Nyerguds Posted January 24, 2013 Posted January 24, 2013 I doubt there's any such system in C&C, except for the build limit on unit types. It's just not a unit cap kind of game.
Gunbladelad Posted August 2, 2013 Posted August 2, 2013 I know that this is long overdue, but as far as I'm aware, Tiberian Dawn and Red Alert both had unit limits, although this was admittedly set high enough that nobody would've been likely to produce that many units.

There are bugs with controlling huge amounts of units at the same time, but I doubt there's an actual limit to the amount of units. Someone found a limitation to the amount of buildings that could be preplaced on a map once, but I'm not sure if that was related to any actual cap, or just due to the mission reading system. Any MaxUnits/MaxBuildings keys in the C&C1 mission files are just leftovers from Dune II. And in Dune II, the cap was purely because of memory limitations on the computers these days.
