So, what do they say for 'wormsign'?

Disable Chinook flying away with General?

What? Seriously? So savegames no longer work properly without the original mission file? Huh. -
Wait, you're talking about Yuri's Revenge? Man, not a clue there. I thought you meant RA1. And, um, why would you not be allowed to use links? O_o
-
Yeeah. Don't install games with an in-folder settings file under Program Files, ever, or you'll need to forever start them in administrator mode for them to work properly.
-
Ah. Good to know

Try enabling Win95 compatibility mode on the exe file. It is disabled by my config tool by default since it conflicted with cnc-ddraw on WinXP, but it seems in Win7 it's best to combine them after all.
-
Easy for you to say. You're not the one who would need to hack the exe to actually implement it Fancy that. I am a moderator. And the one who brought you the larger part of all new features implemented in C&C95 Since pretty much ALL of your suggestions are completely invalidated by my Rule #1 Of Playing Old Games, this topic is deemed completely utterly useless, and is hereby locked.

You can't go beyond that anyway. The maximum map size is a hardcoded part of the game (which, yes, they actually changed when they introduced megamaps in the expansion).

Goatmessiah: Problem with singleplayer is that the options need to be correctly saved and loaded in savegames... -
Aftermath vs Retaliation? Wut? Retaliation IS Aftermath. Plus Counterstrike. Plus General Carville briefing videos. And IIRC the PS had a mouse you could use.
-
The actual music error in Voice Rhythm 2 requires a new file to be put in there, though.
-
Should've just attached it on the forum...

Just found out there's a hidden part in the first Red Alert 2 tutorial mission. Not really an extra mission, but certainly an easter egg. You can unlock it by ignoring the objective(s) and instead destroying your own Construction Yard, which gives you an Engineer, and using that to repair a broken bridge which you normally can't get across At the moment you cross it, you get the message "you're not supposed to be here!" accompanied by a cow's moo-sound. This sound can be triggered a few more times as you explore the map with the helicopter which you get in the hidden part. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=APpeAVFqV8w This shows only the first cow weirdness. There's another farm in the upper right corner, which does not explode, but again plays the moo-sound when you garrisson it.

Very nice! Someone should do this for RA, too. The CS tracks are all just shown as their internal codes in the list, if I remember correctly, and the VR2 track has a wonky-sounding part in it that was fixed in the version on Frank Klepacki's jukebox.

Suggestions and feedback needed for the Yuri's Revenge CnCNet 5 client
Nyerguds replied to Iran's topic in Red Alert 2
Fairly sure that's just standard Windows mechanics, though. Can't do much about that. -
I don't think that's really related to the map size.
-
Did you try the back buffer option in the game's config ini?

Basically... due to me currently not working on my patch, the cncnet team kind of evolved a bit beyond it. However, integrating their changes in the 1.06 project requires me to first clean up my own mess, which will take a while. I'm somewhat working on it, occasionally, though. Besides that, though, I kind of disagree on some of their changes on a principal level. As far as I know, they still use the expanded sidebar in which the power bar moving up/down animation is all wonky, moving the actual graphics rather than just the power bar. I won't put incomplete things like that in the patch.

It's not a long list... they sadly didn't do much of that. The Sega Saturn music has most of the C&C1 music (including tracks not on the soundtrack CD) as CD audio, the Covert Ops contains all its music as CD audio, and the RA expansion CDs both contain the same Counterstrike music, but the version of Voice Rhythm 2 on it has an error which Frank only fixed much later, in his online jukebox, so there is no true CD quality version of that (and the ingame version is wrong as well). Besides the official soundtracks, and the aforementioned Sole Survivor CD audio, that's it.
-
It's not too hard to find on ebay these days... but I still got the music uploaded in FLAC format http://www.mediafire.com/download/iup14tm5s3p385k/Sole_Survivor_FLAC.rar
-
The header comment of the rules.ini file actually literally tells you this, mind you ...but so many people fail to RTFM
-
All of the tracks in Sole Survivor are also found in the Playstation version of Red Alert's expansion packs; Red Alert: Retaliation. The Sole Survivor CD is the only way to get them in CD audio quality though As for SS Server, some research unearthed a "server mode" hidden inside the game itself, but actually getting it working correctly, and somehow making players connect to it, is apparently not easy.
