  1. @XmeXyou - Sorry I didn't even realised someone answered my questions above, thanks
  2. Oh another thing I wanna know: Why don't people make pavements to stop subterranean vehicles filled with engineers from popping up right next to their construction yards or warfactories or whatever? [*]Is it a waste of money? [*]Won't it buy you more time to kill the engineers because they have to deploy further? [*]I know you can make mobile sensor arrays, but just for that extra safety measure for a few hundred bucks. [*]What are some better alternatives to countering subs filled with engineers?
  3. Teching up in TS is weird, like for example (as GDI): you can't sell your radar if you don't have a component tower yet, otherwise you don't get a sam upgrade. if you sell your tech center before making an upgrade center, you can't make an ion cannon or seeker. It keeps the tech even after you sell the structure, but only for the buildings you currently have. It does make sense, but it's weird.
  4. Anyone know a link to, or HAVE an image of the TS tech tree? I know I can just play skirmish and learn it from there, but I'd prefer to be able to see the big picture, plus I'm lazy. And no It's not in the manual.
  5. "Set Rally Point (CTRL + ALT + Left mouse click)" This is incorrect. You don't need to press CTRL. It's also incorrect in the TS manual (maybe it used to be CTRL + ALT and was changed to just ALT at some point in time).
  6. :D You FAIL! I really can't tell if you're joking though, but incase you're not, then NO, this is not a test... wtf O_o ... these are serious questions that I really don't know the answers to. I wanna get decent at TS, but I'm not gonna get anywhere if I can't even get my settings right. I'm also more than likely gonna be asking gameplay questions as I progress.
  7. 1. What does 'Graphics Patch' do in settings? 2. When you get an internal error, does the game still produce an except.txt file? Where? 3. I read that tiberium on slopes create internal errors; can slopes created by cluster/multi-missles also cause internals? 4. What is the difference between 'Abort' and 'Surrender'? 5. Rendering: They all work for me (default, ts-ddraw, ie-ddraw, ddwrapper) - does it matter which one I choose? Is one better than the others? 6. What is 'No Video Memory' for? 7. What is 'Fake VSync' for?
  8. If you click on an enemy unit while holding ctrl + shift, then yes you might as well have just clicked. But if you click on the ground near the unit, then no. Ctrl + shift + click is useful for when it's difficult to target (click) the enemy unit. Take an enemy plane for example: if it's in the air, especially while changing directions, it'll be a little difficult to target it with your flak trak by just clicking on it (especially if you have a large screen resolution and the units are small). But if you use ctrl + shift and just click somewhere near the plane, providing the flak trak is close enough, it'll hit it.
  9. Rampastring and Grant (and maybe others) fix YR bugs on a regular basis, you don't need a mod for that.
  10. You can play and complete the single player campaign 100x and still not have a clue with how to play online vs real people. Maybe some of the more experienced TS players, from time to time and has the patience to train people, should log in with nicknames like: TS_Coach TS_Helper TS_Buddy (Don't use TS_Trainer because people will think that you're cheating!) so that newbies know who to ask for advice. I think this would be a quicker way for people to improve than playing campaigns. And note that the quicker they improve, the sooner you can have decent games with them. They can of course watch YouTube vids, but without someone explaining how or why something is done, they can only get so far.
  11. Ctrl + SHIFT + click does this, for: mirages, prism tanks, flak traks, apocalypse... and any other unit (including infantry) that does not fire while on the move. Ctrl + alt + click makes a unit guard/follow another unit.
  12. If Short Game = ON then you only have to destroy all the enemy buildings. Yes, if your enemy quits before you've killed anything. In which case you can win a match with zero EVERYTHING!
  13. I've tried that and every other option there (bridged, bridged-replicated, NAT, host only and custom). I don't get why it doesn't work because I can connect to the internet and browse around with both the host and guest at the same time. My guess is that the admins (or one of them) intentionally blocked VMs from connecting to cncnet intentionally to prevent multiple connections by one person. If they did, I'm sure they had a good reason.
  14. That's why you gotta make sure you know the person before going down on them. I've been there quite a few times, but I should be fine, I've known my uncle all my life.
  15. Same here, couldn't connect either (a while ago now). I tried to connect with 2 different VMs: Win 8.1 and Win 10 (not at the same time). I don't think the problem was on my end because I could connect to xwis through both a VM and it's host operating system at the same time. And I have no problems connecting to cncnet (non vm). *EDIT: YR
  16. I used to use Norton, but from cncnet, all I ever got was that "ws.reputation" thing (which only meant that the file hasn't been used by many users yet). I've been using Avira now for the past 6 months or so; it's free and so far have been just as good, maybe even better because my pc boots up faster (I've really gotta get a SSD) and nowhere near as many false-positives.
  17. I love how the snow terrain and forest terrain can be mixed together.
  18. I agree with everything here except about Destroyers. I'm not sure what you mean by 'do no land damage' because they're effective for taking out buildings near shores, unless you mean something else. The ospreys are pretty decent too.
  19. Well, when Win 7 was released in 2009, during the first year or so, I would not have recommended it. I reverted back to XP. But as time went by and more and more compatibility patches were made, I decided to reinstall it and was glad that I did. So my suggestion is, google around to see if any of your current games/programs are incompatible with Win 10, and if so, wait a while until a fix is released. If RA2 is the only thing that's incompatible, then you'll have to decided whether or not keeping Win 7 just for one game is worth missing out on a free upgrade for (I'm not sure when it expires). Or you can just go with the old saying; "If it ain't broke... don't upgrade it" (or something along those lines). Btw, if you didn't know already, you can remove that constantly nagging "Get Windows 10" from your taskbar by uninstalling the KB3035583 update.
  20. An official HD remake of C&C is long overdue, imo.
  21. The Origin version works just fine for me. But you can't just download RA2 by itself though, you'll need to purchase C&C - The Ultimate Collection.
  22. If you're using the Origin version of YR, shift + s would be the default hotkey. Check your hotkeys in the Keyboard section (in-game).
  23. Yep, it's the same hot key. The screenshot gets saved in the Yuri folder as a .PCX file.
  24. Some nice looking ones here, I wish I had the time to play them all I added the link to this pinned topic: http://cnc-comm.com/community/index.php?topic=4656.0
  25. Oh yeah, I forgot about superweapons, I'd prefer them to be always on too, especially against the Yuri faction, and also in matches where it's next to impossible to break a camper's turtle shell without supers.
