TFD Won't work at all!!!

Question

Hey guys, I am having some major issues with TFD. First, I am running it via bootcamp on my Macbook pro (2.4 ghz intel core duo, 2gb RAM, 160gb hd, NVIDIA GeForce 8600M GT with 256MB of GDDR3 SDRAM ). First, i had windows 7 professional installed, which ran applications such as visual studio 2010 and microsoft expression 3 completely fine, and installed TFD with no problems. However, none of the games would work. Tiberium Dawn just had a blank error come up, red alert was "unable to allocate primary video buffer, renegade just tells me to run the configuration and then does nothing, tiberian sun and RA2 just go to a black screen and do nothing, and generals fails too. Therefore, I reverted back to an XP system (clean installed xp) and had the same problems. Any help?

ok, thanks for that. I upgraded my graphics card and now the games are working...however...the oldest games (Tiberian Dawn and RA1) have a lot of color issues...is this fixed in the patch? or is there another way around that? I haven't had time to install the patch yet or else i would just try it. I'm at work so it's a bit hard to get a good network connection...

Its unusual for all games not to work. :/

Have you tried running the games under compatability mode, running them as admin and/ir installing TFD as an Admin (it might not make any difference on XP however)

There shouldt be any reason for the Mac hardware to cause any problem (unlike the apple Operating Systems), you could of course try running the game using an emulator/virtual machine (you also get some which also emulate things like Hardware so if the Hardware was the problem this should fix it)

Use VM's for the old games:

VMWare Player (i recommend): http://downloads.vmware.com/d/info/desktop_downloads/vmware_player/3_0

Sun's VirtualBOX: http://www.virtualbox.org/wiki/Downloads

Windows VirtualPC (only for WIndows 7): http://www.microsoft.com/windows/virtual-pc/download.aspx

Microsoft Virtual PC 2007 (recommended only for running very old OS, such as Windows 3.11 or 95): http://www.microsoft.com/downloads/details.aspx?FamilyId=04D26402-3199-48A3-AFA2-2DC0B40A73B6&displaylang=en
