Bullet Posted August 24, 2008 Posted August 24, 2008 Hello, do someone of you know what the Timequake in RA1 is?? In the Rules.ini under Powerups (crates generation) there is one Powerup called TimeQuake, but i have never get this Powerup in a Crate!!!! Even if i change all powerups in the rules.ini, so that you just can get a TimeQuake, you will get money in all crates but no TimeQuake!!! Is the TimeQuake maybe an Error??? please help!!
Tore Posted August 26, 2008 Posted August 26, 2008 It maybe a left over from the developement of Red Alert. [moved to correct forum]
Bullet Posted August 29, 2008 Author Posted August 29, 2008 You mean something like the saboteur right??? Or is this the explosion of the madtank?? Because in the rules.ini his attack is called "quake" but not "timequake" !!!
FactorX Posted September 6, 2008 Posted September 6, 2008 you are lucky cause whenever i get a crate 40 percent chance is tht it is a time quake its a pain in the behind man
Bullet Posted October 1, 2008 Author Posted October 1, 2008 Can you describe that more specific?? Is the Timequake an explosion or a shockwave like the one from the MAD Tank???
MrFlibble Posted July 18, 2009 Posted July 18, 2009 you are lucky cause whenever i get a crate 40 percent chance is tht it is a time quake According to RULES.INI, there is a 20% chance of a time quake when using the Chronosphere, and the chance of getting a time quake crate is the same as for parabombs, invulnerability or sonar pulse. However, I never observed a time quake actually, and IIRC editing RULES.INI to always get time quakes also gave no results, as described above (I have been able to get chrono vortex that way, but never a time quake).
Bullet Posted August 10, 2009 Author Posted August 10, 2009 Factor X can you give us a Screenshot from your Timequake, because we dont get one?? Or maybe you just saw a Vortex??
Nyerguds Posted August 10, 2009 Posted August 10, 2009 I didn't think the Time Quake even had anything graphical asociated to it.
Revolutionary Posted August 11, 2009 Posted August 11, 2009 wasnt it just you picked up a create, screen shock (or did the chrono thing), units on screen lose health.
Nyerguds Posted August 11, 2009 Posted August 11, 2009 Ah. The white flash thing that's also used for the (single player) nuke?
Revolutionary Posted August 11, 2009 Posted August 11, 2009 I dont know might be but i was meaning The lack of colour for a few second if you use The chrono tank or superweapon
FactorX Posted January 20, 2010 Posted January 20, 2010 not really it was like .. how u say a spiralling ball tht wapred the terrain and shot yellow thunder on units nearby at a very fast rate. Sorry for posting so late
Nyerguds Posted January 20, 2010 Posted January 20, 2010 That's the Chrono Vortex, not the Time Quake. According to Hyper, the Time Quake is connected to the Aftermath MAD tank. I remember that in multiplayer it only has a local effect, but in single player (see mission "Absolute MADness"), it damages all buildings and vehicles on the entire map to 1/3rd of their health. Apparently, this IS the Time Quake effect.
MrFlibble Posted January 22, 2010 Posted January 22, 2010 Wait, aren't TimeQuake and the MAD Tank Quake weapon two different things? Or did they use the TimeQuake logic for the MAD Tank in Aftermath?
Nyerguds Posted January 23, 2010 Posted January 23, 2010 That's what I'm saying. Hyper said TimeQuake is listed in the superweapons in RA1, and is linked to the MAD tank.
MrFlibble Posted January 27, 2010 Posted January 27, 2010 I think you're right. I remember I tried testing the TimeQuake by setting its chance to 100% in rules.ini, but IIRC it did not work. I suppose this was v2.0, so it could have been that the logic was already recycled to be used as the MAD Tank weapon. I'm not sure about this though.
Nyerguds Posted January 28, 2010 Posted January 28, 2010 well skirmish is different altogether though. Either the MAD Tank doesn't use the Time Quake in MP/Skirmish, or the effects have been changed, but the original single player MAD Tank does damage over the entire map. If I remember correctly, the multiplayer MAD Tank only did local damage.
