  3. The voice behind the Electronic Video Agent (EVA) was not artificially made. Indeed, it was preformed by Kia Huntzinger a voice actor for Westwood studios. Kia was recently interviewed by The Gaming Liberty.com's Retro Player section Just to add Kia was not the only actor in C&C that was directly taken from Westwood's staff. Remember Seth? He was played by Eric Gooch one of Westwood's concept artists! Anyhow you can read the full interview here
  4. By creating a shortcut to the ra95-303-hires-launcher-alpha.exe file and adding for example -w 1280 -h 720 after the path in the shortcuts target line
  5. Splitt Why ask for help with Tiberian Sun in a thread made for issues with Red Alert performance? Anyhow, are your graphics drivers and DirectX up to date? If not update them to the latest version. There should also be a special ddraw.dll file around that could help you, I'll look around for it. (It's not cnc-ddraw mind you)
  6. What was deemed almost impossible is now possible! Through the magic of the wizard known as hifi, high resolutions for Red Alert is now possible! Click for full image Please note that this is a screenshot from a experimental stage. Lets play Red Alert 1 in HD! - 2 / 2 and sorry for the lack of news updates lately! Edit there's a website for this right here: http://hifi.iki.fi/ra95-hires/ go wild and feel the experimental-ness!
  7. Yeah, this games does look promising.
  8. Download and install this: http://www.cnc-comm.com/community/index.php?action=downloads;sa=view;down=45
  9. I guess you have Windows 7 then. When the game crashes do you get any error messages? If so please take a screenshot of the error message. And where did you get Red Alert?
  10. Are you running the game in Windows 98 compatibility mode? And what version of Windows are you using?
  11. There is no retail version of RA that will install on a 64-bit operating system. Did you try FullRA? If not what are the errors you are getting?
  12. Try alternative 1 then (FullRA+). The original installer on the game disk is a 16-bit application and 16-bit applications cannot be ran on 64-bit operating systems. However the game itself is a 32-bit application which do run in 64-bit OSes To reenable the videos (disabling NoCD in the process) use the original ra95.dat file from the original 3.03 patch.

  14. Wait...you bought Red Alert..which is a freeware game.. Oh well, you will find instructions on how to install RA on a 64-bit system here (Use Alternative 2 since you have the RA disks). Moved to the repair bay

    Questions..

Yes you download the mix files and then move them to your TS folder. The black borders are either a setting in your graphics driver or a setting on the monitor.

    Questions..

What do you mean playing them in fullscreen? They are fullscreen games and will always go fullscreen. Unless you use cnc-ddraw in which you open up ddraw.ini and change windowed to false. The videos you can download from these links: http://www.cncforums.com/new/user_uploads/MOVIES01.MIX http://www.cncforums.com/new/user_uploads/MOVIES02.MIX

  18. I think the TLF videos will work if you create and add them into a mix using the sc prefix like: sctlf.mix. However as far as I can remember the FullRA executable ignores movies.mix...try using a normal 3.03 executable (ra95.exe and ra95.dat) and patch it with hifi's NoCD patch. But I'm a bit unsure about his. Nyerguds would be able to come up with a better answer. Moved to the construction yard
  19. Activate backbuffer in video memory in RASETUP/CCSETUP. Or just try cnc-ddraw Moved to repair bay forum
  20. Welcome back N3t! I tried out APB Gamma and I lagged even more than on the former release of APB. In addition the game looked more pixelated than the earlier version of APB. I might have done some configuration errors though. As for game-maps.net having a faster download of APB was untrue in my case as the official download was 100 KBps faster (1300 KBps vs 1400 KBps). This off course depends on your location in the world. And old news...16 days....
  21. Could you tell us a bit more about where you got RA and what you have done with it? (compatibility mode etc.)
  22. Your nickname is taken which is pretty obvious from the message you are getting. Try another one.

    Broken download

    Redownload it then
  24. This page have been neglected for quite awhile. I'm just dropping inn to tell that CnCNet v2 stable has been released! This release features UPnP support which should make playing on CnCNet easier than ever! It should also make the UPnP tool obsolete, but he still have it in the guide just incase! The CnCNet server was recently rewritten for faster performance and stability as well. To grab the latest version of CnCNet head over to the downloads page and grab the new DLLs.
