Black screen when trying to join a multiplayer game.

Can you try to rename dune2000.exe to dune2000-test.exe and then start it? Could be some compat setting screwing things up -

Strange... What kind of dune2000 installation do you have? If it's the gruntmods version: Do you have the very latest version? Did you apply any other custom patches to your game? Try to go to the game folder and launch "dune2000-spawn.exe", check if you can play the campain with it too -
thanks, some things of that are not bad

registration will be coming since we need it for the ladder, but you need to have some patience! Once we have account it will allow us to add some new features like stats/Ladder/Clans etc.. http://tahj.cncnet.org/#/leaderboard/ra
-
I wonder what it was showing, can someone post the content of this file here? I have been addign live stats to dune2000/red alert, showing some connection info in real time would be a nice feature
-
actually you should be able to view them via cncnet, just create a "Missions" folder inside of the "Maps" folder, start cncnet, select Missions category and browse through the maps Right click map preview to open the map in raed quickly, double click to view a high res picture of it I think I filtered out single player missions, so you might need to rename them
-
never heard about it, maybe it was a special WOL feature
-
the map editor launcher can preview it, it also shows all mods you dont have our game versions installed?
-
more and more people start using it, seems to run well mpstats?
-
Are the maps loose files or are some of them maybe inside of .mix files?
-
yes, but i'd like to test it for some time first
-
The game works only if the executable has its original name, the yuri client is using the filename "game.dat" which is causing the bug. Thats why the game works perfectly fine when started without cncnet Actually the game doesn't work at all on windows 8/10, the reason why it works is that windows detects the game by the filename(and some other things) and applies compatibility settings automatically If you don't want to wait for the update, then get the "Microsoft Application Compatibility Toolkit" and apply the settings on your own. I extracted the settings from the microsoft db, you can find them here: http://funkyfr3sh.cncnet.org/files/compat/

Yes, that was changed. The converter puts it into the map and also creates the tutorial.ini to keep it compatible to both versions of the patch
-
tutorial.ini contains the text messages which are shown during the game play When you click "Convert All" and you have all missions in the folder then it converts all of them and raises the number after each, you can also convert them one by one manually but then you have to take care of raising the number on your own. Each mission needs its own unique number to make sure the mission won't override each other

shp files must be in a .mix file, else the game cannot read them my tool creates a empty .mix file you can use to place everything into, this way you can have the whole campaign in one file the tool was mainly made for missions, not for mods with custom game files
-
Have some patience and try it again in a few days, I don't know exactly when they are going to push it It will be an automatic update, so you don't need to change anything on your side
-
I think I found a solution for these values back when I made it, but I will check the code again later just to be sure, thanks
-
You have to wait for the next update, the problem is well known on windows 8/10 and there is a fix ready since some time, it just needs to get pushed They are working on a new update and it will probably go online the next days i think
-
I made a tool to convert them automatically, you can find it here: http://cnc-comm.com/community/index.php?topic=2889.0 Read through the whole thread, one guy already took care of converting some
-
I work on red alert 1 and dune 2000 only, those are the games I like to play and that's why it is also fun patching them to improve stuff Iran patched TS and added support for cncnet, maybe you can get him to continue to patch things
-
Find someone who loves TS, knowns x86 assembly and is willing to help out, then we could get all kinds of new things done You don't have any program to view image files? It will use your default image viewer to show the preview I use this one for like 200 years already: http://www.irfanview.com/ It's tiny, fast and opens everything

nice, good job! You can actually add your music to the game, you could convert it to the .aud format with XCC Mixer from here http://xhp.xwis.net/ Might be nice to if you place a download link to the .aud file in here so people can add it to their game if they want
