C&C series Warz: Spiltt from favorite track from Frank/Jarrid topic
Tore replied to Ferret's topic in General Discussion
What is this "RA series" you speak of? RA1 is the prequel to C&C1. And why don't you like RA1? -
You can play up to 8 players on LAN and online. No, not unless you play the DOS version.
-
I recommend getting FullRA+ instead of MiniRA. As for connecting to XWIS with RA 3.03. This is an issue with XWIS itself, there is nothing we can do...
-
"Finished maps" should be posted in the Map Archive

There has been awhile since we last heard from the "Sole Survivor Revival Project". But today it came to my attention that they have released the source code for the project! So programmers head over to Sourceforge and check it out! If you want to discuss this head over to this topic.

Looks nice! It's balanced but not symmetrical!
-
Run the game in Windows XP compatibility mode.
-
Hmm, weird it works for me and I use Windows 7 64-bit

What is your favorite track from Frank Klepacki/Jarrid Mendelson?

Act on Instinct - C&C1 Warfare - C&C1 Harkonnen battle - Dune 2k Under Construction - Dune 2k Hell March - RA1 Trenches - RA1? Link Up - TS Nod Crush - TS "TS Map theme" - TS Divine Intervention - UaW And many others I can't think of right now -
Have you copied all the required mix files (Don't remember which) into the XCC folder?
-
Seems like there is a problem with XWIS itself.

I've got a small guide on how to play RA1 online here. If you get any problems check this.

EA's freeware release was a pain to install. It was comprised of a Tiberian Sun folder directly copied from The First Decade. It also had a bunch of batch files and registry files people had to install. This caused a lot of confusion, that left many people with nothing but a broken game. So therefore: The Command & Conquer Communications Center and CnCWorld.org proudly presents! What this installation program does: - Installs the Westwood Shared Internet Components (optional) - Installs a few extras; Map Editor, Manuals, Icons - Installs the themepacks (optional) - Applies the LAN patch - Automatically applies registry entires - Downloads and installs the videos (optional) - Installs the game itself (obviously) Tested and works flawlessly on Windows XP, Windows Vista, Windows 7 and Windows 7 64-bit! Download here! If you find any bugs please report them here Have fun!

C&C and RA lag when backbuffer in video memory is enabled. If it isn't that then I have no idea.
-
The old version of CnCNet doesn't update properly and therefor crashes. As for your Generals problems. Run the game in WinXP compatibility mode and the shell-map returns!

Tonight at 02:00 CET we have to move the clock one hour forward because of spring fall winter summertime. Else you may realize the next day that somehow everyone has warped one hour forward in time while you are stuck one hour back in time! If you do do not try to contact Einstein because he wont help you is dead, just put the clock one hour forward...

Do you remember installing something or changing any settings in the time between you last played with sound and applied the 1.06 patch?
-
Patch from CnCNet? 1.06 is created by Nyerguds.... And as for the no sounds issue, I have no clue. There are no changes in 1.06 that affects sounds, maybe the install got corrupted somehow? If so reinstall C&C95 and apply the patch again..or download the full game installer from the 1.06 patch website, it should save some time...

There should be a WINE for Windows! That sounded odd

Some graphics cards have insufficient Direct Draw compatibility and incorrectly handles some of the effects in Tiberian Sun, this causes the game to lag. Some solution is to decrease Direct Draw acceleration in the dxdiag tool. Win + R and type in dxdiag. If you can't decrease acceleration then you are screwed. You can try activating Direct Draw emulation with the Microsoft Application Compatibility Toolkit There is a ddraw.dll lurking around that may fix your problem too-

He will release it no sooner than "When it's done!"
