That should be with some conditions though. I wouldn't want to fully prevent players from playing one another, thats a good example of killing the ladder. We shouldn't fully restrict someone from playing vs another player because their ranking is too high, ELO sorts that out anyway by only awarding 1 or 2 points? If it doesn't then let them play, but only award a few points. I don't think there should be a win limit that restricts you from playing or counting, the ladder isn't big enough. Though maybe after X wins the point calculation should alter slightly so its not so beneficial winning against the same person over and over in the same day.

Who are you to decide what is "inane" and what isn't?????????? A lot of the time on forums in the past when I've come across people being banned/deleted/disciplined for subjective transgressions which don't have a definitive measuring stick or definition to their names, I've found that the same staffers will often tolerate and even encourage casual jokiness among their friends on the forums, when others could consider such interactions to be childishly inane!!!!!!!!!!!!! And while you may say that being a high ranking staff member gives you the right, I'll add that the actual gaming populations of the featured games on a forum are THE CORE of any forum, and I'd imagine a lot of them might be offended at high horse-riding moderators thinking they speak FOR ALL OF THEM!!!!!!!!!!!! I know some of the staff here are doing good work towards the restoration of TS, but from the criticism you receive in some other threads, it seems to me like you haven't earned ALL our respect, just yet!!!!!!!! I know a good amount of the TS community are a critical bunch, and it might seem like they'll NEVER BE SATISFIED, especially with how we've been passed around by so many big communities!!!!!!!!!!! But I think it's just a case of them being INCREDIBLY PASSIONATE, and therefore getting REALLY ANGRY when people make a mess of what they feel is THEIR GAME!!!!!!!! I thought all techies/gamers, like yourself, has monster rigs with spare parts up the wazoo. I guess you've spent all your money on your Aahnold stuff Haven't tried this myself (I haven't had to yet), but it seems to have helped some people so I've modified my first post so people can try this first before anything else. The TS, and YR clients uses ts-ddraw https://github.com/cnc-patch/ts-ddraw. Link to the dll is floating around somewhere

My suggestion would be to use our Mac download for RA/TS, change the wine engine version to match mentioned in this topic and install net 3.5 http://cnc-comm.com/community/index.php?topic=4719.0 Otherwise you could revert to Crossover - that works out of the box pretty much.

With unable to set video mode, make sure to set a resolution that matches your desktop reso - Go to Client Options > Display and set your game reso there. My resolution is set to 1600x900 in client, wich is the resolution of my laptop monitor. The game only runs when I select TS-DDRAW, but thats laggy like ****. IE-DDRAW and default don't work and give the "Unable to set the video mode" message. Any suggestions? Are your video drivers up-to-date? Try setting renderer in client options to default, closing and completely deleting ra2md.ini in your game directory and trying again.

Hello! Afraid not regarding the auto-updating. You can play skirmish games via the client though.
