I hope.... Geting it to work on CnC Net is easy. The hard part is that CnC Net doesn’t know Red Dawn from normal Red Alert. They get put into the same lobby. If a Red Dawn player tries to join a Red Alert room they get a compatibly error. This is also the same a Red Alert trying to join a Red Dawn room. Since there is no way to tell Red Dawn from normal Red Alert I chose not to let Red Dawn on CnC Net since it would cause a mass reporting of compatibly error. I have no idea how to get Red Dawn to be separate from normal Red Alert. If some one has ideas let me know PM work well. Notify me of replies ON.

I used it once. You can get it here. http://hifi.iki.fi/ra95-hires/

If you used disk to install the basic game the expansion pack files from redalert1.com won't work anyway. You can get the Counterstrike and Aftermath disk in .iso fourm that you can burn as normal CDs. They will be the same as the ones you have that are scratched up once you burn them as CD. Link has .iso for Full Allied Disk, Soviet Disk, Counterstrike Disk and Aftermath Disk. http://www.cncforums.com/new/local_links.php?catid=135 If this won't work I can upload the expansion pack files that were at redalert1.com. What Red Alert are you using? DDraw with the maxfps set at 120 attached in zip. Unzip it and place the ddraw.dll and ddraw.ini in the redalert folder. Than double click on rasetup.exe and check mark the Back Buffer in Video Memory. Notify me of replies on. ddraw_RA1_Scroll_Speed_fix.zip

I will look them over. First you don't need to update the briefings for the single player campaign missions. The mission.ini will over ride any briefing in them. mission.ini goses into the Main.mix/general.mix, also in EXPAND.mix and EXPAND2.mix. I'm not sure why Westwood has the mission.ini in EXPAND.mix and EXPAND2.mix as CounterStrike and Aftermath dose not use mission.ini for there mission briefings. What did you use to edit the CounterStrike and Aftermath missions? RAED is know to mess some mission coding up. If you didn't use Notepad or WordPad to edit them I will have to test each CounterStrike and Aftermath mission. You mix may not work as it name it is to long. .mix files should like this SC123456.mix. SC is what the game uses to know that you have added a mix file to act as a patch and you can only have 6 letters or numbers after that.

If HiFi gets it working I will make a Net Patch that will fix all the bugs and add a shortcut to CnCNet on the desktop. Did you have to change the RASETUP.exe? It should have been fine for all Windows based systems. I'm not good with Inno Script yet. I want to have it set up so that if you uninstall Red Dawn it will uninstall the RedDawn folder but I have gotten that far.

I had the Jammer Tower removed from multiplayer when I was testing the AI and never put it back in... My bad again. I put 200000 storage for multiplayer since it is pain the ass to keep building silos. The "EngineerCaptureLevel=100% and NewUnitsEnabled=1" code is repeated in the rules to make all aftermath units appear in all single player missions. If EngineerCaptureLevel=100% and NewUnitsEnabled=1 is not under [General] in the rules.ini. Aftermath units will not be in Single Player campaigns or Counterstrike missions. If EngineerCaptureLevel=100% and NewUnitsEnabled=1 are not under [Aftermath] in the rules.ini. Aftermath units will not be in Aftermath missions. [Aftermath] has number of need tags. If they are removed it is likely that the game will crash when you use a unit that need one of those tags. You will find [Aftermath] with NewUnitsEnabled=1, EngineerDamage=25% and EngineerCaptureLevel=100% in the mplayer.ini as well. If you remove NewUnitsEnabled=1 from the mplayer.ini you will not have Aftermath units for multiplayer. Arda patch will not work with Red Dawn. The Red Dawn game.exe use off sets that are not the same as the stock game.exe. IF I get HiFi to get CnC Net to work with Red Dawn I will fix the GDI ZOCOM amour bug, add Jammer Tower and lower the Refinery storage. You can do it your self as well.

I know of the tracks but kept the one used in C&C 95. Aftermath units are available for all single player missions. The Dog, Spy, Medic, Thief, and Mechanic available to all sides in Skirmish mode. The IFVL and Thief were available to all sides in Red Dawn 2011 if you had Aftermath enabled and the helicarrier was added for all sides in update 3 for Aftermath users. You can see the changes made for Skirmish mode in the mplayer.ini There aren’t enough units worth give to each side for Skirmish mode. The Mechanic is vary useful while Spy, Medic and Thief arn't much for Skirmish mode.

Mammoth Tanks requires a repair pad like in C&C 95. Lunar Battlefield was made by Westwood. A ton of things are done to it. Weapons, owners, armor and cost are change on a lot of units and buildings. If you have stock RA1 play the Paradox Equation single player mission from Counterstrike and The Hills Have Eyes Aftermath multiplayer map. They are both are like Lunar Battlefield. For Red Dawn I edited Paradox Equation and The Hills Have Eyes to play normal. Your right. Armor logic is reversed. Larger the number the weaker the side becomes. I knew Tib Sun is this way. I meant to test RA1 for it but forgot about it. Your again right about GameSpeedBias. I did not miss spell it. The normal Rules.ini from Westwood spells it wrong too. It needs to be "GameSpeedBias". Westwood has been known to miss spell a tag in the rules do to a bug it cause. There are a few know to be done like this in Tib Sun. I guess it was easier to remove a letter from the tag when testing and the logic behind the tag was never fixed or if it was fixed no one fixed the tag it self. It is spelled right in Tib Sun. Maybe the logic for the tag was never finished in for RA1...

I will be using Counterstrike and Aftermath. Red Dawn supports ALL Single Player campaigns, Counterstrike and Aftermath missions. Would it make thing easier for you to me to just to use the .exe from the expansions.zip? I got the expansions.zip before megauploads was nuked. It has the LAN fix that is need for CnC Net. I can make patch for Red Dawn to add the need parts for CnC Net play. It would look like this. cncnet.exe From online version mpgdll.dll From online version ra95.exe From expansions addon. Re-named to rd95.exe and change icons to C&C95 icons, No other changes unless need for CnC Net. wsock32.dll From online version

Yes it should. Being self-contained will make thing much better for all but the bad part is the file size got much bigger.

It been out. Thread in Mod Announcements first started on March 27, 2011 and updated today. http://cnc-comm.com/community/index.php?topic=1588.0 Or you can get it here and play around with it. “Red Dawn 2012 Installer” Required For Play (75.76 MB) http://www.mediafire.com/?s9bgej81txt3y85 “Red Dawn 2012 Movie Installer” Optional (165.84 MB) Win and Lose movies for all missions plus some briefing. http://www.mediafire.com/?pxh9dlfbme5dori I updated it today since the host was lost with Megauploads. I already ask about this once http://cnc-comm.com/community/index.php?topic=1769.0 I rebuilt it to be like the one you and cchyper did at redalert1.com. It is now full standalone. Applied the fixes listed in the “build.txt” to the redalert.ini also kept the registry fixes from Nyerguds for Vista and Win 7. The .exe is and old 3.03 that only has a no-cd fix and I changed the names on the registries that enable Counter Strike and Aftermath so I did not uninstall the Counter Strike and Aftermath registries that are for my stock RA1 that uses CDs again… It doesn’t have the any other fixes listed in the “build.txt”.

Mod support for RA1 somehow?

Re-Uploaded. Links are on the first page!

Yes I know. the US Gov nuked magauploads. Since that happen I have built and finished a new one. I have to find a place to up load it.

The non-no-CD version or stock install from CD dose not put all but the music and movies on the Hard Drive. For TD most mix files are read from the CD. Also since you messing with mix files you may want to go to see XCC Mixer ome page http://xhp.xwis.net/ and click on Documents than on MIX File format. Olaf van der Spek has some info on mix files.

I'm not sure 100% but... Most building shp files are in the conquer.mix however Civ Buildings are in desert.mix for desert maps, temperat.mix for temperat maps and winter.mix for winter maps. conquer.mix, desert.mix, temperat.mix and winter.mix are found on the CDs or if your using a no CD set up they will be in the TD folder. As for the load order. The game will load all know mix files first than any files found in SC******.mix files. If TD is like RA1, The game will load most shp file fine but for icons and side bar files from the SC******.mix files. Notify me of replies set.

You need to convert the MP3 to AVI or WAV than use XCC Mixer to make it a AUD. You can not add any more tracks that than game has so you will need to replace one. The stock music is found in the Main.mix on the CD in scores.mix. XCC Mixer or XCC AV Player can be use to play the music in the scores.mix. Once you find the track you no longer want copy the file name and name you newly converted MP3 with that file name. Pack you new newly converted MP3 in to a mix file that starts with SC*****.mix (* is for any numbers or letters you want.) You can name the mix file SC-MUS.mix place the SC-MUS.mix in to the Red Alert folder. The name on the in game play list will be the same unless you edit the conquer.eng file with a Ingame Strings Editor. Notify me of replies set.

General Stavros uses usual trooper voice when owned by Soviets. Spy dose the same thing too. This is hard coded in the game.
-
No I did not. I even PMed him about it....
-
I had everything still so I lost nothing but same can't be said for other. If you don't have a hard copy of it you better get them soon.
-
Thanks. I'm not sure how you want to do this and I won't be ready quite yet. I made a new full build so Red Dawn is now full standalone. I want to try it on my Win7 PC before I upload it. I build on Win XP. This way I can make sure that the installer puts all the Vista/Win7 compatibility registry keys on and to make sure that I didn't leave any thing out when I made the installer.

Megaupload.com shut down by Feds today and well there went my host for it. Red Dawn has been out since March 27, 2011. With the Feds poking around all of the big places I would like small safe place to have it. This seem like one but I know things are being rebuilt right now. If it could be done after the rebuilt or some other place like this would be nice... Notify me of replies is on....
