Tiberian Dawn - The Huge Collection (single player)
Chimas replied to Chimas's topic in C&C Singleplayer Maps
I'll check that during this week. I've noticed that the moment I got the campaign. I think I had changed some of those level parameters myself for some reason I don't remember now. I'll take a look and comeback here later to comment. Thanks for the warning. -
Hi, Sorry for the lack of knowledge: by "Binaries", are you including MAPS?
-
Jacko, comment this with the developer, if it's not the palette ...
-
I think they can only come from south ...
-
Sorry, I didn't make myself clear. If you leave NO SPACE AT ALL, the airstrip won't deliver the unit.
-
Well, actually it's not a theory, it's a poor guess once I don't know the real cause of the problem. But I have witnessed that happening in different maps, considering the repair bay. I don't remember other buildings, but I know it's not only the repair bay, and I've noticed this problem after a cruel attack in some cases (hence the damage theory, you can't "not see" that there's a relation when you clear the area of enemies and the repair bay is burnt to hell and not working anymore, nor you can't sell it). Next time I'll pay attention to details of the sequence and report. Maybe an SS ...

Some structures after an attack, like the repair bay, get some damage and stops functioning. You can't even sell it. So I left it to be destroyed. Don't know if it's intentional and I have no solution. In case of NOD's AirStrip, if you don't give enough space around it, it can't deliver the unit. You have to sell one of the surrounding buildings or the Airstrip itself and find a better spot to place. That happens often when you build your base inside some cliffs. What Jacko said is true, but it gets solved as soon as the previous unit is delivered. I don't remember, but I think you might have to press over the "Ready". It's something simple in this case, just keep trying. I don't remember now, other cases to comment. PS - take as an example the video cover above from MattAttack. Imagine putting that AirStrip next to the shadows of the cliffs. Then, it will be useless.

I can't tell anymore when I'm lazy and when I'm tired. I guess I was waiting him to move to the patch version...

I think you should stick to the unofficial patch 1.06C. There are PROBABLY some limits that have been adressed by this version that will make your life easier.

Tiberian Dawn - The Huge Collection (single player)
Chimas replied to Chimas's topic in C&C Singleplayer Maps
Yeah, I can stop replicating processes too. For example, now, if I update an INI, then I have to "pack" it in a ZIP file and put in the proper place. Also I have duplicated MIX files, so I have to change them and later on substitute the old one. If I move to folders and files alone, I cut a lot of logistics. I'm thinking about it and will probably change it. -
Tiberian Dawn - The Huge Collection (single player)
Chimas replied to Chimas's topic in C&C Singleplayer Maps
Hi there I've discovered recently SVN Tortoise, thus this project is there and I'm giving a try. So, here is the link to access the Huge TD Collection. Note that the content is the same you already get in the cloud services. Please be patient, although seems to be simple, I'm learning how it works. I want to know what else can be done with SVN. Anyway, join us anytime. -
I think Abandonia.com has a good text about it, last time I read it (2010) ...

Tiberian Dawn - Lost Control (Singleplayer)
Chimas replied to Lin Kuei Ominae's topic in C&C Singleplayer Maps
Ok, When the game crashes, the computer will do (prompt) something. Press PrintScreen and let us see what it says ... Tore/Nyerguds: Do we have a "CnC-TD W7 crashes" thread? Maybe we could move all this to there ... -
Tiberian Dawn - Lost Control (Singleplayer)
Chimas replied to Lin Kuei Ominae's topic in C&C Singleplayer Maps
The mission doesn't seem to have a problem in parameters. I've played this mission sometimes and got no crashes (it's been a while now). When I changed from XP to W7 I started to have a lot of crashes, in any mission I played. Don't forget to tell about hardware and what Windows you are using, and all that stuff (besides the IA msg) ... -
Liang, You have to be a little more specific, otherwise people will tell you to turn on the display ...

I almost "die" to recolor of a grenadier (256 frames). Then, you have all the other units you intend to modify. The problem of modding is that you have plenty of boring activities to make alone. By the time you start balancing the first mission you'll be exausted and willing to make a demo or some sort of release. People will have few patience, if you release 15 missions easier than a guy that spends 3 or 4 months doing a good hard mission. 1 Consult (via PM) guys like White, Kilkakon Allen and MattAttack before a first real move. (There are others ...) 2 "Recruit" by offering positions for specific tasks. If you set a team of 3-4 guys and a cloud solution so everyone in the team can access the evolution, than you'll be motivated. But you'll have to bear different tastes and consequent solutions for every problem you delegate. There's no slavery and a lot of egos in modding to deal with. The problem of recruiting is gaining respect before the job starts, hence a first complete mission. If you visit my links, you'll find a lot of SP missions for TD 80% complete (they are not mine, btw). And that's just 1 mission per guy, no modding. 3 People will send you messages like this one, don't be offended. Who doesn't want a new MOD, after all. We just want it complete and to be worth of playing.

Read and practice. Don't have to create a complete mission to test a WIN trigger. Sometimes you'll have to go back and forth, using XCC and running the game to understand the triggers and teamtypes mechanics ...

Gsccc, The DOS list is here I'll put it in cnc-comm.com in another moment. If you happen to find any different mission unlisted, ZIP it and send me it with comments. Also if you have any different SP mission in BIN+INI format, send it too. I'll prepare another pack soon. The last pack was released around July. I'll revise and update all links too. If you're a mission maker, we have a lotta stuff pending. Greetings

I'll take a look tomorrow, meanwhile put the attack command (in teamtype) to 50 or 99 ... \edit1 change the name of your triggers to 4 characters like "prd1" \edit2 my XCC is crashing with more than 130 items in TERRAIN section (actually opening all blank) as far as I know the limit is 300?!? ... also, I'm rusty ...
-
I was implying the most recent, like LKO collection, and suggesting a bit of my (poor) game skills.

Hi DOSrockz, You're right in certain aspects. The DOS game is a complete different game. Nyerguds might point out that you can change the resolution. Maybe in a future patch, the former resolution might become a more featured resolution like instead of 640 x 400 (or 320 x 200) could be called "classic resolution", this way to stimulate people to play it the classic way. But I'm not sure, patch 1.06 series has been a great development, IMO. I set mine C&C to 800 x 600 because I sense that small res is somehow too nervous game and high res is stressful for the eyes. Eventually I play the DOS version. but that will take time now, since my computer crashed for good and the new one is W7 (I still miss XP). I've asked once to Nyerguds to include back the "shakescreen" of destructions of large objects that you can find in DOS version. Mind you that many missions seems to be made for high res. At least in my case, I almost get crazy playing in 800 x 600, imagine it in 320 x 200. You don't even know where the shots came from. but, never mind I'm an awful player, I guess. In cases like yours, I always promote this: Have you seen this collection here?
