New Campaign : Yuri Resurgence (Yuri 12 Missions, Yuri's Revenge)

Weird you’ve tried running as admin I’m guessing. what OS are you running? and if you remove the zip contents from your RA2 folder it all launches again ok? -

I can’t get it perfect for everyone as there seems to be some difference between the Origin and the Disc install of the game. Those save crashes are annoying Ive encountered one myself even with the vanilla campaign, however it’s something unconnected with the editor, so I’m unable to solve that. It does seem that the Origin version is lacking compared to the disc install. The other things I’m looking at. -

I’ll take a look at this. The destroying the walls aren’t necessary to defeat a house. what platform are you using? Origin or discs? Its actually the first time this has cropped up, so your 1 in over 3,000. - it’s very strange. Im planning on fixing mission 8 and 11 in a download so if I can identify this bug it would be handy to fix too. -

That would seem to indicate that all of Orange had not been destroyed then, as there wasn't a cheer. There must be something hiding on the map somewhere. If you have the save of the game at that stage Id look at it for you. Its a simple win trigger as each of the four houses are destroyed a variable is fired. All four variables equal the mission ending. I can only guess that maybe there could be a spot on the map still shrouded and perhaps there could be a building or unit beneath that. -

Yeah it’s because you have Origin that your encountering a problem. Now I run mine on both Origin and Disc. Works on both. Now with Origin I recall downloading Bibbers launcher patch. I also disabled Origin before launching the game. Now I’m pretty sure that’s all I did. However I could be wrong. I have heard that some ppl make a separate RA2 folder on the desktop and run it from there. I think certain game launch files need to be in that folder. Im hoping this is some use to you. -

lol --- wow only just seen the above posts.........royalties...haha. No its all done for free. I just assumed the CD was the standard RA2 missions, I get my own cd cover..... wonder what it translates as , maybe just missions 2003? Bet it costs $1 to make that Cd and box anyway. Crazy that someone is getting something out of it though. -

I respect you for your determination, best of luck. Stick with it.

Nope your no idiot - Go look at this link most of them are here. - There is a second campaign being written. so lots more to come, hopefully dropping around December. -
Nope nothing for TS, for RA2. when I say new content I mean single player missions.
-
I plated TS when it was released way back.......... you still had the same issues then. Custom maps so players could gain points to climb up the WW leader board. Players that went for the quick build and sell tactic to get a disruptor tank via carryall to the enemy base. Then quickly win. Great game, shame the editor didn't allow for adding strings ect, otherwise id of written more missions for it. I don't think your ever going to change the way some players approach these games, but will say this, when people get tired of unfair or ruthless gameplay, they move on. When that happens the numbers of players get reduced, and the game stops being played. I feel your best bet is to find a group with a similar gameplay style to your own, and stick with that group, hopefully pulling in new players on the way. I don't play online, no time for it, rather be making stuff to keep the new content going and hopefully keep people interested. There are players with the values your seeking out there, best of luck.

Never seen that before, I have seen hovercraft stuck on sandbags and Gis stuck on walls. Yet again a Westwood bug, nothing to do with my scripting. -

Alias202, that would be a westwood bug, thats known about, bit like the crates vanishing after a game save and reload. Rule of thumb, don't abort mid build on a critical unit. If you pull the plug your killing him. Your on about Mission 7, Home Invasion. -
CrateGoodie=no --------- will work so you would have to add all the units to your map and add that line to them. Or if your using your own rulesmd.ini you would alter the vehicle rules in there. ie [AMCV] CrateGoodie=no [V3] CrateGoodie=no and so on.

I can’t fix a bug that is hard coded. The bug isn’t with my campaign. All I can think of if pulling one of the files out of the mix and dropping it directly into your RA2 folder so it reads it first. I suppose it’s just possible the issue is with the normal difficulty mode, I play them all on hard myself to ensure they’re possible. I could Mod those final levels for you so they play individually, it means you could play them in any order all you would miss out on would be the end game stats and message. -
Can't help with regard to RA1 however Id imagine its as easy as RA2. Maps/Missions can be found in the forums or on various fan sites ect. Then you simply download them, place them in your game folder and launch the game as normal. The Missions generally take the file name of the official (vanilla), missions so its a case of selecting a new campaign and it plays the new mission, rather than the official one. The maps can be found in your skirmish list for playing other players or Ai teams. When done, remove the file you added and it restores the game.

Sorry no I don't have a save for mission 9. I think another person encountered this, but managed to move on by never saving on that level, so he played it straight through. -

Hi Elbek, looks like youv'e been digging around at RADEN. Yeah I think LION closed and archived the site when Generals and RA3 came out. Little did we know back then that RA2 would outlast them both. Now many of those old missions are already here in this forum, or available on Discord at the War Factory. That should take care of all the released missions to date. https://discord.com/channels/800660076792250379/800672286259544075 http://www.yrargentina.com/old/index.php?page=maps/yrsp2 -

The game save seems the most likely culprit. As the win is based on variables, its possible, look at crates as an example. If you pre-place them, or if you discover them, even in the official version, saving the game causes them to vanish on reloading. Im glad that you persisted, it does seem to be one annoying bug for a few ppl. Myself I saved/reloaded ect no problems, I certainly used super weapons. You get my respect for sticking with it. -

Yeah it seems buggy for the odd player,(I think your the sixth, so out of 1500+ that's not too bad), for most its a walk in the park, yet the odd one or two encounter this and were clueless as to why. Is it Disc or Origin version your playing? Its suggested that you leave a couple of silos and make them the last thing you destroy, after Einstein hits his evac point. (That worked for someone). Another thing is ensuring mind control of Einstein isn't lost, although Ive tried this and had no trouble. One guy played it from start to finish without saving, - and that worked for him. If I can find the problem I will correct it, even if it's just for those few players. It seems there is no rhyme or reason for it. The triggers appear to be fine. It's never hit that error with either me or the play testers. As you can see from the numerous videos on youtube players are completing it. -

Not heard of this, as a common problem, but have encountered it with the game in general. I simply put it down to something in the game itself. In my case I had to start again, then when I saved it and restarted it worked fine. hopefully a one off glitch, and it would be beyond my knowledge to fix the Westwood coding anyway. -
