I was trying to remove the para drop and spy plane for the soviet player in multiplayer/skirmish

I tried this:

[General]

; special weapons

ParaTech=-1              ; tech level when free para-infantry appears from airstrip

SpyPlaneTech=-1          ; tech level when free spy plane appears from airstrip

But it doesnt work for me. I havent been able to find anything else in rules ini that corresponds to the spyplane/paradrop.

How can i remove them?

Have you tried

[General]

ParaTech=99              ; tech level when free para-infantry appears from airstrip

SpyPlaneTech=99          ; tech level when free spy plane appears from airstrip

Wow that actually works! I wasnt expecting that since -1 works for most units/building tech settings

Thanks for the help!  :D

I think I ran into this long ago With Red Dawn when I needed to remove the para-infantry. My guess is that the game dose not see the "-" and put it at tech level=1

I doubt it. I think it just checks if your current tech level is higher. And, um, if you think about it for a minute it should be blatantly obvious that ALL tech levels in the game are higher than -1 :P

In C&C1, it also uses buildlevel 98 and 99 to block special things, with 98 being the MP-only stuff like commandos and SSM launchers, and 99 being for completely unbuildable stuff like Mobile HQs, civilians, special characters like Delphi and Moebius, the hospital, bio lab, tech center and civilian buildings.

Well that does make sense afterall  :P

I think I may have confused the tech level thing with assigning spy plane and paratroopers to the allies. I remember trying that and it never working.

Well, it depends if you want it in your mod or not.

What I wanted was to be able to give it to a specific country or team, while still having the airfield for both teams. *sigh* a man can dream.
