Also, why does Youtube tell my that my videos are "shaky"? This is a 2D game. It hardly gets less shaky than that.

That happened afterwards. Of course I didn't just restart, I waited until the ore came back and I finally had enough submarines and troops to take the island. By that time, the Allies had built about a thousand tanks. It was terrible.

Yeah, sometimes the Orca just buzzes around and then it's out of ammo already. When I re-played RA1, I found the Apache/Hind to be surprisingly effective. In the campaign, I prefer Hinds over MiGs because they take less space and are less of a pain to manoeuvre. -
It didn't work this time, but what I used to do was scout the island, land paaratroopers and then blow up the Allied MCV and deny them the second base. Man, did I feel clever for doing that! http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ZEKLALxoZUc Alternative link.

One of the freeware versions of RA1 has this as an option in its launcher. Not sure which one, though.

A couple more thing I noticed during PATSUX: 1. You can build multiple Icon Cannons. Is that WAD? 2. The bullet upgrade applies to the AGT, even though the AGT doesn't use bullets. 3. When an Orca sits on a helipad, the helipad can build Chinooks, but no additional Orcas. 4. Occasionally, I couldn't rebuild an Orca I lost because the field for it was greyed out. Not sure what caused this. 5. All Orcas hop in the air once after an Orca helipad has been built. 6. The stealth detection upgrade for the Orcas didn't seem to work. After buying it, it was still greyed out and my Orcas couldn't detect Stealth Tanks.

It's probably bets if you give it a shot yourself to exclude that this is a freak incident on my machine.

I can also confirm that prolonged Tiberium growth causes a massive FPS drop, I replayed this mission and harvested all the Tiberium and had almost no slowdown. I don't think it's much of an issue, though, because there won't be many situations where a mission both lasts long and Tiberium isn't harvested. -

A couple of things regarding power. As seen above, those advanced power plants give me 92 power units, which is way too much. For some reason, my power usage is also too low. Those silos alone should use 13 units, but my total usage is only nine. This can be "fixed" by saving and reloading. Now I get two units from my CY... and 44 units from three advanced power plants, which doesn't add up. Also, my use is now down to five units, which it think is what my barracks and two refineries use. In any case, there's something off with the power.

Not the first time. You can get more harvesters by building more refineries, though.

I think the problem is the Tiberium. It became hyperconcentrated at the end and seemed to contribute to the slowdown, because later on, the frame rate was really low even when no GDI units attacked me. Or does the FPS drop somehow "stack"?

Is the mission where you have to defend the massive Nod base an endless mission? I played it for about two hours, but GDI just kept coming and coming. At the end, the frame rate dropped to 8 - 20 FPS and the game finally crashed.

I didn't even know that. Then again, I don't think there are many maps that have trees placed like that (with a vehicle being unable to go around them) or they are groups of trees which IIRC can't be destroyed. -
