Red Alert 1 Resolution

Hi, I have a little problem. I can't run the game into 1920x1080 without having a black bar between the bar where I can build my units and the battlefield. Any idea on how to make it possible without this black bar??

No fix for this, except lowering the resolution when the map is smaller than the res (like in this mission). This will not happen on larger maps.

Increasing the resolution won't magically make the maps larger

It would be nice to be able to centre the maps, but I guess that's no possible.

 

IMO a good compromise is a 1366x768 resolution. That's large enough to give you a nice overview of the battlefield without black borders on all but the smallest maps. I tried slightly higher widescreen resolutions but RA doesn't work with many of them (e.g. 1600x900 didn't work for me).

The black bar doesn't really change anything to be honest, its just a minor error because your resolution is too big.

You can keep playing at 1920x1080 no problem (eventually the maps do get large enough to not get this effect)
