  1. Well I'm obviously biased since it is my map and all, but there is a reason c0rpsmakr, demise, kapa, avan, and tons other elite players actually like the map. Saying it is like BBG... maybe if you play it in Firestorm mode, otherwise the money is very similar to Terraces, just more balanced. Honestly, anyone good on Terraces should be equally good on Throwback. The fact you don't even know what The Pit is makes me think you might need to broaden your horizon and get out of your box a little more, lol. Awesome 2v2 map, also made by Seb like Area 51 is. I have had several discussions with you about fixing the cliff glitches in River Runs and other maps, and every single time you tell me I am wasting my time and it is worthless to fix 'cliff glitches'. Actually, you and Tabrnacle are the only two players that seem to think this. But anyways, yes I have already fixed the glitches in 'A River Runs Near It' that cause harvs and other ground units to stop (pathfinding issues due to broken cliffs). This is why I'm always playing WW maps that say "Cliff Fix" and what-not.
  2. Special thanks to Michael and Cambria for helping Xme and I so much with speculating games and organizing everything. Special thanks to everyone who played / is playing in this event, without you guys this couldn't happen!
  3. Games began right around 7, which is not very much behind schedule. Even if your games began at 6:00 PM on the dot, you signed up and would have only been able to play 1-2 games anyway, so why would we rush things just for you to have to drop out anyways. Given you had discussion right here in these forums estimating how long games average, you honestly should have known better than to think you were going to get your games done in a the very short window you had, not to mention if you were in a long game when the 'netflix craze' began, it would of wasted whoever's time you were playing with. The goal was for everyone to be online during the same window, which is why we were playing FF games for hours with no delay right after the event. Obviously, this is not a perfect system, but we are doing the best we can with what we have to work with. Ray is not the only one, there were several players trying their best to make it on time, but just a little behind due to their schedules. Even Cambria was a little behind, who is one of the main people helping us organize this. Actually, both destroy3r and Tigerr were very understanding and both wanted us to wait to get the most skill entered in the tourney as possible. One thing is for sure, this went a lot more smooth than many tourneys in the past have. The timezone issues you mention are exactly why we were some-what reasonable with people like Ray that were just a little late getting online. The fact that both of these players stayed on for hours after the event playing Forest Fires games with us says enough on this I think. This is someone very many of us have repeatedly been saying, and we are obviously waiting on CNCNET staff to finish some things up on their end. Trust me, we are all looking forward to this. That is exactly why we choose not to require a sign-up fee for now, but as others have mentioned it could have very many perks once established correctly, especially if others can donate to each other's signup-costs. It is our pleasure, and all we want out of this is to boost activity and hopefully bring back some old players. Honestly though, some more patience and understanding, or even positive suggestions are what we need.
  4. Several others have also suggested a sign-up fee. I like your idea of allowing players to pay for other players fees, that could help a lot. We wanted to make this first attempt as simple as possible, but have some more intricate ideas for future events. As far as donating to Xme and I, both of us would much rather see old players coming back and playing, than sending us money. All of our time and effort put into this and other projects are for the purpose of bringing old players back / boosting activity. I do think, however, that it would be a great idea to allow donations to go towards increasing the cash prizes of these events. We are considering hosting a 2v2 tourney next, possibly on Throwback or The Pit, and considering hosting a 3v3 tourney after that on Area 51 or maybe even A River Runs Near It (I noticed a lot of modders are exceptionally good on this map and this is one of the most balanced maps in the entire game). Also - As I keep saying, ladder and even clans will be back to TS relatively soon. When this happens, it will allow us to host month long events and get a lot more creative.
  5. The games that were recorded are now uploaded here: https://www.youtube.com/playlist?list=PL9qts6_fr1EgaYHTsGGri_dEsAi8aqvn7
  6. Can we have the link please? Thanx. We still have to comment on, convert, and upload to a YouTube channel. We should have the recorded games up in a day or two.
  7. I streamed a few of the games and recorded the games I streamed. Going to also stream / record all of the semi finales and finales.
  8. Whoever he is, he has told me he is not playing in this tourney.
  9. If you are signing up for the tourney it may be a good idea to play a few games and make sure your settings are setup correctly Let us know...
  10. I hope Ray or C0rpsmakr win, cause they are donating their winnings to make next tournie 2x prize value
  11. Regular Tiberian Sun. As of now we are planning on using Paypal, but open to suggestions.
  12. Everyone's suggestions are appreciated and welcome. This is actually the purpose of this tourney, is to bring out more ideas and boost player activity, which both seem to be working so far. What hitman said is why I made Throwback, and why Skylegend made his Dessert map, but unfortunately it is hard to replace Terraces when everyone likes playing what they already know. Eliminating cliffs is a real bad idea, because it takes a level of skill out of the game. Now, if cliffs were evenly distributed and on same levels then that would be cool. We are planning on having one every month or two, so you guys better get to work making some maps that steal the glory from Terraces
  13. We will off course be having tournies on other maps, like Forest Fires, or Dueling Island, etc. etc. as well as team play events in the future. We are just trying to keep things simple for this first test run :-D I am just going to assume anyone who doesn't make it is scared of Ray
  14. Added! Added! (I is a weird ? lol) Added!
  15. We are for sure trying to reach out to those in that list already, part of the issue is a lot of these players didn't know a tournie was coming up, and skylegend for example is out of town working with his uncle or something, but might be back any day. We still have some time to go, so we are hoping we get more sign ups in the mean time.
  16. XmeXyou is in charge of the roster, so if he decides to post a list of sign-ups so far that is up to him. Worse case it will be posted before the event starts. I will say that you are going to have some major competition with the sign-ups we already have, so nothing to worry about there. I personally guarantee we have some heavy-hitters signing up and we still have quite some time to continue accepting sign-ups over the next 2-3 weeks. Activity is not going to be an issue here at all. We actually may have better turn-out than anticipated, which I hope is the case. If sign-ups continue the way they have been, I will be increasing the total prize money from 120 to probably 200. @Trz, please keep in mind that semi-finales and finales are on the 18th. (We did this to keep the tourney time-range more reasonable for other time zones. Some players will be playing at 1 am and others at 9am, so we did not want too huge of a window compressed into one day). 1st place will get the biggest chunk out of the prize money, 2nd place a bit less, etc. etc. As Xme stated above, places 1 through 4 will all receive cash prizes. We even have several heavy-hitters that if they win 1st place, are donating their prize money back into the pool, so the next tourney would then have double the prize money up for grabs You have a good point about top spots. We will highly consider making first round best of 5. The reason we planned on 3 for the first rounds, is that we may have a large amount of sign-ups and depending on amount of players, it may be rather time consuming. Xme, and I are going to spec the majority of the games, while live-streaming and recording, and upload all of the games to a special YouTube channel. Other trusted individuals may also be helping us spec / stream / record if needed. Either way, the semi-finales and finales will all have either Xme or I as spec. You have a good point with the screenshot issue, and I will ask Xme if he can re-enable auto-ss (at least for this event). Something for anyone reading this to keep in mind, is that this is also a pre-cursor to bigger and better events like this to come in the near future. We have some big plans for TS.
  17. "Default map is going to be 'Terraces (TL can Exp) (AirFix)', unless both players agree on an alternative WW map. If there is disagreement on map to be played, then 'Terraces (TL can Exp) (AirFix)' will be played." This is exact same as Terraces, but aircraft do not catch on edges of map, and Top Left does not have to toggle to build over the cliff. For now the basics: June 11th will be best of 3 matches. On the 18th, the semi-finales will be best of 5, and the finales will be best of 7. Also, some people have mentioned to me that because of the lack of posts in this forum thread, that they assumed only a few people signed up. Most of the sign-ups are happening through private messages, thus the lack of messages here. So far we have roughly 20+ people signed up, composed of a wide variety of skill levels. We may even have a special guest or two. The main player I personally would like to contact about this tourney is Kapa371, but he has not been online in a while. If anyone knows a good way to get in touch with him, I think he would be excited to know about this. Kapa always liked these events.
  18. That would be very much appreciated mate. This is in full force ahead! We are planning on having one of these every month or two, on top of prizes for winners of ladder when that is up as well!
  19. We added you to the roster Michael. Anyone else having issues signing up is welcome to get in touch with Timmy, Xme, or I in the game or in this thread. Default map is going to be 'Terraces (TL can Exp) (AirFix)', unless both players agree on an alternative WW map. If there is disagreement on map to be played, then 'Terraces (TL can Exp) (AirFix)' will be played. In the future we will have many different types of these events, this is just the beginning.
  20. I believe this is a feature that will come along with the up and coming ladder / clan features - in hopefully very near future here.
  21. Eastern Time (EDT): June 11th / 18th- 6:00 PM Greenwich Mean Time (GMT) / United Kingdom (BST) / Central European Time (CET) : June 11th / 18th - 11:00 PM Australian Eastern Standard Time (AEST): June 12th / 19th - 8:00 AM
  22. @ Rampa: That is good to know! We would of course want to keep the game play un-modified other than glitch patches and such, this is possible with your client? It would be really nice to see Xme be able to go to town on a client for TS. With that said... Funky's client is getting more nice all the time and has a ton of really nice features
  23. Hello Rampa! What is your position on allowing XmeXyou customize a special version of your client for the TS Community? Often it comes up that your client might be easier for what we keep asking Funky for and I am just wondering your thoughts on this!
  24. Where are all the players at that play the Big Boy Maps for ages 8 and up? All I see are Giants games.
