Main Executable for Command & Conquer: Red Alert 2 stopped working crash
Grant replied to CrazyGambler's question in Support
Hello, it sounds like something is conflicting with the two in that case. Can you try installing a seperate install of the unmodded Red Alert 2 and try launching? Could you also upload your cncnetclient.log file when this error occurs? It can be found in your game directory. -
Hello, welcome. You can play online CnCNet if you have Yuri's Revenge installed, by just downloading our installer - http://cncnet.org/yuris-revenge Let me know if you need any further help.
-
Hello, do you have .NET framework 2, 3.5 and 4 installed?
-
OP: Nice, look forward to playing some missions soon. If you're placing 3000 maps in the custom maps directory, expect there to be 3000 map previews generated. (Which might take a while).

As reported by CNCNZ, there is now huge speculation whether or not there could be a new C&C Game in development. Key points: Potentially mobile fuelled EA Mobile is seeking an exceptionally skilled and enthusiastic Combat Designer. The ideal candidate has a proven track record designing and balancing various combat units, special attacks, powers, and combat structures. Find the full advert here

Ah, then yes you will need Yuri's Revenge installed to play the RA2 mode & Yuri's Revenge online CnCNet. There is an alternative server to play "RA2" while you wait for your disk though - http://xwis.net When your CD has arrived (or someone else can assist with your original question) you'll be able to play online CnCNet.

Grant replied to Razendsnel's question in Support
Thx for the reply! I'm currently on windows 7 sp1, running Origin installs. I've tried rerunning the installer several times and reinstalled the games 2 times as well. Both didnt change anything I can't seem to find the .log files, where are they normally located? Regards, Razendsnel OK, could you check you have .NET framework 2, 3.5, 4 and installed? I asked for a log, but if the installer is getting stuck then there won't be a log yet. If the installer did complete and the client crashed there will be a log in your game directory (usually named client.log or cncnetclient.log) -
Fantastic work

Anyway to make the CnCNet Client look more like this:
Grant replied to aWarNoob1's topic in Red Alert 2
Anyone could do it, but its a lot to do for one person. If tomson and I did it one rainy day we could achieve a similar YR theme to your screenshot, bar a few layout differences. -
Hello - sorry to see you're having trouble. [*]Please ensure you have .NET Framework 3.5, and 4 installed [*]Please upload your client.log, and/or cncnetclient.log file

CnCNet has been blocked or flagged by my anti-virus. What does this mean? It's down to it being a false positive detection. Often enough anti-virus software will detect a file being malicious due to either: - It being a new file that it's not seen before or is not common enough. - The way we protect the software from being decompiled. This is nothing to worry about! You can often remove this block by allowing it as an exception to your Antivirus firewall. To help us stop these alerts, you can also submit a report to your antivirus software company, they will scan the file in question and will come back to say it is false positive.

Hello - sorry to see you're having problems. Which O/S are you using? Which type of game install do you have? Is it a CD, Origin install, TFD etc? Could you try re-running the installer you downloaded, it could be a file has not downloaded. Failing this, could you upload your client.log and/or cncnetclient.log file in your game directory? -
The filename directory name, or volume label syntax is incorrect
Grant replied to VoDkA's topic in Red Alert 2
Could you screenshot the error of when it occurs? Thank you! -
Hello - sorry for the late reply. Have you allowed your firewall access to the CnCNet client?
-
Hello - sorry for the late reply. In the CnCNet client options, make sure your friend enables TS-DDRAW under Display options.
-
Hello - sorry to see this, are you able to upload your cncnetclient.log file in your game directory?

Win10 making your PC faster? Not necessarily. New ssd will do that for you amongst other things, but generally if Win7 works for you stick until you upgrade your PC, especially if its really old.

The spawner doesn't launch directly. So thats probably why Yeah, I was loading from in-game. I can't launch the regular YR client without errors. Any possible fixes? Sorry for being bothersome. You won't be able to launch skirmish saved games via the YR client. Only via the main game exe (gamemd.exe or Yuri.exe). If you play a normal skirmish game via the YR client what happens?
-
Great! Enjoy

Are your video drivers up to date?

Perhaps an optional theme that could be selected could be worked towards that. Tomson here on the forum would be the best guy to get it started. -
Now that you have CnCNet, launch CnCNetYRLauncher.exe, when it loads go to Options. Try a different display renderer in the dropdown list provided. Try ts-ddraw, save, go back to the client menu, try a skirmish game on fastest. Still laggy? Toggle videobackbuffer. Still laggy, toggle render to ie-ddraw etc. Work your way through those renderers and see how you get on first.
