All you need to do is make sure it starts with "http", and not "https" http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=I16e0OgDQIc On a related note, the actual image url in the format you suggest there is also a fixed format: [url=https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=YOUTUBEID][img]http://img.youtube.com/vi/YOUTUBEID/hqdefault.jpg[/img][/url] Link: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=YOUTUBEID Also, no real need for the [url] tags around bare urls; the board identifies those automatically. Though, since the image is already made a link, I have no clue why you think it's useful to put it there a second time as bare url anyway. But yeah, no real need for all that.
