Jeod Posted February 25, 2011 Posted February 25, 2011 I'm missing the videos for Tiberian Dawn after patching to 1.06c r1 and using ddraw.dll. Where can I get them again?
Nyerguds Posted February 25, 2011 Posted February 25, 2011 So, then you're missing the videos because you enabled NoCd mode, despite the explicit warning in the installer that the videos are on the CD, and that enabling NoCD will prevent you from seeing them. The option is in conquer.ini. Just disable it again.
Jeod Posted February 25, 2011 Author Posted February 25, 2011 I have The First Decade. I thought I wouldn't need it anyway. Why on earth would you not include the movies? At least make it an option in your next installer!
Iran Posted February 25, 2011 Posted February 25, 2011 Because the movies are at least 500~ MB, nyerguds site contains a link to the movies
Nyerguds Posted February 25, 2011 Posted February 25, 2011 So, you have TFD. Did you install the patch on TFD? Or did you just install the full game pack? Because simply installing patch 1.06c on TFD C&C95 should work perfectly. Heck, I made it on TFD. But if you install another full game in a different folder then that folder obviously doesn't have the videos.
Jeod Posted February 25, 2011 Author Posted February 25, 2011 Nah I wiped the original folder and installed 1.06c. I didn't know I could install over it.
Tore Posted February 25, 2011 Posted February 25, 2011 If you read you see that there is a patch and a full game version. Patch usually means an update to a game. It's all written on the damn 1.06 project page.
Jeod Posted February 25, 2011 Author Posted February 25, 2011 I know that. I installed 1.06b first, then 1.06c, then the hotfix. But what I didn't know was that I could do all that on top of the original TFD install.
Nyerguds Posted February 26, 2011 Posted February 26, 2011 On TFD, all you needed to install was 1.06c and the hotfix. It's called a patch for a reason, you know. And the site specifically mentions it's TFD compatible. Just above the screenshots: The patch is compatible with both The First Decade and the CD version of C&C95. That includes the C&C95 ISOs which EA has released. When the patch is installed on a First Decade installation, it will automatically enable the game's ini-controlled no-CD mode.
