  1. if you wanna add a faction i recommend using TsClient. Ask rampastring for more info.

Cncnet is not open source,  its meant for the original game play but there are mods uploaded you can use in a map and play online, check inside the mix folder with xcc mixer.

My way to add factions tho is to turn startunit into dummy, and add the factions mcv with a reinforcement trigger, thats the only way for cncnet to add factions, using spawn locations.

Check the '5 mod mix' i made if interested, or download tsclient and ask rampastring or bittah commander.  Also get on discord if you're not there yet

I have created a mod map called 'Protect your People'. Essentially you each start with 5 civs and if they die you lose. I have issues with it though which cause one player to have to be Nod and one player has to be GDI and they have to be in proper spots on the map in order for the civs to be on the right teams. I believe its because i dont properly understand "houses" or some such.

I also had another idea for a mod (haven't started working on yet or anything) in which one player starts in a city which they must protect (with limited resources which are given at certain intervals) for a certain amount of time against an opponent who recieves reinforcements of some kind at regular intervals... if so many buildings are destroyed player 2 wins...something like that..

Yeah u gotta add Spawn houses. it is a little confusing indeed but if u have the patience to learn you can make anything you like, what u do is u add

in your map. U don't have to do this anymore if u use the updated final sun

But since you already started the map without the final sun update, you gotta open your map file and copy paste this somewhere in there.

Then after u save it and open it again with final sun, you can simply pick Change Owner, and change the owner to the spawn location,  (waypoint 0 is spawn1, etc) But then you need to make sure all players are there ( or at least add AI's to make sure the spawns are there). If you want it for any amount of players, you have to use a taskforce, team and trigger 80 :reinforcments, there are a lot tutorials on how to do that if you don't know how, its worth learning it if you enjoy map making.

Your map idea, that does sounds cool. that is also very possible. There is a trigger with event "15 Destroyed, Buildings, #..."

it triggers when the number of buildings, owned by the trigger's specified house, have been destroyed.

That is a pretty cool idea and i was just thinking to make a city faction where u are a city-building like faction lol. also known as "The forgotten"

What about the map, with HUUGE lake taking most of its space and only accessible parts are edges, corners and Tiberium Island in the middle of the lake. Skirmish map like this would be very interesting... :P

That just sounds like anyone could make with final sun :P

there are 3 maps i made/edited that kinda look like that, and they have buildable boats and harbor

  3. So to kinda get the idea of whats possible, check out my maps, skylegend and ptapiok's maps.

Oil derricks are also possible, other ways to get money is by amount of kills and or buildings, or a 'by map spawned vehicle' that keeps to a script (like the boat in map Harbor wars)

    Boats are available

You can start with any unit

Basically anything in rules.ini is editable too, so also take a look in there.

Unfortunately we can't create anything on 'when a player dies' (has to be implemented)

Just know that there is a lot possible, please just post any idea, let your imagination go wild and I'll let you know of its possible

  4. A, easily done with [NAOBEL]Power=

B, already done that a while ago oblisklol.gif.9702c22ce485ef00729593f7cddbd75a.gif

C, thats easy, quick [LaserFire] 's color edit

D, Volume louder not possible, but can change to any other scream or sound (CHECK TIBSUN.MIX>sounds.mix with xcc mixer to find your sound)

You have to put the code edits in a map and play that map lol. And i do agree it'd be cool if its u deployable!

Im on my phone rn ask me later if u want me to give u the codes

  5. Is it what it is. Why don't u guys do what some of us do and make your own maps with your edits. Thats the beauty of a deserted game like TS. Everything TS based outside of original TS is made by fans like you and me, so rather then to want or demand things, just enjoy whats already there. Fans made alot of stuff. Check ppmsite.com's forum

  6. I don't think anyone is gonna answer this seriously bro lmao.

Good classical music resonates with the eternal void which we are, thats why there is silence in the music. In music of the mind however, it is subject and object, form-based. These meastro's as you call them were clearly saints, and like any saint they bring a gift into this world. I don't see why they should fight lol. Perhaps the noobs should spec the maestro's. There are even great fighters who are so 1 with life, nobody can stop them. They fight with respect and humility, effecting the world and the cheering crowd and even the world without them knowing it. Its hard to keep this ontopic man, it has nothing to do with cnc. Lol. You can always compare bits of it with gaming but lol ima start talking fucking spiritual and shit if i dont look out. I think its against the rules to talk like that eventho i always wanna derail any topic to a topic about mindcontrol, chemtrails, and us appearing as finite entity's. Just cuz i see the delusion of the mind identified state, the little me. You wanna be great like Bach or Monteverdi? Then read the spaces between these letters and listen to the silence between their notes

  7. Thaha ok. I would enjoy to see proof of that. Its just that these guys are so experienced, they click so fast, they scroll so fast, have absolute control over everything so skilled, you can't top that. Giants could be seen in a way as a runaway from that skill. But if they decide to get used to giants, very quickly you won't stand a chance no more. It will be like 20 yrs vs 5 years of experience. Theres no way dude.

But yeah i agree its still about the fun. But commenting this message is fun too 😛 now i feel like playing some giants and sneak some stealth stanks in lololol

  8. Nice1

Yeah Pony, ive also beat pro's on giants lol. But let them play another one with you (let him know the mods) and you'll just never win, even with all the 'rules' in giants lol. But if you do win they might enjoy it for a little bit, but will quickly retreat to westwood maps cuz of all the limitations giants has.

On topic, sure. But i don't put my shoes in the same closet as my clothes. Yet they make the full picture together.

I somehow have a fascination about wolverine. Its meant for mission maps, but the uselessness of it in multiplayer maps opens a dimension for modders.

I guess thats all i have to say. The way the game was intended like x3m described is limited ofcourse to the makers research and creativity. Then, the people form the game. So its a good reason to listen to the pro's. And ofc look beyond ego lol

  9. @OnePostPony Play with them for a little bit bro. Its really cool. I've also only played gso and giants for the last few years, but you'll notice how watered-down those maps actually are. Spec them, ask for tips or to get coached, you will find many many great strategies are being used that you'll never find in mod maps. Or just watch some of the recent terrace videos, or the new Pressure map by Humble, just observe without any judgement. Empty your mind and watch their techniques, in spec mode you can see what theyre building by clicking their factories and by selecting their units you can see where theyre commanded to go and you will notice the max use of hotkeys: Q-ing, selling, place/repeat building.. the way the handle their infs, retreat scouts, hunt scouts, build orders, bomb incoming titans, manage 3 attacks and defence all at once. Communicating on voice chat it becomes even more interesting, sharing controll when your dead or dont need a team of units no more and let ur allie use them, expanding tricks, harvester tricks, etc etc..there are so many skills to learn.. Its a true one-of-a-kind game with skills to look forward to to learn.. or stay with gso and giants and program yourself that foundation. I know most pro's dont appreciate the avarage laggy players and or low skilled so you need a (normal) decent PC and be eager to learn. They'll give you a chance. It helps not to be cocky/ empty your mind :)

  10. This is a command line tool that allows you to add or subtract two INI files. This probably sounds strange, but it's really handy. When you subtract two INI files, the result is the difference between them. When you add two INI files, the result is the combination of them. Note that you can turn/ copy paste any file (map, mpr etc) into an INI file.

As a map maker you easily use the same mods you've used before, so what I've done is I saved every mod that i used a lot, in a seperate INI file. So that you can use the software called XCC_INI_CLT, to easily add it in your map. Just so there is no hassle of listing the mod in its appropriate list, like every new building needs to be listed under [BuildingTypes],  same for new/cloned infantry, vehicles, warheads, animations, and triggers, actions, events, tags, teamtypes and so on... Its just so much easier to use this software whenever you have an idea for a map, and even add or subtract the basic things like Auto-Ally, Free Radar, Reveal map, Giants mods etc. This trick is very do-able, even if you're a modding noob, i recommend you to still give this a shot

Note: This tutorial explains an alternate way to add mods to your map, no coding/modding skill required. The reason I don't wanna tag this topic is because the software can be used for all games that have editable INI files. So if you're a mod maker you can do the same thing and make separate files for your mods, and use this software to add/subtract them. Mods i added in this topic however, are for CnCnet Tiberian Sun.

Maker of XCC Utilities, Olaf van der Spek created this around 2002 i believe, and its still handy to this day. Here is the original tutorial: https://xhp.xwis.net/utilities/XCC_INI_CLT.html Original download: https://xhp.xwis.net/utilities/XCC_INI_CLT.zip

First a simple explanation how it works. If you want to add mods in your map, first copy paste the content (all the codes) of your map, into an INI file. (CTRL A= select all, CTRL+C=Copy, CTRL+V is Paste) You can use an empty INI file i included in the pack. Give it a short name.inifile3.gif.785f5df63061f2a4b3088da22f0848a9.gif

This little program needs to be in the same folder with the ini files that you like to add or subtract, so make sure the software file is in there

then you need to open command prompt. You can do that with your windows search, or in Start> Programs, or to press Windows Button + R, type: CMD and press enter.

Now you gotta navigate to the folder with the software and ini files in them. To do that, Type CD and follow with the folder path (just copy and paste), and press enter so for example like this:

Now, like in the original tutorial, type the software name XCC_INI_CLT follow with the files you want to add. It works like this: File1 + File2 = File3, so the File 3 will be both files added up. So how i like to do it is mymap.ini + autoally.ini mymap.ini  This way the mapfile will have the autoally added. So you type:

    XCC_INI_CLT mymap.ini + autoally.ini mymap.ini

and press enter, and add all the mods you want, like this:

Now just Copy the content of the INI file, back into the map file, and you got all the mods in your map :D

I've used this first for bigger mod projects and merging art.ini and rules.ini, but i figured since there are so many mods, we can use it this way as well. I will keep adding mods to this topic, Since we have fan made mods uploaded to the cncnet client in TS, this will be a great way to add them to your map. I have not organized all the mods I have in the attached rar file, they are very messy right now. I will update and edit these files as i gather more stuff.

    Mod inis.rar

  11. Lol. I agree with both of you. Playing Terrace with the pro's will make you experience tibsun on its fullest, how amazing the game strategies are. It will give you a true satisfied fullness of what a game has to offer. You can't find that in many other games. Giants is fun ofcourse, like u said cuz ts is awesome. But experiencing terrace games is like no other. As a map/mod maker i honestly have to say that.

  12. I believe i remember you, didnt u always host a game in xwis? I remember seeing that name so many times.. i was under abom39 but nobody remembers that name lol. Ive been most active the last 4 years on cncnet... they did such a wonderfull job to keep it alive. You'd love it, with all the new hotkeys, functions, faster loads and crazzyyy skilled players that you can spectate as well, and you can get back into it pretty quick!
