  1. Hate to tell you but he’s basically the worst active player. Not even close to competitive.
  2. If you need help go to the discord or PM [n1]xME on the client. I’m sure one of us can sort out your problem.
  3. Well that guy didn’t last long
  4. Well we will never know since only one of us has the balls to get online.
  5. If there were more people available that could provide a competitive challenge nothing would make us happier. As it stands there are less than 10 active players capable of participating in a high level 2v2 game. 4 of whom are too ignorant and embarrassing to be seen in the same channel as. But id wager half my net worth that you won’t even be able to cover an infantry rush in a 2v2. All old schoolers are the same, especially the ones with a history of using cheats (90+%).. (I have no idea who you are so I’m not accusing you)
  6. I would say that map awareness is skill depth I wouldn’t want removed from the game. The units travel at a static speed so judging where they should be based on the amount of travel time that has occurred is a trainable skill. Not to mention you solved the issue on your own with the ability to team the unit. While it’s a reasonable argument to make that nerfing some skill depth would help close the gap between the top tier players and everyone else, it’s probably best not to make extreme adjustments in a RTS environment.
  7. Does this forum have an ignore function?
  8. Probably ok to unpin this now
  9. As far as the 9/10 skill level players go there is only room for improvement In the area of unit control. The strategic meta of the game is at its peak and there is nowhere else for it to go. As for the lower skilled players. I see a lot of people that still don’t understand situation awareness and what to do when. For example, your next actions are different if you use 2 disrupters successfully vs unsuccessfully, but many people continue to react the same way regardless. They also have poor pathing for their expansion building placement and for expansion timing in general. Some of that comes down to experience but I’d say 90% of it is simply a knowledge base on that when your main patch is maximum 75-80% dry you need to stop what your doing and get to your next expand. And then there are many players who have been coached and trained into oblivion, have 20 years of experience, have been told what to do on countless occasions, have speced hundreds of games. And are simply incapable of executing what they know. Some people will never be able to perform under pressure. You see it in all activities.. In boxing you will see people who have all the skill and talent in the world when they’re inside the gym but when they are in a match it all goes out the window and they lose the fight to someone way worse than them. The biggest advice I can give to new/struggling players is to practice and develops muscle memory for good habits so that when you are under pressure your panic reaction is to do the correct things. Just practice building out to the expansion patches on maps over and over in the most efficient and effective way possible. So that even when you are being rushed you just automatically put ur buildings down quickly in the correct places. Get a friend and practice disrupted/mk attack/defense. Practice building and engaging infantry rushes. Practice paying attention to the map and only looking at your base when you need to place a building down. Make practice games that are put in reps for all these things and then start playing 1v1s. But in your 1v1s don’t use shitter tactics like fast apc or 1 refing. Do things that are relevant for 2v2+ games like 4-5 ref with big infantry. And get in as many games as you can vs people at or slightly above your skill level. Don’t waste time playing against people significantly above or below you. The bad players will die easy and you won’t learn anything and the good players are going to troll/meme you and you won’t learn anything. And remember, even if you are losing don’t regress into doing last resort tactics like turtling and going all bombers. Treat it as a practice game where you continue to try and survive, expand, and retake control. Train unit control as often as you can with practice games. Even if your building and long game is horrible, somebody with high level disrupter/Titan/Mk/infantry control is going to get very far and be very dangerous. Finally. Remember to take your game play seriously. I’m not saying put it above other aspects of your life. But if you are going to spend time playing then put in effort. Especially if you are in a multi-player game with allies who are counting on your performance. Not caring about the game more than other games, friends, family, etc. isn’t an excuse to slack off and play half assed. Always do your best and go for the win.

  11. Thank you for supporting Tiberian Sun.
  12. I don’t blame him. It’s a shame that a small group of people continue to ruin things for everyone. Been the story of TS history all the way back as far as I can remember. The same individuals hating and sabotaging everything they are granted a platform to do so on. Hopefully we get a remaster also and the developers have the sense to ignore the right people if the community is asked for opinions and guidance. But i wouldn’t blame them or be surprised if they straight up ignored TS since any attempt they make to help it out will be met with storms of hate, hacking, and sabotage from our lovely player base.
  13. Repeating yourself with more words doesn’t make a point that didn’t exist previously suddenly appear.
  14. What is fair or unfair isn't up for debate. It's math If you hold a poll that has a fair and unfair option and 5 fair people vote for the fair option and 10 unfair people vote for the unfair option it doesn't suddenly make the unfair option fair.
  15. Sorry bro, you are reaching to the moon to try and spin this in a way that fits the results you want. 1 option won and the others didn't. No other interpretation is valid. With your logic the person who eats the most hotdogs in a hotdog eating contest doesn't win because the total hotdogs eatin by all other competitors combined were higher than his alone.. resulting in him losing the competition and everyone else being awarded 1st place. give up
  16. Can you name 1 change that’s been made through Vet?
  17. Can’t believe I agree with Amokk.. Now I have to question everything I know about life. ??
  18. I should add however, that players in the ladder are worth more points the higher their ranking is. On WOL people were able to avoid people who were trying to take points from them without risking their own via refusing to accept games from players who did not have a high enough ranking. It is not fair for the #1 rank player to have to risk a larger amount of points vs someone who is playing them on their throw away account. And it is also not fair for a lower ranked player to get a win on the #1 ranked player who is using his throw away account and not get an appropriate point exchange. we could hold a poll that simply asks “should games be fair” and I highly doubt in this community we would get a 100% vote for yes. Some things need to be implemented out of fairness whether or not some people like it.
  19. look under the balanced-vet catagory when opening the map selection menu. There are heaps of custom/original maps. We can make more for $15/hour (takes 30-60 hours per map).
  20. For the record, on WOL there were no restrictions to usernames able to play in the 1v1 tournament and you were able to set any map or options you wanted. Including maps with built in cheats and no title change. For example you could make yourself receive 100k credits by selling a silo. It was up to the players to keep record of the other players who hosted games with cheat maps. On the official ladders you didn’t get punished for cheating, pushing, or reaming either. So if you got the password to another players name you had free reign to steal all their points. And lets not forget dodging. All you had to do to avoid losing points to a better player was not join their game or ban them if they joined you. The cncnet system is superior in every way. I think having 3 user names is great if used respectfully. But unfortunately, it leaves open the opportunity to be manipulative by going on a different log if someone good is currently active in Q while switching to your main log If you get matched up with someone whose lower skill. I don’t believe it’s responsible to leave that ability in the tournament ladder even though some people want to have more logs to separate their gdi/nod/mess around game play. With more player activity this wouldn’t be relevant but I think until things are active enough to where multiple people are in Q at all times things should be limited to 1.
  21. Whats your response to the videos I posted about the tick tanks?
  22. Amokk, Believe it or not I do try to respect your opinions as a person who has been playing this game for a very long time. Remember that the primary goal behind a competition system is balance and fairness. I personally would not have any problems having some of those maps in the QM options as long as they're reject-able by the people who do not want to play them. The problem with many (battle day & giants for example) is that they unreasonably alter game mechanics (10x speed harvesters, super power plants, various modifications depending on which map version such as lowered cost to NOD units and increased cost to GDI units etc.). The space between player starting positions and long bottle necks also make it so that any unit that has to walk across land (titans, tick tanks, etc) are unusable. It's a poorly designed map that takes a lot of aspect of the game out of the equation even if we were to make a version of it that didn't drastically alter game mechanics. Some of the maps you suggested are on the ladder like GSO and Throwback. The vicroid maps don't make a lot of sense to be included in a tournament because there can be a lot of luck involved in being able to destroy the vicroids faster than your opponent. The maps also turns GDI into a unusable faction. While Blast from the past is a fun map it is far from balanced and there are other maps available that offer a similar experience. Most of those maps I have never seen or heard of before.
  23. @Sol I respect your imput but when it comes to competition one critical issue must be addressed. And that is fairness. Fact of the matter is the only stock map that can be used for fair competition is Tunnel Training. We cannot have a meaningful ranking system where the maps being played give lopsided advantages to 1 player. Doing so would make the competition meaningless. While there is a minority that clearly wants that to be the case I see no other alternative than “forcing” them to deal with an environment that is fair for both players. We wouldn’t be having this discussion if stock maps were balanced. But simple math shows that they aren’t. You can open final sun and delete tiberium patches to see the total value of tib in one spot vs an other. And you can count the grid units spacing one expand patch and others. It is critical that these things are equalized in order to have a playing field where there aren’t variables beyond the control of the players in the game. Its no different than having a Football game and requiring that one team wear a 20# weighted vest while the other team doesn’t. Or one team getting a goal post that’s 10’ wide while the other teams is 20’ feet wide. What does it prove if the team with the 10’ goal or no weighted vest wins? The issue isn’t legacy, it’s fairness. Fairness must be incorporated into competition. Suggesting otherwise implies that you have difficulty with basic life concepts like right and wrong or 1+1 equaling 2. vet maps = fair stock maps = not fair thats all there is too it.. might as well close this thread.
  24. Can you give some examples? Which maps aren't included that the rest of the community plays?
