Ah, I'm a collector of all things C&C1, so this one is really missing in my collection. I've wanted that poster ever since I saw Kane himself protecting it with his life fist, so I was thrilled when I first found out about the existance of this edition. Hopefully for me, you'll never find out My collection is 100% donation-driven though. I haven't deposited a single cent into my paypal. You'd be surprised what people give me just because I'm fixing and upgrading an old game

pichorra & Irony: the actual engines don't differ much at all, but memory management in DOS is a giant mess, which makes the final compiled exes a giant mess too. the only "simple" DOS programs are those smaller than 64k, which don't need a memory manager. -

What the heck? What do you mean with "creates"? We were talking about submarine cloaking. The Cloakable=Yes rules.ini option works on units just as well as on ships. And it IS what is used by the Phase Transport; check the mission ini. Man, I dunno. I got the game installed at least 3 times. Not like I tested that on TFD specifically. I just don't see why it would be different. Then just put your conquer.eng in expand2.mix? Pretty much all mods do it that way. Dunno why you would change it though. This IS an alternate reality we're talking about. They could just have said "screw the scots, we're calling it all England" Bloody hell, he removed the DOS stuff? Bah... Then again, DOS doesn't have a v3.03 anyway. -

Ehh... try it on units? It works perfectly. Never had that problem... should show up just fine. That's the 3.03 patch... the idiots put a loose conquer.eng in one of the patches before 3.03. This obviously got in the way of the 3.03 patch, which has it inaside a mixfile again. But since the patch was never made into a patch installer, it never got anything to delete it, so they just made the game itself delete it. You can fix it by opening ra95.dat in a hex editor, going to address 15113D and changing the byte there from 74 to EB. That will skip the command to delete the file. Eh, you mean patch 1.03, or just TFD? -
no idea what's up with that, tbh... I think the Rescue command is purely what helicopters execute once a civilian has entered it.

No, if you order a civilian unit controlled by your side into a chinook, it flies off the map and triggers the "Civ. Evac." trigger. It's used for the "rescue Moebius/Delphi" type missions

well, on pretty much any Windows system you have problems running applications if you're not admin. It's mostly due to developers not caring about rights and assuming you're always admin, or, in this case, the games dating back from before there was such a thing as user rights. So yeah, usually the main rule for tech support I got is "BE ADMIN".

Just tested it; an empty file works

yeah, that should do the trick. You can also see if creating an empty (text) file named english.vqa in the game folder does the trick. Could just crash the game, but you never know, it might work.

Doesn't the 3.03 patch fix the helicarrier problems for the German venison? The exes of the three different language versions of RA 3.03 are nearly identical.
