Is there a easy way to do such a thing when using the RAE? I normally do it by eye at first then after the main layout is done the grids help a lot for smaller sections of the map/

Something like in this image would be really sweet so your map starts off right

They'll never be equal anyway; your picture clearly shows that. The top left harvester has the advantage because it stays a lot closer to its refinery :P

A good map layout actually has about the same base layout for any player.

Meaning that not only each has the same field. But each also approaches this field from the same direction.

 

The rest of the map can be mirrored.

You could design the map to have 4 equal resources, but make the starting point the same for all... then add a pathway so that all starting points are accessible the same way without any shortcuts or interference.

Nah. Just as dumb as the rest; they all just go for that top left corner. That one just has his refinery close to it :P
