game runs fine on 8.1 BUT...

Hi

I downloaded game here, Right clicked on the shortcut, prpoertys

General - No Change

Shortcut - Normal window

Compatibility - win xp ser pack 2

                    Reduced color mode

                    16 bit

                      Run as admin

Security      - No change

Details        - No change

 

In Game        - Rendering - TS D Draw

 

Thats all Ive done and game works and does not crash untill

When I bring up the side menu for any reason I have to re start my PC

I cant change the name of the game im trying to save

If I save the game I then have to do a computer re start

Loading a saved game takes 5 min, some times works some times I have to do a re start

 

Any tips?

It should work with the default settings, no compat mode nor ts-ddraw needed

Are you saying I should uninstall and install the version you point me to?

You don't need to uninstall, you can have both versions installed at the same time

Reduced colour mode? Does that even work on Win8? I thought that required disabling aero...

win 8 added a specific compatibility mode for programs to set the color depth for them, so you can set 16 bit depth on only TS.
