Plokite_Wolf Posted August 16, 2015 Posted August 16, 2015 Let me just take a moment to laugh at the face of anyone who thought that running CnCNet without an account system was not to be a temporary solution.
Nyerguds Posted August 17, 2015 Posted August 17, 2015 Let me just take a moment to laugh at the face of anyone who thought that running CnCNet without an account system was not to be a temporary solution. Eh. cncnet kind of grew from LAN-play-online. In the earlier versions, an account system was simply not applicable.
amokk Posted August 17, 2015 Posted August 17, 2015 I thought I saw that a logon password was possible. ?

Yeah, hence my "temporary solution" statement. But the current state of the service theoretically supports an account system and each time you launch CnCNet 5, you get a name/password dialogue box, which is currently useless because it does nothing.
Jacko Posted August 17, 2015 Posted August 17, 2015 It does track previous names,so often you can tell pretty quickly if hes a fake or not. Besides its much better than the cncnet4 days (I once had no less than 4 people copy my name once. At the same time.)
ScrubLawd Posted August 19, 2015 Posted August 19, 2015 some people want to use generic names that would be taken immediately. some people dont wanna be bothered with registering an account. ya its annoying but not that big of a deal as long as theres a mod to boot them off.
