Yuri's Revenge "Error -unable to set video mode"

When I try to run Yuri's Revenge on this computer I get this error. I got Red Alert 2 to run eventually  after putting in

AllowHiResModes=Yes

AllowVRAMSideBar=Yes

VideoBackBuffer=no

But the screen was still small I couldn't make it stretch to the screen but at this point I wasn't going to complain.  I have tried both http://blog.obelisk.ro/2010/09/resolution-fix-for-red-alert-2-yuris.html#comment-347380787

and http://www.stuffhost.de/files/cnc/, neither worked.

I am running windows 7 on my new computer that I built, its the same version that I had on my old computer. And I was able to run both RA2 and YR with no problem there, the thing is now I can't even get the CD to even start the install process, I get an "Action not Supported" Can anyone point me to any updates I may have missed. I have already done more than googled all that I can and found nothing. :\ I am NOT buying no TFD bullshit. I refuse to put anymore money into EA. these are Pre-The First Decade and I will continue to use them until my cd drives one day decide to destroy them.

Which option in the  AMD

I have Enable

GPU upscaling

 

Then there is Preferred Scaling mode with

  O  Maintain aspect ratio

  O Scale image to full panel size

  O Use centered timings

I also have a box that says use ITC processing

 

This is all displayed in the "My Digital Flat Panels

 

I just tried to turn off GPU scaling and when I go to accept it checks the box right back again.....  :ranting: and googling it only shows results about how to turn GPU scaling on.

Right now its set at 1024x768

Here is the complete set of options I have under [Video] in RA2MD.ini

VideoBackBuffer=no

 

I have been using this http://blog.obelisk.ro/2010/09/resolution-fix-for-red-alert-2-yuris.html to set the screen resolution for YR, I tried all them and so far it gives the same error for every resolution.

Some friends of mine told me this sounds like its not reading my graphics card. I should let you know that at the time I had this working on my other computer I was using 2 HD 5770's Now im using one AMD Radeon R7 260X. This could be the cause of the problem. But I don't know.

right click RA2MD or whatever the .exe you're using the to launch the game is called go to properties or show more options and then properties for those of you using windows 11 then go to Compatability then run program in compatability mode then select windows xp service 2 that worked for me as of today running yuris revenge on a windows 11 pc with a 2060 rtx card game ran smooth just like it did back in the day on my dads pc :)
