Can't Save Game (Mental Omega) in Windows 10

I can launch the game and play it. However, when I press the ESC key from within the game play to save it or go back to the menu it hangs. The frame stops but the music continues playing. I have to kill the Main Yuri Executable manually through the task manager.  I have a Windows 10 64BIT running on an Alienware R3.

Save game functionality is absolutely critical because otherwise you have to complete the mission in one go which is sometimes not possible.

Please advise on a solution to this problem.

The renderer you are using is likely causing this issue, try a different renderer. You can change that setting in the client options

Mental Omega uses the Ares DLL which expands YR's codebase, but breaks savegame compatibility. This was known from the start, but the next version is announced to have savegame functionality working.
