  1. I'm sure that I'm going to need the corresponding .bin files eventually, but so far I've only needed the .ini file to play the new missions (that I got from http://cnc-comm.com/community/index.php?topic=3012.0) and they seem to be working fine. What are the corresponding .bin files for?
  2. Thanx for these packs. I haven't tried the RA1 maps yet, but the TD missions (the ones I've tried anyway) seem to only work with the DOS version of TD (I have v1.19p). My Windows version is v1.06c r3 (by Nyerguds), which sadly cannot load these missions, which are btw savegames (as was mentioned above). Is v1.06c revision 3 the latest out there? Is there a way to load these old DOS savegames with the Windows versions of TD (stable and not crash, and preferably without having to do any hex editing )? *EDIT: Nvm, I found this topic -> http://cnc-comm.com/community/index.php?topic=2756.0
  3. I don't know why, but he dislikes, maybe even hates you, so much that when I posted a topic on XWIS about your YouTube vids, it was deleted in less than an hour Afaik he's the only admin that looks at the TS section so it must have been him that deleted it. But back on topic; A moderated ladder would bring more TS activity to CnCNet simply because TS is a competitive game. Players want some way to measure their skills, plus it'll be an extra incentive to play, and players want the bragging rights, amongst other reasons. But as I've said before, it'll be difficult to moderate a free-to-play game (but not impossible).
  4. Cool, thanx. I don't know anything about this github thing, so I'm guessing this fix will be added to the next release? I've also tried running it in VMware Workstation. It runs but reeeally slow and the sound is totally messed up (you hear the same machine gun sound effect repeated over & over & over & over... ). What have I done to deserve this?!?!? It's cool though, all the original versions and upgraded versions of the classic C&C games (prior to ones running on the SAGE engines) including RA1, TD, Dune 2 & 2k all work perfectly .
  5. Thanks for that. As for the version string, I downloaded OpenGL Extensions Viewer v4.1.7, and it says that I have OpenGL version 4.4 Driver version 9.18.13.3788 DirectX version 9.0c, June 2010, 11.0 Shader model vs_5_0, ps_5_0 I've played an older version of OpenRA on this PC about a year or 2 ago and it worked fine. Unfortunately I've already installed over it with this June 2014 version so I'm unable to check which version the older one was. I forgot to mention that after I double click the OpenRA icon, my mouse cursor changes to the 'loading cursor' for a few seconds, then does absolutely nothing. I only found the exception files after running OpenRA.CrashDialog.exe from the installation folder. I've also tried -running it as admin -different compatibility modes -installed in C:\Program Files (x86) -uninstalled (not just over-write) -re-installed in C:\Games\OpenRA -changed desktop colors to Medium (16bit) -changed desktop resolution from 1920x1080 to 1024x768 (both these resolutions work fine with other games and programs) -turned off all the 3D settings in NVidia's Control Panel
  6. I can't get this to work. My PC specs: -i7 3.2 Ghz -Windows 7 Ultimate 64bit -NVidia GeForce GTX 580 gfx card (driver is up to date and supports OpenGl 4.4) -341gb free hdd space -12 RAM -no other games or programs running I've already re-installed 3x and rebooted. Here's my exceptions.log: Operating System: Windows (Microsoft Windows NT 6.1.7601 Service Pack 1) Runtime Version: .NET CLR 4.0.30319.17929 Exception of type `System.InvalidOperationException`: No suitable renderers were found. I've already tried asking at the freenode chat thing, but nobody was able to help me
  7. MORE! MORE! MORE! MORE! ... and also commentaries while you're the spectator would be really good too, especially since no one else does them for TS
  8. The commentaries were good imo, except for when you started going off topic for too long talking about mics and what have you . Also, some people might have gotten offended with certain things you say, especially your opponents , but at least you speak your mind. But hey, when there's nobody else doing TS online commentaries, you can't really go wrong!
  9. Good thing I... uh... "borrowed" some of them http://cnc-comm.com/community/index.php?topic=2946.0
  10. Could be offensive to some, but otherwise, enjoy! https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=52wBJCNud3A https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Hnq9GGfU0Zk https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Ggl_XbyHNpo https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=wAigh3aL0s4 https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=n2Um8dhWwcU https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=sO0ZYU-ew5s https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=LQffoKq8JrY
  11. Yes, this forum needs more conflicts between members, everyone's too nice here, it's really weird. But jokes aside, a ladder would be nice. Yes you will see a lot more arguments and a lot more cursing in the forum (which is normal in any multiplayer-game forum), but once you get used to it, it's actually a good thing. A ladder will make matches more competitive (and hence more fun), encourage people to make "I'm better than you" posts, which are always entertaining, and most importantly, it'll generate more activity due to people wanting to play as many games as possible to achieve higher ranks. Just keep in mind that once the ladder is up and running, the workload for admins and mods will significantly increase due to hacks, exploits, cheats, analysing cheat/bug abuse reports, *banning, re-banning... and so on. But that said, I think the good things significantly outway the bad. *Since these games are all free, with the exception of RA2, banning could be a problem as the offenders can easily make new accounts, and IP-banning does not work. Just something to think about in advance.
  12. Try this one: http://download615.mediafire.com/vqahpkgggcbg/c4f43dh3bnubvcy/hecks2c.mpr ...it won't be a push over! Instructions: -download into your RA2 folder -restart RA2 -keep a stress ball within reach to stop you from throwing the mouse at your screen -go to Skirmish and choose "HecK Extreme Ai v2.0 by XMaDTanKX" The original topic made by it's creator is at: http://xwis.net/forums/index.php/topic/173027-heck-extreme-ai-v-20 The link at that^ topic no longer works so you'll have to use the one I provided above. Have fun!
  13. Late reply I know, I rarely visit this forum Just add -speedcontrol to your shortcut: (In Windows 7, right-click your RA2 shortcut icon -> shortcut tab -> Target -> add -speedcontrol). It should be similar to other Windows versions. Example: "C:\Games\RA2\ra2.exe" -speedcontrol Then restart RA2. If there is no shortcut file to your ra2.exe or game.exe, you can make one by right-clicking the exe file and choosing "Create shortcut". For more info on RA2's command line options, visit: http://modenc.renegadeprojects.com/Red_Alert_2. I hope this helped.

  21. CnCTube no longer exists unfortunately. However, XWIS now hosts RA2 videos at http://www.youtube.com/user/CnCRedAlert2.
  22. Cool. It'd be nice if more people online played the standard maps instead of just the mod maps as they add more variety to the game.
  23. I used to play a lot of RA1 in single-player mode and currently I play a lot of RA2 online. I've just recently discovered that RA1 is slowly re-building their community so I joined and started playing a few matches just for old-time sakes! Here are a few matches that I've recorded... Here's my very first online match... (sorry about the resolution, I forgot to adjust my recorder) RA1 - fir3w0rx(me) vs 1up Here's my 2nd... RA1 - fir3w0rx(me) vs Vassallo1 Here's one where I actually won!.. RA1 - fir3w0rx(me) vs cornuto Sorry, I just realized that there's a "Red Alert Series Discussion". Can someone move this post please, thanks .
