Vancer2
Theres nothing more annoying that the feeling of me having a good game and then *bloop* the cursor disappears and i have to alt f4. Is there any way to fix this. I read in a post earlier that its a DDraw error. But is there a way to fix it?
0 FunkyFr3sh
Not sure if its a ddraw error, it happens without ddraw too... might be that the chances are higher when u use ddraw go to the config and disable CnC-DDraw
0 Vancer2
do i have to go into the ddraw.ini and set enable RA/CNC95 Mousehack to false inorder to turn it off. Im not really using the new Red alert 95 :]
0 FunkyFr3sh
nope, open the config tool aka RedAlertConfig.exe and go to video options, uncheck CnC-DDraw What kind of red alert are you using ? In case you don't have the config tool, here's an patch to update your installation: http://cnc-comm.com/community/index.php?topic=1918.0 that might also solve the cursor problem since a patch regarding this problem has been added in there too
0 Vancer2
i have 2.00 because i have modded mine with new units and tech trees :] basically it looks like cnc td but with a ra 95 twist but im worried about losing everything if i were to update as its all i have I even copied the original TD SAM attack animations to RA95 which was thought impossible :] but i proved them wrong :DDDDD
0 FunkyFr3sh
oh noes! Why don't you play Red Dawn did you modify the ra95.exe too ? if not, then just go ahead and use the 3.03 ra95.exe (.dat) you can find a patch for it here (ra303_fix_cursor_bug_v2.exe) http://hifi.iki.fi/cnc/ra/patches/
0 Allen262
Red Dawn is full stand alone meaning it dosn't use or need Red Alert 1. It also has 95%+ of C&C95 units and building converted to RA1. 0 ROB
So the cursor disappearing is normal then... guess there are bound to be hiccups. Kinda a buzzkill after an hour skirmish. Possible to fix or something we must deal with?

0 pichorra
If you are going to disable CnC-DDraw, I suggest you to enable Windows 98 compatibility mode in the main game executable (ra95.exe), and take a read in this thread. DirectDraw have serious issues with multi-core computers, and enabling this compatibility mode will automatically set the game yo only use one core. Note that in Windows 8, I would recommend you to simple Install the Optative DirectX 9.0c components in order to get a better directdraw support. 0 ROB
Disabling ddraw would cause stability issues with newer platforms, would it not?
0 pichorra
Disabling ddraw would cause stability issues with newer platforms, would it not? Yes. That's why i'm saying to enable compatibility mode.
0 Nyerguds
Yeah, if you disable cnc-ddraw, you need to enable compat mode and the DirectX colour fix.
