I'll tell you about a mod that was released for Project Perfect Mods 10th Anniversary contest! (A very late Happy Birthday to PPM) This awesome mod is called C&C Mech Wars! C&C Mech Wars is a Battletech inspired standalone mod for Tiberian Sun bringing you in to battles between the mercenary Kell Hounds and the clan Smoke Jaguar! An early alpha version of the mod can be downloaded from here But Reaperrs modding spree doesn't stop there! He has also managed to release a patch for Return of the Dawn! And now for something different. A C&C site that has been with us for a very long time, a C&C fansite that even predates Tiberian Sun! This site have had a few different names through the years but today this site is better known as The Original Red Alert Zone CNCNZ.com. The playful veteran C&C news site is celebrating it's 13th birthday! Now for something a bit more local! CnCNet is thriving! Games are being played everyday! The most popular game is C&C95 followed by RA95, TS and the "newly supported" RA2 isn't having as many players. There is a new client coming for CnCNet so stay tuned! Brinestein has released a new 6 player C&C95 map called Unyielding! That's all for now!

UAC = User Account Control. A security system introduced in Vista that allows you to have user privileges while using a user with administrator privileges. UAC is the prompts you usually get when installing stuff or use the button "run as administrator". In Windows 7 run the old games (C&C1, RA1, TS and RA2) in Windows 98 compatibility mode and as administrator, the newer games (Ren and Gen) in Windows XP compatibility mode and as administrator. For the the First Decade download the unofficial 1.03 patch. The 1.03 patch pack includes an outdated version of the 1.06 patch project for C&C1 so after patching the TFD pack with the TFD 1.03 patch. Get 1.06c Revision 1 and its hotfix (1.06 r1f1) for C&C1. XP Mode is just a modified version of XP ran in a modified version of Virtual PC, and it doesn't require virtualization support in processors anymore. XP Mode is basically a "free" version of XP that you can install if you have Windows 7 Professional, Ultimate or Enterprise. If you do have a XP CD lying around I recommend you just use Virtualbox instead. XP Mode is a Virtual PC, far from a compatibility layer....Windows 7 got XP compatibility mode too.... React OS got LONG way ahead of it. All mine work

This sort of thing has not been done as much as it should have been, spotlighting duties have been neglected and people simply don't know about the maps! New spotlighted map! Tiberium Overpass! Tiberium Overpass is a multiplayer map designed for 4 players, each player starts off pretty close to tiberium. There are multiple choke points leading into the bases of the players. The "welcome to CnCNet" message only comes every 10 minutes from the last connection to the server.

Doesn't work as in? Try to right click and click on "saved linked content as" (or something similar) then you should be able to download it. Or else it will just display as a website. You could check the configuration file page for CnCNet too.

It will probably work fine. A random port occurs when there is something blocking the normal port (8054) it can be your firewall, your router or something else. Try to download this and put it in your RA folder, it will force CnCNet to use port 8054.

I just tried hjkt on LAN with two human and 6 AI players XP vs Win7. It worked just fine. It would be weird that wsock32.dll could be the cause of your issues as it was created with Vista/Win7 in mind, but you may never be 100% certain that something is 100% fool proof either...

wsock32.dll is the file that allows you to play LAN. There are a few buggy maps out there try a default map.

It might be the map you are playing on.

Then it's weird that this happens. I use Windows 7 64-bit and RA works just fine... Edit: Have you tried updating DirectX, and other drivers? It could be a driver issue.

Freezing happens when the computer tries to run the game with more than one core. When the game starts open task manager, go to processes right click on ra95.dat click on affity and make sure only one CPU is selected.

Set it to only one CPU.
