Sol
Would it be possible to implement a hotkey to "Show all HP bars" (buildings/units)? I like to record games as a spectator and in big fights you lose track of which units are damaged and which not, and I cant just click through all of them. This key would of course only work as a spectator, as finding the damaged units in the enemy army is a skill in itself. Then I am thinking about a 9th/10th slot in the game lobbies, to spectate 8 player games. Also, please make sure that you can have spectators in the upcoming ladder! thx
Punkernfg
I dont think having spectators for ladder games would be a good idea. Spectators could message players with substantial information that could sway the outcome of the game. The HP bar is a good idea though
Sol
well its up to both sides to allow spectators. if you dont trust the other guy and/or the spectator, you dont have to let him in
X3M
Why not silence the spectators, they only can talk amongst themselves? Or only allow them to talk to all players, if they want to talk to a player?
Sol
it is like that already. but if you really want there is lots of ways to secretly communicate out of the game
amokk
they could use teamspeak or some other voice chat program could the games be recorded and played back by the client like dawn of war? they could then be reviewed by everyone of there is any question. Sol
some kind of replay function would of course be great, but i think its way too much work to implement. still i dont see any risks with spectators being allowed in ladder games. just dont let people spectate that you dont trust. X3M
The ammount of ways to play dirty is always bigger then playing nice. For fair play, your only choice is to trust others. Of course it would be nice if spectators don't give away your tactics. But cheaters always find a way. (Sitting in one room, sharing vision with several monitors.) Mole40k
Forest fires is quite a different proposition to many other ts maps. It requires good team play, and an awareness of the whole battlefield situation. One particular mistake many people make is to think of it as four 1v1s, when really, sometimes it's not always the best thing to attack your direct opponent. https://cnctiberiansun.wordpress.com/2013/06/17/forest-fires-a-brief-guide/ https://cnctiberiansun.wordpress.com/2014/10/08/tiberian-sun-forest-fires-common-mistakes/

Sol
would be cool if someone in charge could comment on my requested features. funkyfr3sh?
FunkyFr3sh
Yes I like it, I always wanted to add some cool spectator features like showing live stats of units/buildings bought/Destroyed and other things. I have not done much TS patches tho, so i cannot tell if it is possible atm. Iran and CChyper know much more about TS than me
VamPyroX
I dont think having spectators for ladder games would be a good idea. Spectators could message players with substantial information that could sway the outcome of the game. The HP bar is a good idea though I agree. I've seen this abused in Counterstrike. During my days in college, there was one guy on my dorm floor who had 2 computers. He set up one for himself to play online and another as a spectator. As a spectator, he could see everything that was happening around him. In fact, with this feature... one could do it with a desktop and laptop. Sign online as a player on the desktop. Sign online as a spectator on the laptop. Then you simply look back and forth... cheating.
Sol
is nobody reading what i said? why would know let someone spectate that you dont know? its not the feature that would make cheating possible. its people being stupid and agreeing to specs they dont know.
