Player in game that's been removed "feature"

Chandler

Question

Hi Grant, we discussed this briefly on CNC.  The scenario:

A player gets kicked from the game, but still remains in the player list.  Everyone accepts, but once that happens and the game host hits "start" everyone's CNC will crash.  Screenshot attached (the error message hides it, but skinsgun59 is still showing as in the game, even though he was removed over a minute ago).

This bug happens frequently.  One "solution" to fix is to update any game setting.  This seems to refresh the player list in the game lobby thus removing the already removed player (if that makes sense).

It does make sense. Basically the game lobby isn't updated when you kick someone but he is removed from the internal array of players.

Once you start the game the name of the players from the text boxes or whatever are used as indexes to that array in which the player doesn't exist anymore.

Bad, Rampa, that's just bad!  :P  I guess you forgot too hook up an event handler, but it's still not a very good design.

There doesn't seem to be a set player count from what I've observed, but whatever you've changed seems to have done trick - haven't seen the problem since anyway.

Thanks!

Cool! No thank you for the detailed report, really helps.
