  1. Like i asked in the title, what is the status of Red Alert 2. Why is it being put up for download i never saw any official message from EA announcing it becoming "freeware". The only time i have ever seen "RA2 is free" mentioned other than from ilegal downloads and xwis.

If it becomes too big a task it isn't a hobby anymore and it isn't fun. From my own experience if a task becomes to big and demanding it can completely suck all enthusiasm you have out of a project and if i hadn't undertaken that extra project at that time i can guarantee that TS:BoB would not have been sitting in the Inactive Project section and i wouldn't have mucked up as bad as i had that year within the CnC community. -Revo
  8. So do you mean Nyerguds that: The game could check for a string in the ini, for example that "MegaMap=" string, and rather then it could load a new map loading routine specifically for maps were MegaMap=Yes If no then thats my suggestion to the discussion.
  9. Thats official enough, its Olaf who has posted it, Xwis , all that rubbish, but i was not aware RA2 was made freeware. But then that aspect of the community weren't exactly very good at discouraging piracy and cheating from experience (unless they lost). As for your problem check the basics, if you are on 7 Or Vista check compatibility mode have been set and you are preforming actions as the administrator. As the last post is new to me i honestly don't know how much i can help you or indeed if i can under the rules.
  10. You cant ally with the Ai at all in Red Alert or Tiberian Sun At all. The ally function only serves a purpose when playing LAN/CnCNet however it will only work on Human players.
  11. Wow Dune 2 looks pretty at that resolution Im interested to see how this test will turn out, is it codded in just HTML5?
  12. It isn't to do with the graphics card, i have upgraded from a MSI (nividia) Card to a Radeon (Amd) and the problem is present on both and my atom netbook. Colour depth is the problem and the only viable solution is to either force the window TS is running in to use 16bit colour (which i don't know how it would be possible) or to simply run everything in 16bit colour. The Colour depth handling is a problem with windows [xp?] vista and above. wine emulates the required environment so will be emulating 16bit colours for TS within the window eliminating any problems.
  13. I'm curious, how do you know CONC is build-able? is it the blank building sidebar icon? Slightly related if you look the bib, as well as being simple two parallel lines of dirt, stays after the building is destroyed. Also, just a thought, but could it be possible that the GDI and Nod logos on the construction yards are drawn on top of the sprite rather than on the actual sprite if you get what i am meaning. I realize however this is unlikely and problematic when it comes to the construction animation but would get around the current problems linked to the whole one MCV, one construction yard game codding.
  14. Nice, funny how years on things like this can turn up (like sidebar pictures in the other topic). A lot of those pictures were new to me and its the first time Ive seen one with the fully remap barracks building.
  15. Was the problem not to do with rights to the Dune franchise? I remember reading something about at least one of "the games" (not necessarily Westwood's games) was made with the same licenses as the film. I know there are still soldout software copies of Dune 2000 in circulation in Britain however they are very rare and out of print. As they never come up north i was forced to acquire my version through other (although not through insecure sites) means. My downfall with this stuff however is i never record where i get things from, i had found a reliable nocd version and lan patch (which although had a habit of hanging temporarily when lan was selected) worked.
  16. For the light post search for GALITE, all you need to to is set the techlevel to make it build-able As for the light tower Tore has already given you that!
  17. From speaking with Hyper a while ago, i appear to recall that at least some of the CnC and or RA code was there and it was latter 2D cnc's where the issues cropped up. Then again im note sure if the cnc source code was the 95 port or not (which of course is the one we want) and my information is more outdated than TS:bob. Editing things like network support is a pain without the source[1], possible, but id think Nyerguds would slap you if you asked him to do it! We are all better sticking with CnCNet and LAN over WAN. [1] anything is doable in the computer world, it may not be worth it however. To back up my claim see one TS ipv6 patch http://ts.sesse.net/ Never did get in touch with the guy, at least now however i have some programming knowledge.

  19. sorry for the late reply (i do pop-in regularly but don't post often.) I am still working here and there on the core mod on which i am building BoB around (which fixes existing bugs and such). I have had little time but hopefully over December i can do something else. I intend to release some of my graphics on this forum however which people can play about with.

Ever since about March if not earlier i fell out the loop and by May Minecraft had filled the gap that command and conquer once filled (as well as needed revision time ) Well here i am several months on with a poor exam results (but still being able to do what i want, still on Vista, have final gone mobile (with a decent phone), having lost a lot of files in several formats (as off next week never again) and having started a company with two others. It was only recently when a friend wanted to play Tiberian Sun again and i natively came back to this site, i had always felt welcome here and i wanted to start posting again. First of all the apologizes. Tore - I'm sorry for not posting any news or getting in touch with you about my inactivity. Chad1233 - I'm afraid its looking as if i have lost the gems and ore in a format. I have however started redoing the gems since they weren't that much work. Oh the subject of Beta All BoB Fan's - I'm really sorry for keeping you guys in the dark and delaying the project. I have decided however although i want to continue with the mod i have decided, since there is interest and to help promote this site im going to release as many of my beta graphics as possible. Priority Projects. I am currently making a game in java for my Advanced higher computing project so ill keep you guys posted on that. Basically you have to guide a "caveman" through a maze and if i have time fight through dinosaurs As i have mentioned I have started a company hosting Minecraft servers (as soon as the sites up it will be in my sig ) and we hope to have both site up and hardware in the data-center in the next few months. So if your into Minecraft, in Europe and want a server your in luck :L) Other Projects. Well i have a Minecraft texture pack on the go and I have several more amphibious projects which i guess i want to try to finish at some point such as translating Our Tiberian sun installer to German (the hard part) and editing "Die Ersten 10 Jahre" "Operation Tiberian sun: Feuersturm" to be compatible. Completing my poor quality Generals mod. And putting the final touches to my TS patch (i still have more bugs to fix) Its good to be back.
