rabidsnypr
So I remembered about the unofficial cnc expansion packs with extra levels to play in multiplayer and single player for cnc dawn and red alert. How come no one has redone them to add on to the current hd games? It would be really nice and awesome. It should be done if no one has started it yet. Discuss? Tore
Most maps from the unofficial RA expansions are just standard MP maps, no need for any conversions. The SP maps for both games were distributed as save files for the DOS versions (or some old Windows version like 1.04 for RA) and are therefore not compatible. TaxOwlbear
I happen to do a retrospective on them right now, and yes, most of them (particularly the RA ones) only contain redundant MP maps, often from the Internet or stolen from one another. MP and in Multiplayer? if Multiplayer then that would be awesome.
TaxOwlbear
Yes, all but two RA add-ons only have multiplayer maps. Expect a lot of redundancy, though.
Nyerguds
None of these "unofficial expansions" were really styled as such in their integration with the game. They're really just CDs dumped full of maps, missions and tools scraped off the internet, and nothing more. As cd.textfiles.com sums it up: Who knew that the companies looking for a quick buck through the late 1980's and early 1990's with "Shovelware" CDs would become the unwitting archivists of the BBS age? No one did, but here we are, looking back, muttering thanks to these souless con artists as we plunder the very data they themselves took from a time now past. And what do you think Chimas has been doing, hm?

That is mostly correct, though one add-on, Missions for Command & Conquer II does have mission that replace campaign missions and are compatible with the latest RA versions.
