RAED crash - can't find any maps

my raed has a weird problem, keeps giving me some error when i start and cant find any maps

it has happened on 3 separate directories of red alert all downloaded separately (dont ask about that)

 

Error says:

 

'Access Violation at address 004069C6. Read of address 00000000'

can anyone tell me what the problem is?

 

Also whilst loading it says 'Invalid Mix format' and 'wrong hires1.mix' - this only started yesterday and the files have not been changed at all.

 

EDIT:

Having deleted one of my broken missions, it turns out the code in it got corrupted, deleting that means it works, although the hires/mix error persists

yes, that happens if u got some bad maps in the folder

 

the mix error happens when you modify the mix files and don't encrypt em afterwards

yeah... I think you can only re-enable the mix encryption by using XCC Mix Editor instead of XCC Mixer for editing mix files.

All I can say is raed is a pain in the @$$ if you edit a mix it uses....

Well I assume it was simply made before people realized RA would accept the mixfiles without encryption anyway.

I used encryption and still beat my head silly while doing the Mission Builder for Red Dawn.
