SKRAPSTA Posted April 10, 2015 Posted April 10, 2015 the game lags way to much on cncnet, i dunno if its other peoples pcs or what but its unplayable.
FunkyFr3sh Posted April 10, 2015 Posted April 10, 2015 If one of the players got windows 8 then he will prolly lag the whole game since it isn't fully supported atm They are working on it though, so it will probably be fixed soon
SKRAPSTA Posted April 11, 2015 Author Posted April 11, 2015 i see, that makes perfect sense. i also have windows 8.1 and the game lagged for me until i remedied the situation.
SKRAPSTA Posted April 11, 2015 Author Posted April 11, 2015 i just played vs someone with windows 7 and good pc and the game still lagged to the point where it was unplayable. now i have windows 8.1 but i have used the videobackbuffer=no fix and it doesnt lag for me anymore, so why is EVERY SINGLE GAME lagging on cncnet?
Guest Mechacaseal Posted April 11, 2015 Posted April 11, 2015 Most the matches ive played are smooth.
SKRAPSTA Posted April 11, 2015 Author Posted April 11, 2015 ignore this guy ^ hes too dumb to distinguish between what is slow and what is fast.

Jacko Posted April 11, 2015 Posted April 11, 2015 I dunno, I've had some very laggy games of RA2... In fact a very large portion of them crash/dc before anything even happens.
Feda Posted April 11, 2015 Posted April 11, 2015 Some of them were laggy but about 50-60% of them worked fine. I'm not sure if you're talking about connection lag or game lag (like low fps/sloppy movement).
Grant Posted April 11, 2015 Posted April 11, 2015 You're using windows 8, you will most likely need this file in your game directory where CnCNet is installed. Try dropping this into your game directory, try a skirmish game (with just you and the AI), and toggle videobackbuffer in the client settings to see the best performance for you. https://www.dropbox.com/s/x10hvfosgn0k0mp/ddraw.dll?dl=0
SKRAPSTA Posted April 12, 2015 Author Posted April 12, 2015 OH SHIT that worked. feels amazing playing at full speed, was starting to think ra2 isnt as fast paced as i rememberd it.
AxelF Posted May 15, 2016 Posted May 15, 2016 Hello, You're using windows 8, you will most likely need this file in your game directory where CnCNet is installed. Is this file is up to date? The file is not available and I can't find it nowhere in net. I use Windows 10 and in CnCNet the graphic is very slow, the working renderer is TS-DDRAW without back buffer in video memory. I tried also a orher tunnel, but without effects. In Skirmish it works wonderfull, the graphic works very well. Thank you in advance.

You can find the file inside your game directory > Resources > ts_ddraw.dll
