  1. I was browsing through Youtube when I spotted Era Game Reviews for C&C and RA by GGBeyond.com. They are more of a look back in time then reviews but I found them interesting nonetheless. So without further ado here are the videos! Era Game Reviews - Command & Conquer: Tiberian Dawn Era Game Reviews - Command & Conquer: Red Alert They also have reviews of 90's games like Hexen and Rise of the Triad in their Youtube channel.
  2. If you read you see that there is a patch and a full game version. Patch usually means an update to a game. It's all written on the damn 1.06 project page.
  3. Good news! Crashing mid-game have always happened in C&C, but more frequently in 1.04
  4. Seems like Stop Forum Spam isn't compatible with SMF 1.1.13 settings.php you say? I don't see how that file has any effect on registration links.
  5. I'm not updating to SMF 2.0 until they release the final version, I'm not bothering with RC's. I'm no php guru so I have no idea to change the links. I just installed the stop forum spam plug in though.
  6. Nice, RA maps are few and far between these days.
  7. Myg who likes to go by the name of "cncNetserver" has managed to optimize the netcode of C&C95. This allows for smooth cross continent games. I'll let this video speak for itself: C&C Tiberian Dawn: 2v2 on CnCNet (Brazil vs USA vs Denmark vs Norway)
  8. For a long time we have had the spotlighted maps and the map archive forums. In the Map Archive people submitted maps and if the maps were praised they were moved to the spotlighted maps forum. This system is no more. The spotlighted maps didn't get more exposure than the maps in the map archive thus making this system of organizing maps useless. Therefore I created a new and very simple system of organizing maps. The spotlighted maps forum and the Map Archive forum have been replaced by the singleplayer maps forum and the multiplayer maps forum. The spotlighting system is still there but spotlighted maps are now stickied in their respective forums.
  9. This topic has been moved to The Construction Yard. [iurl]http://www.cnc-comm.com/community/index.php?topic=1301.0[/iurl]
  10. CnCQM is a online based interface, if you want to test it ask hifi in the CnCNet chatroom
  11. It's been a month since I posted news and I'm sorry for that. I've had and still have some sleeping problems, this makes it hard for me to do anything since I'm tired all the time. This in addition to school and having to wake up at 06:00 every weekday takes it's toll. Anyway time for some news! First off Bittah Commander has released a news update for the standalone Tiberian Sun mod "The Dawn of the Tiberium Age" featuring many screenshots from this version. DTA 1.11 will include many new maps, new units and new graphics and a fully revamped and hard AI. More info at "their" main site. DTA can be called TS, RA and C&C1 mixed together! Myg has found a way to increase the performance in C&C95 LAN games by making the LAN mode use the online netcode in the game. This caused games to run really smooth even over huge distances however games are plagued by constant desyncs, hopefully this will be remedied. hifi has also been hard at work. He has been developing CnC Quickmatch, a online interface for playing C&C 1v1 games online. That's all for now, hopefully news updates will happen more often from now on.
  12. Hmm, never heard of this. Anything different from the final release in there?
  13. That sounds (no pun intended) like a weird issue, have you tried reinstalling? And how did you install the game? Game pack, installer, CDs, TFD etc.
  14. What anti virus software are you using? Some of them doesn't like old games. Did it tell you to do that? When I installed it it didn't ask for a directory at all.
  15. Nice, a singleplayer map! Don't see many of these around anymore. By the way add the map itself as an attachment so people don't have to go to those advertisement filled file sharing sites.
  16. Kidd are you running game.exe in Windows 98/Me compatibility mode? If that doesn't help try updating DirectX and video drivers. Windows 7 is not the problem, Tiberian Sun works 100% on Windows 7 both 32 and 64-bits versions. The problem TS has is that it is picky with modern hardware, on some computers it runs perfectly and others it's unstable or lags for no apparent reason
  17. Does game.exe have Windows 98/Me compatibility mode and is ran as administrator?
  18. Fev! you didn't install any patches or anything after you installed TS though the installation pack right? The official patches might replace the NoCD executable with the original one. pichorra, it shouldn't care what CD is inserted, it's a NoCD executable!
  19. Have you tried putting a disk in your drive? Some C&C games require CD to be be inside the drive, but this doesn't have to be a C&C CD.
  20. Good job godly-cheese! I might even replace the current portforwarding "guide" with this one when it's done!
  21. Asks for a CD? It shouldn't ask for a CD at all! it works without the Tiberian Sun CD for every PC I've tried. (Vista, XP, 7 both 32 and 64 bit) By the way the games name is Tiberian Sun
  22. All the movies are in MOVIES01.mix and MOVIES02.mix due to the way the freeware TS (and TFD) executable works.
