N3tRunn3r Posted July 25, 2009 Share Posted July 25, 2009 Our 1st C&C1 Multiplayer Map Competition ends. We had 4 maps to rate: SCM14EA, by Unknown? SCM47EA, by Crimsonum SCM66EA, by pichorra SCM67EA, by ronco The judges were: - Revolutionary - N3tRunn3r Our rating system was: [-D] 25 for detail [-P] 20 for playability [-L] 20 for Layout [-B] 15 for Bonus Here are my results: scm14: - [-D] 25 - [-P] 16 - [-L] 20 - [-B] 13 = Best layout - nice detail into layout - bonus for nice base spawns & tiberium & detail as in rivers, streets, sneak ways, village, woods, guessing long worktime! Losing bonus points causing the playability... enough build space but less space to start a war. this is more a camp map. it is best for an infantry-only map, this is why playability: 16 74 POINTS scm47: - [-D] 19 - [-P] 14 - [-L] 16 - [-B] 9 = Enuogh room to build up a base - nice tiberium fields - nice layout as in lakes and canyons - good details as in trees, tiberium, villages - bonus for tiberium fields, details, room! Losing points causing, too many streets, spawn points. this is more a rush map, the bases will be too close together. players wont drive with their mcv to the allocated spaces, think more about what will happen ingame. but very nice detail for a desert map. 58 POINTS scm66: - [-D] 23 - [-P] 19 - [-L] 18 - [-B] 10 = Enuogh build space, perfect details as in villages, trees, small tiberium fields, roads - good space to start a war - nice rivers! Losing points causing, too much snow on the north - add a bit more tiberium. 70 POINTS scm67: - [-D] 21 - [-P] 19 - [-L] 14 - [-B] 8 = Very nice, nearly perfect details as in viallages, tiberium setup, bridges - great playability, you can setup your base and do a war - good points for bonusses beacuse a part of this map reminds me back to red alert1 and for the village on the south, i really like this one civillian which secures the crate, so for the tiberium fields, they are beautifully built! Losing points causing, the layout: 3 player map - the south-west is nearly empty, you cannot build up such a big base in C&C1 with less tiberium - the tiberium fields are not balanced to each player - the village on the south-east is nearly useless 62 POINTS My final comments: SCM14 is a perfect infantry map, best layout, best details, but worse for higher techlevels = 74 POINTS SCM47 is a nice looking desert map but i dont like the center = 58 POINTS SCM66 is a really nice multiplayer map, great balanced for each players, you can just do anything with this map = 70 POINTS SCM67 reminds me back to red alert about its layout and detail, the tiberium fields are the best in their details, unbalanced map = 62 POINTS All we need are the results of Revolutionary, calculate the points together and mention out the winner of this 1st Mapping Competition.
