Was in a ffg last night and some guy claiming to work behind the scenes with cncnet was talking about how the ladders have secretly been set and ready to go since November! He claimed the staff here is afraid to implement the ladders yet since the current cncnet server load is at a max carrying capacity. Apparently a 5x, estimated, spike in activity w/ the ladders may cause an outbreak of crashes and kaboooom messages across the board. It's not that the ladders aren't ready, it's newer server hosts that are needed. Well, this is what someone was saying. I don't know much about IT. More than likely just a rumor.

    Survival

What you gotta download is Final Alert 2. Once installed, make sure to right click and run as administrator for it to run properly on some of the newer operating systems. Google "final alert 2 survival maps tutorial" A few videos from youtube should be linked and also try ppmforums.com which should turn out with that google search as well.
  3. Probably should've added this post here: http://cnc-comm.com/community/index.php?topic=4492.90 Also you might need to add more details. System specs, operating system, YR origin or YR disc install, and most importantly (if there is one) your error log which can be found in your Ra2 game directory folder. Also what do you mean by after starting 4 seconds. Do you mean after starting and logging into the client? Do you lose connection in the lobby? Do you mean after launching a multiplayer game? 4 seconds after what? After the loading screen? Please add more details and we might be able to help you. For now, try selecting a different tunnel server when logging in. Also change the compatibility settings for CnCNet and YR under properties. Check your firewall settings then try hosting your own game and attempt a game with various players to make sure it's not someone else causing you to lose connection.
  4. It'd probably be a bit of a stretch to assume emergence of this AuF imposter somehow due to the aforementioned post on Xwis. My guess is some CnCNet member just fancied your clan organizing in the lobby and decided to fake his way into this suddenly active clan. The NRA and AuF clan tags have definitely helped give more of a PRO type feeling to the CncNet lobby. I mean it's definitely nice to see users organizing themselves with clan tags. Hell, I was about to ask one of you guys myself if I could make an AuF nick. I wouldn't worry too much about it though. I know registrations will be required once the CnCNet ladders are released. I guess people would still be able to register a fake nick with the clan tag still, but it'd be more of a deterrent for someone to waste their time registering a new nick every time they feel like copying a new clan they happen to see. Btw, I think all that hassle they gave you was bullshit in that Xwis post. Influenced me to make this topic that got locked right after. http://xwis.net/forums/index.php/topic/182782-so-let-me-get-this-straight-were-not-allowed-to-advertise-cncnet/ of course I was just giving them crap myself. lol, good luck to your clan. Hopefully they'll make private clan forums and clan ladders here on CnCNet.
  5. I've been having this same issue with Screen capture programs. Haven't been able to take any in-game screen shots.
  6. I would suggest the font color of the game room name be changed to a different color, maybe a red hue or something that makes it stand out. Just a minor suggestion.
  7. I know you can update yuri's revenge through the origin client aswell. Open origin then go to "my games" and right click yuris to download the latest update. Also, internal errors are usually caused by the mod map that you happen to be playing. Try downloading and installing these survival maps into your custom maps folder: https://sites.google.com/site/flyingzmaps/ Try playing them with other players and post back if you still get an internal even on those maps. Flyingz's survivals are some of the most played mod maps on YR. If you get an error on these maps then more than likely it'd be your system that would have something to do with the cause. Also i'm not sure on sync and except files either. Supposedly they're what can cause recon errors along with 3rd party software like map hacks.
  8. I promise you this is the single greatest naval map you will ever play on YR. Never thought naval games could be so addicting. We were playing this map for a solid 8 hours over and over. Gotta get some rest now though, but i'll be on later today so look for me under aWarKing5 nick. I'll probably be playing that map.
  9. btw if you have any oldschool survival maps please past them on to circulate into the community. We're in dire need of a few new maps.
  10. Right on. I'll try it out.
  11. The CnCNet client has been acting up lately. Since about yesterday before the 1.94 update was released. A lot of people are getting game version n/a, and kaboooom messages when trying to host a game. This is even after the 1.94 update.
  12. Origin just replaced Yuri's Revenge with Jade Empire for the on the house offer. This means Yuri's Revenge isn't free anymore and that steep increase of activity we've been seeing might begin to slow down.

Wiganfc. I recognize that name. Xwis huh. Welcome.
  14. This might be a bit much, but try doing a full system recovery. On my windows 8.1 I had the client crashing and lagging until I wiped the OS to factory settings. Most of my issues resolved after that.
  15. o.k. I got mine working. I did have to reinstall yuris and cncnet though.
  16. I got past the anti virus part by deleting macafee but now i'm getting another kabooom message. The client launches but I get the error message right when I click CnCNet to play online KABOOOOOOM "Yuri's Revenge has crashed. If you were in the middle of doing something, the operation has been canceled. The Process cannot access the file 'C:\Program Files (x86)\Origin Games\Command and Conquer Red Alert II\version_u' because it is being used by another process. Please see client.log for more info. if the issue is repeatable, contact the YR staff at cnc-comm.com/community." Here is my client log: 17. 11. 03:52:56.074 Unified CnCNet Client 1.15.6.0 by Rampastring 17. 11. 03:52:56.089 http://www.moddb.com/members/rampastring 17. 11. 03:52:56.105 Skipping reading statistics because the file doesn't exist! 17. 11. 03:52:56.105 Startup paremeter: alternative resources directory 17. 11. 03:52:56.152 Initializing supported game list.
  17. It seems some anti-virus software is causing some of these issues: http://cnc-comm.com/community/index.php?topic=4850.msg36852#msg36852
  18. Just checked my quarantined items under MacAfee and indeed it has quarantined "cncnetyrlauncher.exe" Only problem, after I restore the file and attempt to launch the client I now get a KABOOOOOM message saying "The CnCNet Client has crashed. Error Message: The system cannot find the file specified. See cncnetclient.log for further info. If you can reproduce this crash, please report it to the mod/game authors."CnCNetYRLauncher.exe not found. Please visit www.cnc-comm.com/community for support." I then rechecked my MacAfee quarantined items and again it continues to quarantine the same file. Only now if I try to launch it gives me the same message I initially got "CnCNetYRLauncher.exe not found. Please visit www.cnc-comm.com/fommunity for support." Anyway to fix this?
  19. I think I found a possible culprit to the issue. Today I launched the cncnet client. I Hosted a game and within a minute the client unexpectedly disappeared right at the time I received a prompt from MacAfee anti-virus stating some file was quarantined for my protection. After trying to re-launch the client, I get a message saying "CnCNetYRLauncher.exe not found. Please visit www.cnc-comm.com/fommunity for support." I'm not sure if the anti-virus software is the issue but this may be a possible hint. All I know is that as of right now I too am unable to play cncnet. I'll try to restart my system and see if this fixes it.
  20. that's odd. Maybe if you can download the update separately? I know you said you reinstalled cncnet but did you try reinstalling the actual Yuri's Revenge game itself? Hopefully an admin can get this fixed for you.
