I don't even know what you mean... I like version 2.8 of CCCP's maps. Not 3.5 - I don't agree with everything he does and am always debating points with him via other chat mediums I have many friends who play ra2/YR - I'm not exclusively "Team CCCP84" - I have great respect for his mapping skills and he really raises the standards for other mappers. There's a reason his maps are played frequently and are sought out to be official maps. Not sure what you are on about regards to being "easygoing to most of the community" - Are you somehow insinuating that my character is ill toward others in the community? Or do you think i'm difficult to get along with because i may not agree with everything? If Anything CCCP84 has raised the most bugs regarding the ra2 function on cncnet recently that have not been documented. You can thank him for addressing the ra2 Yuri Prime logic errors and also solving some recon issues for mappers regarding gap gens. His posts are there and are now useful references to those whom which to make a map. " you aren't easygoing to the most of the community" Please clarify what you mean by saying this...

Napsis Is the ra2 Psychic beacon The free unit if an undetectable unit simply for detecting submarine units as it should be in ra2 The ra2 function is broken in YR as it uses the YR engine to do it I'm not particularly a fan of the naval targeting stuff however

I'm not sure if burg has properly played Oceania. I played Oceania 15+ times without noticing any unit changes. I only noticed them when you told me cccp84. I didn't believe you so I had to open the map in notepad?

Yes - It's the tick box in the game lobby. When you host a game you can choose this option for ra2> It's not the exact same as red alert 2 but it's 99% close as Cncnet modifies the rules of the game to limit it to the mechanics of ra2 only Hope this helps

I once installed a patch to give YR the rest of the RA2 songs, however when EA or Cncnet was updated, the patch was removed. I'm pretty sad about this and it does suck not having those songs, but i can already see that this would likely mean i have to install the patch again every week or month every time an update occurs resulting in a cat and mouse game. Now I just play my music in a media player outside of the game I always did believe the ra2 soundtrack was superior and had more of an electro- grungy feel with nice breakdowns and tempos YR's OST in comparison feels a bit more like a bloated horror film, however i would much rather appreciate both soundtracks in all their glory. -
P is an in game hotkey - Maybe change it and retest? Make sure they dont conflict..

Big problem with CNCNET's RA2 / YR ore grow algorithm.

It actually doesn't matter for any of the reasons you think It matters for mappers who are trying to design maps with games that are set at a certain pace -If you make a map where each player gets 2 ore drills with a mid size patch and the ore regen works, it's dictates a fast pace. -If you make a map where each player gets 2 ore drills with a mid size patch and the ore regen DOESNT work, it's dictates a SLOW pace. SLOW games= bored players, broke players Strategic value has been compromised and people will not pay your map So let's say youre a mapper and you know about this problem so you give everyone 3x more ore drills to COMPENSATE Then what happens when they FIX the problem? Your map has now become rekool Maybe you don't want to make rekool maps? We can thank mcpwny for making those gifs. If I have any free time I will try to test myself and make a video as this thread is very hard to read and is full of accusations and insightful posts with not much in the way of evidence. We need proof I will see if I can record some time lapse video -
Not really, that player was afk and not producing any units. In a pro game this would not work as good players are always spending their money as fast as they can

The ongoing argument is that soviet rush is too powerful for allieds to get their tanks out and soviets can get a war factory out faster than allieds can and so the cost and build speed of the powerplant has been reduced to make a more even playing field for allieds to deal with the initial rush. Westwood really failed when thinking of planes - how often are they built in competitive matches? PAF is the only player who really knows how to use planes well to begin with, but the skill level to use them effectively at their bloated price of $1200 per plane, their weak HP, insane vulnerability to flak and unbeknownst to many their cost to repair (yes they do cost money to repair when they land) is hard to match. They only have 1 shot, and the 1 shot doesn't even do much damage, i think it's fair that the missiles are more accurate. I don't think they should have 100% success rate, but as it is against pro players, it is feasible to speculate they only have 45% accuracy I have not play tested this mod yet, but if the planes had 80% accuracy, that would be great. It's too easy to make a plane misfire as it is. It's also not like they serve anything representable like real life harriers either, they do not serve any anti air functions, not can they 1 hit tanks like i'm sure a real aircraft could (look up the A-10 Warthog) And it's ok to you that allieds have significantly worse anti air? I'm not saying allieds have mildy worse anti air, i could speculate that allieds only retain 20% effectiveness of soviet or Yuri anti air capability If you want insight, here it is: Anti air naval You need to remember that ra2 does not support true multi targeting An aegis may fire 10 rockets at 1 rocketeer, however it will wait until that rocketeer dies or moves out of range until firing at the next rocketeer. It will also overfire at it's target. It may only require 2-3 rockets to kill a rocketeer, but it will still shoot 10+ perhaps. I don't need to explain to you how flak works. It's ridiculous to compare Also I didn't see you comment on terrorists or demolition trucks, so i suppose you are happy with them as they are not used as much in competitive games

Yes i'd honestly prefer a "No France option, or a no Yuri Option" - maybe an expandable options section. We shouldn't criticise burg too much. What he had done probably took quite a bit of work with editing and play testing Of course it's optional and his intentions are of good nature and to help people who are new at the game have a better playing experience or to help on very small maps where the size of the map directly skews the balance of the game. Good job I say, but can you add a no France/ no Yuri option? Maybe I can convince cccp84 to play Yuri's revenge if there is a no Yuri option... I doubt it?

Try to download the map and find it. It should be possible for us mappers to use that function I personally think crate spawn idea in your base will make less lag but whatever you gotta do to make it work! -

That sounds like good progress Honestly you give me too much praise - I'm a Final Alert noob -Maybe another idea is you get reinforcements by chrono and it auto spies an enemy refinery off screen? - I'm not sure -You could also have a crate spawn in your base for every unit you kill with a unit of yours that patrols in ciricles.... maybe one that you cannot select and has very high speed and no weapon? *I think this is your best bet* - The other idea is Reinforcements by chrono and you get some chrono legionnaires to teleport into a grinder automatically I'm sorry, I don't have too many ideas or know how the miner logic works. this stuff is hard coded You may have to try some miner hacks Maybe you get an OP Chrono miner that mines very quickly that is no longer yours when you stop killing enemies? It's a very difficult challenge you have - I guess that's why Ares exists and not people like us trying to hack vanilla Ra2 I wish CNCnet had ares by default so we can have expanded functionality on some maps - but it's wishful thinking Good luck with it!
