You'd probably had googled that yet, but it's an allegged perfect relation of bidimensional variables, again, found everywhere in nature and related to Fibonacci blá, blá, blá the number is a established "magic" number like PI. It's 1.61803399... But I made a mistake in the calculation. I used excel and probably used SEN function, when actually must be used ASEN (arcsin). The result is 38.17º ---- \edit =arcsin(1/1.61803399) I'll test both numbers later and see what fits better for TD. Excellent book on this matter is AGAINST THE GODS (BERNSTEIN, Peter). obs: in BR, the name of the book is Challenge against the gods, the fascinating history of risk. Anyway, if you haven't, it's a must read. Around 400 pages, but probably you're done in a week (with some free time or less sleep time). Thanks anyway!

thanks! I'm not a mathematician, but using the golden ratio (1,6180339887...), I've found a=33º Maybe this is it! Well let's see if I can bring a surprise after some time soon ... ; ]

Not sure. I got some *.OBJ files and have installed a 3D soft. So now, I need to know which angle I have to rotate the units, 'cuz I'll port them to SHP via screenshots. That will be my shortcut. And later I'll refine them in the omnisuperpowerfull PAINT.
-
Hi there, I still exist. Taking advantage of the title of the thread: Nyerguds (or White), If I want to make a vehicle in many perspectives the way the SHP files demands, what is the proportion of length and width to draw a unit? (or angle) Back to original thread: MattAttack (from Las Vegas I suppose ehehehe), I'll take a look at the triggers&teamtypes of your new mission. If I see something different I'll let you know. See ya', guys!

I misunderstood a bit. The changes being made apply to FOLDERS, not to FILES. Therefore, the public links for files will remain and the folder access will be restricted. -

I'll be checking the cloud share system cause both of them had updated their services. Sugarsync for instance will no longer allow public links. They will become semi-public links since you have to register an e-mail AND instal their program. I'll see what I can do. The first idea is to leave a general message like "make contact if you need access to this link" but this is not a solution. Anyways, the LINK2 links (Sugarsync) will remain available up to the end of August. I might move to DropBox, I gotta study the case. -

Hi Mr_Killt, Another of your great missions! I've sent you one suggestion via PM, but it's not important. GG!! -
Hi Mr_Killt After some years, XCC has been updated recently. It now includes the SNOW theater and it comes unlocked among other things. Yet, I haven't tested the BASE section. Have you updated your XCC?

We need spoilers in this topic ... And I hope you get pregnant of that stuff in Prometheus!!!! (without that cesarean white spa ride!!!!!) -
So this is it, problem solved. The shots are placed inside C&C folder with *.png extension, in great quality and reduced size.
-
Screenshots? How do you take it? CTRL+S ? I used to have horrible screenshots and then Nyerguds told me to do it this way so now it's much better.

« Reply #32 on: 20 June 2012, 17:48:27 » moved to here: Excellent, Keep listing what you find and I'll change it. Next update on this will be this weekend. ======================================== SCB140 & SCB141 are part of campaign that is almost completely a waste of time, only 2 or 3 missions were taken out and are a bit worthy. If you use XCC or CCMAP I can send you this "campaign" so you can take a look. I mean it, it's very poor. The Kohlrus missions are a collection of SP missions with no sense of context. You can see it by reading the briefings which are pretty direct instructions. You will find many authors with "isolated" missions: Al Paterson, LKO, Jeff Fehric. I keep campaigns when they refer to it. Sometimes I sense it's a campaign but since I haven't found any TXT files, I keep it apart. In other cases I took a year to find the complete mini-campaign like OssiForce and Terrorist War (se SC?900), so they started as single and later became to mini-campaign. And there is a campaign called Arctic Missions with 8 missions where I reserved it to convert some of them to SNOW theater. One is ready and published here at cnc-comm. -

Oh yes, I can assure you most of these missions are fine about buildlevel, but I can't assure you that ALL of them are fine. Anyway, inside every zip file comes ALL the files I've found for each mission, including the TXT files you refer. A small number of these missions comes with NO TXT files. But in general they are there. If you wanna help, my only warning is that it might be a boring task, but since most of the project have been undertake at late night, it would be appreciated this type of help. In the cover you get all links and you can use the excel file MISSION INDEX to help you out in this task, although it's around 90% updated. I have a lot of comments there about buildlevel, so you can also audit the work for quality assurement purpose. You will see I've been annoyed with buildlevels since the begining eheheheh ... Clearing out: for example, inside the ZIP file SCG100.ZIP you'll find an excel file, a MIX file and 20 other ZIP files. The TXT files are in these secondary ZIP files. In the other hand if you download ONLY the file CATALOG.ZIP, then you'll get only MIX files. Perhaps you ran to the MIX files and didn't bother to open the ZIP files (because no one needs them in a first moment) ... \edit If you could wait until the end of next friday, I'll be updating some support files. Also, all files I have are in this FOLDER. Everything I have is available for public access, this way no one needs to depend on me: [*]Outside the SUBFOLDERS are the released material. [*]Inside the SUBFOLDERS are the WIP (work in progress) -

Hi Lightning, I tend to agree with your point of view. As far as I understood you are saying that the correct parameters would be Buildlevel=1 to mission 01, Buildlevel=2 to mission 02 and so forth up to Buildlevel=15 to mission 15, right? First, the BuildLevels are there, so the former author put them there. Second, the majority is set to 15, what is weird. Maybe the editors come with a default value set to 15 in case the author forget this issue, but then I would have to confirm. Perhaps Nyerguds (and others) has something else to say also, which so far is in the same way you've proposed. I have no problem in changing if what it seems to be appropriate was really the effect wanted by the authors. Let me check it first. It envolves 300 missions or more, not only this campaign. I'll take a better look in the next weekend and we keep talking. -

Hi, I was thinking about having a full Tiberian Dawn SP campaign made by the community itself. So this is the first napkin ideas about it. We would have to choose first the side of the campaign. For a sample purpose, i've picked GDI. | Game Level | Map Area | Unit in Focus | Theater | 01 | 34x20=680 | MiniGunner | ? | 02 | 36x23=828 | Grenadier | ? | 03 | 38x26=988 | Hum-Vee | ? | 04 | 40x29=1160 | Medium tank | ? | 05 | 42x32=1344 | Bazooka | ? | 06 | 44x35=1540 | Orca | ? | 07 | 46x38=1748 | Boat /Hover | ? | 08 | 48x41=1968 | Flame-thrower | ? | 09 | 50x44=2200 | Commando | ? | 10 | 52x47=2444 | APC | ? | 11 | 54x50=2700 | A10 | ? | 12 | 56x53=2968 | Engineer | ? | 13 | 58x56=3248 | Chinook | ? | 14 | 60x59=3540 | Mammoth | ? | 15 | 62x62=3844 | MSAM | ? * I sense I am missing someone ... It would work like this: [*]Teams would work in groups of 2 or 3 - a map maker (bin file), a mission maker (bin+ini), they are both the alpha testers and a beta tester; [*]I've imagined the size of the maps to make the first missions resembling tutorials level and the last ones, the larger battles. Also the innitial maps are more focused on infantry, therefore it won't be a pain to walk all map. The game level could also be related to the BuildLevel; [*]The Unit in focus is the idea of creating a plot where this unit will play a more central role, but you can count on any other unit, as long as you'd count on a limited number of them. The stock campaign works like that; [*]Whenever you post anything, don't reveal the end of the story. If needed, PM me; [*]Optional: if we are to have a single row of 15 missions it would be placed on the New Missions Menu. If in the other hand we would have paralel missions, than it would be a MOD to override the stock campaign; [*]For Quality assurement, I'd advise to have a campaign final beta tester (certainly not me); [*]We have 4 theaters and almost 10 colour schemes, lets use it wisely; [*]We will set out after we have all creative teams stablished to their mission levels; [*]Taking this as an example, we would have the GDI Campaign week: after everything ready, we would launch the campaign, play and discuss it, one by one, after a week. I know we are all overwhelmed by work, but it's not for the next weekend, we can take a time. The main purpose is to have teamwork and maybe create new mapmakers (although we are not short in SP missions ehehehehh) Note that this post is a "think-out-loud" one, just have created a framework to base our discussions, everything is opened so far. Finally, if we have adhesion, it will be a lot of chat about it, more players coming along waiting for the final release and it will be fun. Let's discuss the idea for the moment. Greetings

Go to the Single Players Missions section and look inside mine recent mission SANDSCORPIO in the INI file. You'll find another example in ARCTIC MISSIONS CONVERSION there too.

Chimas replied to Chimas's topic in C&C Singleplayer Maps
Hi Lightning, thanks for the words! I've used the organization of these maps to learn mapmaking for TD. Yet, I have made only one SP mission so far, but there are more coming. I love Excel, I've been using it for some time now, it's very practical when you have some skill. The *.xls inside the zip files helped me a lot avoiding stress and errors on auditing triggers and teamtypes. Yes, it's on my plans since the beggining. We had a problem related to MIX file coding so the campaigns and the mini-campaigns couldn't be stored in a large interval (from 100 to 899). So the large campaigns are planned to be the last ones. I've released only one fan-made large SP campaign - Wounded Eagle. Yet, there are 2 maps there corrupted, but I released anyway. The campaigns must be around 10 for the large ones (from 4 missions to 15) and another 10 to the minis (up to 3 missions) A tip: In the Mission.Index.xls you will find some stats (number of units, structures, triggers and teamtypes). Avoid missions with less than 3 triggers and or teamtypes. After I release everything, I'll put my hands on most of these ones to "reform" them setting up more triggers and teamtypes. A request: My weakness in this project are the late game errors and crashes. I assure all missions running, but some of them might have problems late in game. It won't be much, but If that happens to you, take note o f the message and the name of the mission and let me know. Also, if you have any mission self -made or from someone else, bring it to us. Thanks once again and best regards! -
