  2. so i was moving some of my files from my old pc and im pretty sure i wrote this around 2008ish lol but i figured since its about ra2/yr it would be relevant here.. it made me laugh, enjoy you got time,you got rhymes, but making them sound fine, aint happenen, you need another design But id stick to rhyming, cuz you cant play this game, its 5-0 me even when you lame. You try and win, you got passion, but you dont got skills, so to me your just a fast win alt engi glitch me you all you want, il still fuc* u up yeah Bit** thats what im on. i got the skills of the finest, the best Tc in the land. teh most expensive keyboard, and the best mouse in hand. the greatest resolution, not to mention i dont lag. i've know the best bo's and have the best micro anyones ever had. After seein me play your gonna want trainin, but i wont have time cuz ill have your gf in my bed Stainin. it feels good to be on top, living life large, so theres no need to roll stop and drop, i got dealt the best cards. i've perfected my skills over the decades, i made the best bos ever made, you probably nvr got laid. i mean i could go on forever but ill leave you at this conclusion. challenge me To this game, you'll only end up losin.

Here is my Request: Being able to put passwords on a game that has already been created Benefits: When someone has to leave for some reason, or you are waiting for specific people to join your game which is already full. You would be able to put a password on the game to ensure only the people you want to join the game will! The alternative is remaking the entire game which is just annoying and kills momentum

He is saying do not sell your mcv first; That is the point he is trying to get across.. although sometimes it's fun, and can catch an opponent off guard... consider the fact marko has been dominating the 1v1 ladder for years, i would put stock in to what he is saying as he has proven experience in winning... Which as you say is the most important thing to talk about in this topic.
  6. HI, i wrote this while i was really quick in game(splits galore!)... and i used to read it everytime i took long breaks and wanted to be competetive again.. Hope it helps Hot Key General Ideas: A(.?)Few new general ideas! 1:Way-Pointing dogs to scout -I usually still choose to manually scout with dogs (numbering them) However, waypoints i think are best used when you know the maps. That way you can easily waypoint through cliffs etc... and have your dogs stop at choke points that you would normally stop at anyways. 2:Thoughts on how to incorporate F1-F4 -Incorporating f1-f4 is kind of hard, but on really big maps it's very helpful. If you waypoint your warfactory to a certain spot, you can f1 it and automatically go there; considering the odds are you won't have those units numbered since they are waypointed there. 3:Thoughts on Way-Pointing -On big maps, to try to incorporate way-pointing tanks. Basic Hot key Numbering: H- Your Mcv f1-f4- important spots on Map ( choke points) (and ore fields you are mining) 9-primary warfactory--- (hit 9 to auto set a rally point during battle) 0-Primary barracks-- (hit 0 to auto set rally points during battle) ^ s will make them go back to normal. Added Tip: grizzly and dogs #1 rokis #2 ifv #3 harrier # 4 5 6 7 split #1 one way, #2 another, and finally #3 the other way, crossing these over (rokis easiest to switch around and help other #'s - over cliffs, down cliffs to diff entrances etc etc) finally hitting flak / buildings / pp's with harriers / tanks / desos with harrier to help out on all sections H0tk3y Vs M4p ALL HOT KEYS ARE NUMBERED IN ORDER AS GAME PROGRESSES 1. (That's why it's not smart to press miners with 1 tank; your tank will take damage and his miner heals.) --------------------------------------------------------------------------- General Knowledge: Sure Building orders for each individual map are cool but all you need to do is master "Heck Freezes Over" and understand some GeNeRaL Knowledge, then you can make your own Building orders. first rule= never hit zero, always have an economy. in YR you need 4 miners on one warfactory before you can start expanding to more warfacs or teching (1 miner in gems counts as 2), always have a sentry gun ready, ALWAYS(you are able to cancel/sell for economic reasons) fodder + good tc > opponent who out tanks you (be the judge of skill) always pressure, pressure does NOT always mean attack, but it's a lot easier to do things if you control more of the map then you're opponent, not only that, but it also puts you in good position to make a first move, **** Place buildings with a purpose********* Don't just build to build, build with reason. Possible reasons include : -Expansion -Securing a choke point -Anti scouting Examples* "I'll place my powerplant here so i can build down a cliff" "I'll place my warfactory here because it's closer to the opponent and it will save some time for my tanks to get to his base" "I'll place my battlelab in back because it's easy to destroy and very important"" *******Walls******** A very diverse defensive structure that does a lot. Some uses, and facts with walls: -One wall in front of a defensive structure adds alot of health to it. *Keep in mind structures like pillboxes and sentry guns can not shoot over walls -Walling your buildings costs less then anything and is a cost effective way to keeping your base alive in base trading, or unseen split situations. *********General Ideas********** When an opponent splits to your MCV with a few tanks and you need a little more time to react, build a wall in in front of their tanks. This can usually by you a significant amount of time

  8. not sure if this is possible... but would you be able to make MCv's disappears and mcv repacks un buildable( or those explode too) after a certain amount of time? IT's just a crazy Rush game type i'd like to try on maps where people used to sell mcv all the time anyways so basically i see this: - A countdown timer is on the bottom right of the map for when MCv's will disappears. 1) i was thinking 3 or 5 minutes, maybe even 7. i guess the bigger the map the longer the timer? still unsure on this.. - This would force people to sell their mcv before it disappears, creating crazy tactics.. reminiscent of an older era in YR history! 1) the only difference would be both players would have to sell their mcv! a. Maybe if one person sells their mcv the other person doesn't have to? (im getting off topic aaaahhhhhhhh) -Probably only a handful of players would like this game type, so id say the popularity of it would be only with veterans, and not even all of them. POTENTIAL PROBLEMS: - Stalemates 1) People building on Top of cliffs, or naval stretching would clearly hinder this game type to "non-competitive" play -how do you even do something like this ? 1. Are ai triggers good enough to just put this on certain maps? if so i can create a list i think would benefit this game type and virutally eliminate the problem of a stale mate anyways, this is more of a want than a suggestion... sometimes you just get the urger for quick high paced games. and a gametype like this will force you to deliver ! thanks for your time cncnet community!
  9. These things seem to come in waves... Not sure if its a server issue, but there have been times where every single game on just the near ore far map reconned at the start of the game for like 10 games straight.. then no recon for like 7 months and now randomly there were a few. I dont really know why it happens but going off of experience, it usually comes in waves and goes as well..

  11. On my phone so dont hate lol... Same here i started playing on ps1 red alert retalition!. I played tiberian sun and red alert 2 online in like 2001 but only mod maps, i was 11 and rarely had internet for more than 2 months in a row. In late 2005 i started playing yuris revenge online and played rawr map (tons of grms in middle ) and bay of pigs. In 2006 i made my first clan predators of darkness and invited everyone with a high rank, lol. Funny enough tej, tj aka buffalo was in this clan . I one mapped dune patrol and dry heat... in february i joined my first hof clan (2006) with mr kinkysex on here. But i was only allowed to cm on dry heat and dune patrol lmfao. Sometime after that i met Brett, we had similar playing styles (he was sov at this time) and we decided wed be a good team. I went on to be in a hof clan every single month after that until i quit the game! But it was in 2007 i was at my best. This is when i got rank 3 qming. And few rank1 two man and three man clans. And even a rank 4 double allied clan and we only played half the month due to internet problems! My micro was so good during these times i was such a nerd, altho im probably a bit smarter now, definitely way faster... During those times i would bounce around to red alert 2 i forget most of those clans however as id join a new one just to play since ra2 didnt really matter to me. I did get a couple rank 1 two man clans on there with latof. And a few hof clans with brett on there. Also winning the first ever xwis sponsored 2v2 tournament!!! After getting a rank 1 clan in 2010 i officialy quit yr. I came back to ra2 in around 2011-2012 had some ggs with alot of plyers, got some hof clans and 1 or 2 rank 1 cland thanks to having latof as a partner. Met Adam! Won a couple ffg tournies with him and clanned a minimal bit, hoping he could replace brett and we can win the first ever 2v2 sponsored cncnet tournament!!!!!!!!!!!! To be continued...
  12. I played maps called "defend the president" and "defend the liberty" but no water on these. You taking about different map then. :'( Nooo, i played this map. You will never find it unless an older player who has it appears out of nowhere. A shame my old computer got rid of all my maps!

  14. Deleting spawnmap.ini was the solution! MY login name was changed to 4b,2c,5g,3h or something like that so i changed it to ExpaNd and it works now thanks guys
  15. i copy and pasted my redaalert2 folder into my documents, also.. There was never a problem before this. Im running Windows Vista and delete what file manually?

  18. hi i've had this problem since a couple games after the new update.. first my game would always crash whenever i started it. it only crashes when i try to start a game, even in skirmish mode!!! i havent been able to play for a week i wonder if this is fixable? ive tried deleting+reinstalling with no luck, some help would be appreciated. it is everygame 100% of the time

That's because you've been banned from ra2 for a long time :roll: in a SERIOUS balance thread i could make a few serious suggestions, but a couple of questions id have is.. can you make something (maybe just one unit) cost less if you build a battlelab? BOOMER could you make rocketeers stronger/more useful against missiles (dread,v3,boomer) please dont let yuri players able to mutate their own slaves, lol. Magnetrons need a tweak apocs should be buffed maybe (cant be lifted by magnetrons+shoot while moving????) tesla tanks need a definite buff. (maybe more range so you can use them behind walls, or a little quicker like a ra2 grizzly tank not too sure) chronosphere timer down maybe 20 seconds engis play an important role vs yuri and sometimes even vs allied as sov in certain situations! Can you just make it so your mcv can not be captured? multi engineer is annoying vs yuri on certain maps, and no eat vs yuri is just fixing an intended weakness for them built into the game (lack of scouting+securing tech derricks) those are some things i think could be worked with maybe not all will agree but those would be some opinions of mine
  20. Exactly. The lightning strikes aren't exactly random. They strike tall and expensive buildings and take out Battle Labs, Radar Towers, War Factories and Power Plants as well as metal vehicles, frying Infantry standing near by in large groups. Very rarely lightning bolts hit the ground, when there's nothing more to level. When a Nuclear Missile is announced through the siren, players have plenty of time to move their tanks and sell expensive buildings. Not so much with the Weather Storm. When the Weather Storm hits you're basically powerless, pretty much as in real life. Weather storm isnt bad imo. Also with a nuke you can tell where it goes and in YR you can use something called a force shield, which makes u lose power but gives u a wide ranged iron curtain on your buildings... Dont say i never taught you anything

Idk why u keep bringing my stats up, not only do i play everyones maps (i let them pick them all) but half of the maps i dont even know/ havent played but i dont care because i barely play... before the end of last month i havent played in a year+ and i still havent played 100 games.. so lets set this up then u can be alloes ill be sovs we will do firet to 5 wins and i get to pick every map, just like i let everyone do to me. And then we'll see how good you are, deal? Also sovs and yuri have more rank 1 then allies do on both games so... youre wrong.
  23. I am so glad that after 4 pages this is now finally a "complete debate"! Amen. I rest my case, a1nthony. Your case isnt settled because my original arguement was Yuri is OP. What does an allied arguement have to do with that? Allies are overpowered? I can just engi rush and alt every game, then what? You gonna call me lame? And still get the big L on your record almost everygame. We can be real here. The only reason u Think allies are so good, is because there are rules "no engi eat, cant use engineers, no alt" but yet ill rest my case with this. Sovs have more rank1s then allies ever have/will GG. GG GG GG GG Edit: by complete debate i meant no hard feelings, not this debate is over, another wrong assumption by you, not surprised
  24. To Adam, this is tony so this is a complete debate and i love you <3 but.... Yuri doesnt have op units? Magnetron instant kill miner... Discs? Mm? Are you serious right now? The problem with yuri has never been "in long games" its wave tactics considering Yuri has a better economy then allies and can keep that advantage by keeping pressure, rockies are useless against yuri as well. Oh did i forget Boomer subs, you know... a dreadnought right after building radar? And as far as allied as overpowered... go play moon3 in china on ra2 and tell me.how you do, Me and you beat marko and tomi as double allied in a cm. I know how good you are...ive also played with good allies! But if you would have ever played Tims sovs on yr (he used to get the better of marko there) at his prime, you would understand why quick tech sovs are so Strong (yr). Although i do believe a perfect korean player may have something to say about that. Its no secret that in long games and "4v4" maps allies are better! But thats the point, sovs can have iron curtain before allies get chrono not only is it less time, but soviet economy is better in early game no? Im not sure how my YURI is the OP team turned into AvS.. but allies are definitely better against yuri with sws off lol. Ive seen some really good allied players by the way, and i believe having an allied teammate in 2v2 is the best option you can have, however we are talking about 1v1 and i think if allies used lame taxtics to win on yr (seals etc...) than sovs can use lame tactics like engineer or go to china where alt and engi is normal and tell me allies are overpowered. I know some crazy YR rushes based on alt (from oldschool) and they are not fun for the opponent. In the past allies were worse because of the map pool really, so i wont bring up the fact that most of the rank 1s are sov or yuri (yuri still op like i said) but i can also argue that most players these days dont know how to play against allies, and the ones who do, still end up rank 1 as sovs on ra2 as far as yuri.... allies need tricks and better micro then the opponent to win against a powerful sov on over %50 of the maps. Which is why i think sovs are better but again its way closer on yr than ra2 imo. In conclusion, Yuri is the only severely OP team on yuris revenge
