Hello & welcome You can do just that using the CnCNet client. Just download it, join a game or host your own and invite others to join! Make sure you update it. GLHF

Cannot play campaigns in either RA2 or Yuri's Revenge
Sam-I-am replied to boyryan's topic in Community News
So, you're able to run RA2.exe although you have CnCNet installed. You've just verified that, right? I have the CD version, and I'm guessing that the client is based on the Origin version if there's any difference. Again, I don't care about the campaigns anymore. I was just telling the OP that it's not just him. -
Hey Wow! Thank you very much I hope it didn't take many hours I love the new units and effects of the Zero Hour mod; Assault Nighthawk, Plasma Cannon, Mobile Stealth Generator, Nuclear Cannon, Terror Bike, Crazy Guevara are some of the most impressive additions; really cool; the flying naval units are over the top though. I really appreciate your effort. Incredible.

Cannot play campaigns in either RA2 or Yuri's Revenge
Sam-I-am replied to boyryan's topic in Community News
I'm sure that it works without the client being installed. I've been playing for years before CnCNet existed. I think the CnCNet patch is what's causing the issue, given that it combines RA2 & YR, with the option to turn YR into RA2. For me, it doesn't matter, becuase I've already played the campaigns enough. Are you able to run both campaings through the client? Can you run RA2.exe? -
Cannot play campaigns in either RA2 or Yuri's Revenge

Hey, buddy Yeah. I get that, but we're talking about personal use here, not sharing. If you own the game legally, using a third-party launcher can't be piracy. You already paid for the car; It's yours; you can modify it anyway you like. Same with the game. -
Thank YOU, sir. I appreciate your interest.

That's right. If you don't mind Thanks.

Same thing happened again with another host, but thankfully, this time I managed to explain before he quit. I wonder how many hosts quit at that point

Help to Fix "Error Saving Mission!" in CnCnet Client
Sam-I-am replied to DeathStriker117's topic in Red Alert 2
Excuse me, sir. RA2.exe no longer works (for me at least; though It used to, before I started using the client), and Yuri.exe is the official patch, not the game launcher. RA2MD.exe is the one for YR. -
Hi. What an effort! I'd like to suggest something else if I may... I propose this map to be modded if you will: [6] Oil In Corners & Center Original [x2] (Final Version) One of the most popular unofficial maps ever. Cheerios, Sam-I-am-Not.

Cannot play campaigns in either RA2 or Yuri's Revenge
Sam-I-am replied to boyryan's topic in Community News
Hi. I too tried to run the campaign mode through the client and failed. When I click "RA2 Campaign", nothing happens, and when I click "YR Campaign", I get a prompt asking if I want to apply the official upgrade patch, although it is already applied, and the campaign doesn't run anyway. It's just a launcher! They don't sell those separately. -
Around the same spot where another crate was taken. And I'm confident that there is also a limit on the number of crates that can exist at the same time in any given spot. Given that there are those limits, my theory is that if you take your crates before others take their's, new ones are likely to show up at your spot, because other spots would already have many. To give a simple example, suppose that others player don't take their crates at all; if you're the only one taking crates, you'd continue to get new ones as soon as you take existing ones, because crates get sprinkled around the map equally to some extent. I mean you usually see 3-4 crates at the same time in each spot (they don't all show up at the same spot, that never happens, because of the limit), so you would get all new crates because other spots would have reached their limit, so you benifit from the "fair" distribution. Not sure about that, but if you sell all the buildable structures that you own, the next crate you take would be an MCV crate for sure, regardless of how many units you have. Of couse, short game must be disabled for that to work or else you lose.

Hi, Straight to the point... When you leave a room and make your own, game settings get reset to their default, meaning that you don't take the same settings from the previous room, which is good, but the problem is that you do take the "extra player options" settings from it. I talked about this issue long before but it's yet to be fixed. I know it seems minor, but it can be problematic sometimes. The other day I joined a room and the host was noob (to say the least ) and coudn't understand how to disable auto-allying from the extra menu (option was enabled in the room he joined earlier), so he couldn't start the game, he quit and we didn't play, haha. So, some people still don't know about that menu, and if you unknowingly take those settings from other rooms and can't change them (because you're noob), that might prevent you from playing! (until you restart the client). Please fix: Reset the extra options when you host a game after joining another (all disabled by default). Thank you.

Hi. What do you mean? What replay folder?

Map filter possible? can small maps be removed from the game?
Sam-I-am replied to Harry_993's topic in Red Alert 2
Hi. Yes. You can delete maps, but if you just wanna filter maps, you can type the name of the map or the number that you want in the text bar and that'll do it. To delete maps, access the Skirmish mode, rightclick the map => Delete map. You'd have to access the Skirmish mode everytime you want to delete a map, and you can only delete one map at a time; that if you wanna delete maps through the client, BUT there's another way, which is to go to the maps folder (Game path/Maps), search the maps and delete them. I'm not sure about this, but deleting official/semi-official maps (ones that're initially included with the client) could give you a "different files" warning message everytime you host/join a game, which would make some hosts kick you for suspected cheating. To fix that, you'd have to do a forced update, which would reinstall those maps. GLHF -
Hello, everyone. I noticed something interesting, but I'm not sure if it's intentional or just a coincidence. Can anyone confirm that the more quickly you take crates, the more quickly (sooner) new ones would show up around your spot? I've experienced that wonderful phenomenon many times. As soon as I pick up a new crate, another one appears. At the same moment!

Sorry but that would be too complicated to understand for many people. I think most of them would continue to join & leave even if new indicators were implemented, simply because that's easier. I mean, joining & leaving is not a big deal. I would rather see people join & leave than to not see them join at all. I persoanlly mention in the title if crates and superweapons are enabled or not, if I think that that would attract more people. If you need to shorten "crates", you can use cr8s, crts... etc, and for "superweapons", SW. And BTW, many people join rooms without even looking at the titles! I know that because I too often host and sometimes people ask if crates/sw...etc are enabled after the game starts! although they were waiting in the room for a while and that's usually mentioned in the title, so they could've checked the settings/read the title; so nothing would make any difference. Pro Tip: Keep it simple. No need to tell too many info. You want as many people as possible to join your room/game even if that's just for a moment, because people tend to join games which have more players rather than ones that're empty. TBH, the suggested indicators would be kind of confusing and more time consuming, while joining a room to check the settings takes no time. I agree with you on this one. GLHF.

You don't need to change these settings from ra2md.ini, you can do it from within the client, which is easier and more useful. Start the client, go to Options > Display. Play with the settings there until you get the desired outcome. My settings are Max resoultion for both In-game & Client. Windowed mode: On. Borderless: Off. Fullscreen: Off. Good luck!

Some people connect normally to some tunnels and not to other ones. So, my guess is: when you join other games, you load becuase they choose tunnels other than the one you're choosing when you host. Change tunnel. If that doesn't work, try joining another game or host a game for 2 (loading test) and rehost your original game only after you load successfully. Good luck!

Anyway, I've been able to solve the issue by disconnecting and reconnecting (logging out and back in). The next time it would connect me to the server that I want. Everytime you disconnect, it tries a different server. Thanks.
