Haha no it was Red Alert for me today but you made TD sound inviting so I'm going to bump that up on my list to jump into next
-
Aha so like my first match since coming back that i had today, not the best experience. I didnt pay attention and the match started on max speed, unlimited credoits, and some whacky rules, I was frantic trying to figure out what to do haha. It was kind of fun but, not good for shaking of my rust. It was hard finding a standard match today too But I'm sure there's plenty of them to be found, and there's some people I've scheduled matches with so there's that. But i now understand a lot better what the situation is like. Something definitely should be implemented. A lot of cool people playing though, which is always nice

This is awesome! I suppose I can help add video content by streaming and commentating on matches, and providing videos of replays.

Good input. " The settings are mostly locked: Unit count: 0 Credits: 5000-10000 (optional) Bases: on Tiberium: on Crates: off Separate helipad: optional Cap the Flag: off MCV redeploy: off " You said they were mostly locked, which confused me :P

I see. " no mass tib blocking attack paths " I could actually see a lot of strategy with that, denies infantry, but allows vehicles, among other things. Like, a flank of infantry and a few vehicles to start the flank, then the massive vehicle flank crosses the tib field. I mean a lot could be done, that's one example. I mean what's been discussed so far seems like it should be implemented right away. I can't foresee any issues from this, and nothing negative from community feedback. It's not like it'll hurt anything, you know? Also, are all lobbies like that with locked options? I hope not
-
In game advertising could help. At least, from my experience anyway
-
The lobbies or forum? I guess my real question is.....you can click links now via cncnet client?
-
Maybe have a label, that you can mouse hover over for further explanation, that explains it and shows simply? For example: -Fun Map (Hover Over For Details) -Competitive Map (Hover ov blah blah) Maps could default "Uncategorized" until a mod or someone decides what it should fall under.
-
Oh man I better start shelling out maps ASAP then. I see what you mean though, I remember those old days....and I remember a few years ago on cncnet as well. My first match back somebody spammed v2s and won, with nothing but v2s........I forget what happened exactly, I think it was a modded map, or a vanilla balance change that needed to be fixed. Anyway, thank cleared up a lot for me, and I'll check out those links (even though I already know how to balance maps, there's always something that can be learned!)

OpenRA is dying, and it's because of the frauds and shady people who maintain thing's and run the show. More and more people are leaving OpenRA because the behavior and attitude and (lack of) people skills, coupled with making changes to the game against the communities wishes, among many other reasons.........OpenRA will be dead soon. Best bet is to take the source code and start your own thing with it, like SoScared is doing, something I may do one day
-
Wait, it's been a while since I've been on cncnet, and haven't looked at it recently......there's options for these things now for the vanilla games? I guess I'm confused as to what is going on exactly.

Just quickly threw this map pack together. When I have some time to dedicate to picking out some of my more quality stuff, I'll throw together a new map pack. These are maps (and/or map-mods) for OpenRA, as examples of what I plan to bring over to CnCNet. However, this is just a small portion, and will show more later on. As promised, here you go: https://drive.google.com/open?id=1asfYNudGATuZSFqmwexbWGT6ZHzwHnL7

Happily left OpenRA and wish to transfer my work to here

cn2mc: you know, OpenRA is the absolute worst community I ever had the displeasure of being in, and it sucks, because most are good/cool people, but the small group of scumbags really ruin the atmosphere. It seems like people are leaving faster and faster, and I love it. It deserves to die off, or at least be handled by people worthy of life. The current "maintainers" do not deserve to live on this planet. I can't even begin to say all that happened. The greatest drama of all time. In fact, it's the only gaming community I've ever had problems with, and I've been in many.... . . AcromaticWhite: If you're interested I could help you learn. I should make a map pack and upload it here for openRA for people to check out. might do that tomorrow. Thank you . . fir3worx: Yes, hopefully I can be a nice addition! And, thank you . . kilkakan: thank you! -
The "what are you listening to now?" Topic!

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=LRP8d7hhpoQ Pentatonix version of Hallejuah. Also, I'm practicing singing this song (barely). I thought I sucked......I probably do and people are just being nice haha, but it seems people like how I sound so far. -
FreQ's post made me lol. You guys seem really close, like best friends, maybe even a multi-directional bromance going on. Anyway, the dark theme really helps a person relax, and helps the mood, and it's wonderful, responsive, fluid, haven't had a single issue yet.......Tore, take this down. Clearly, you've done too good a job on this. No but really, I love it. Helps my anxiety too. P.s. when are we getting the illumnati triangle profile picture frames?

(Note for Admin/Mod: Don't worry about approving my posts in a speedy fashion, there's no rush!) I hope this is the right forum/place for this post.... So to christen my new beginnings here, I would like to do 2 things: 1.) Create a map dedicated to and in the spirit of cncnet, and classic red alert. 2.)Using that map, holding a small competition (it will be 1v1) and the winner will receive a a new map made by me, dedicated to them. I know I know, sounds cheap, right? Well it is, because I'm one poor mothah lovah - - - - - - - - - - At least 10 players are required for number 2.). If that number of players to participate is reached, then part 2 will be expanded upon Anyway, hope to see some skilled faces take up the challenge, the map won't be easy

It's okay this forum feels like it can be a fresh start, and it seems much more professional and friendly. The attack-move and unit queues kind of spoiled me, and coming back to the micro-heavy classic RA is.......annoying, yet very gratifying. Maybe I'll get back into the groove of playing competitively since classic requires a lot more patience and skill, as there are no "hand-holding" such as a-move or queues As for recreating the content, that should be no problem. Although, instead of listing some under "balance changes" since I think classic is fine the way it is, they will be listed/showcased as something to change thing's up. But definitely expect some quality default maps from me soon! -
Oh, how did I miss this thread. I guess I'll introduce myself. I'm not new to cnc, but to this forum, I am quite new. Hello everyone!

I won't go into detail, but I understand completely why people here don't like OpenRA or the the people who run it. And why people are leaving OpenRA more and more. I've never experienced such displeasure and so many injustices dealing with the heads of OpenRA. I'm wondering if there is a way to transfer, or convert, my OpenRA maps to something usable here, and, if not, I can post them anyway as "educational material" for those who wish to learn something from what I've created. Lastly, if anyone is willing to help me bring the OpenRA source code to a usable level here, or create something entirely separate (think, a TRUE modernized Red Alert, which stays true to the original game), since the source code is open-source and free for anyone to use and redistribute. p.s. I have a lot to offer and talent/experience with creating thing's for the command and conquer series, and I've wasted much of that on the undeserving OpenRA, and wish to bring my contributions here instead, as I should have from the beginning. Let's get modding edit: I wanted to to mention that a lot of my ideas were used, despite my ideas being "trash" as the heads of OpenRA put it, yet the ripoff and/or directly use my ideas. The content that I created and services offered to users by me were valued by the majority of the community, and it's a shame that despite them wanting me back, I simply have to move on because of what was done to me there by a small group of people. My maps and map-mods became popular and demanded, I created a free and open discord, which users enjoyed, because it allowed them a break from the tyranny of those who run things for OpenRA and gained 100 members within days. I since then deleted my discord because I planned on leaving OpenRA for good......but the community wanted me back, so I came back. This time, I hope they understand that it is not an enironment I wish to be a part of, especially with the insane troll infestation there. I treated people with kindness, love, and respect, and taught people how to play as well as making fun content for them to enjoy and showing them a good time, as well as helping mediate disputes and fight back against the malicious people there in hope that they would focus on me instead of the rest of the community. I also helped discover and patch exploits, contributed to the game on github (tho, that content was removed out of spite, or more accurately, claimed as their own ideas/work), and helped with server testing and game tests. I guess I'm just trying to show my experience and skill with creating content that people enjoy, and hope I can continue creating such content here for all to enjoy, as well as explain ahead of time why some thing's can't be found, but if proof of my work or claims is needed, I can do my best to meet your demands.
