Does anyone have a record or link to the old westwood rankings from 1996?

Yo guys,

I've tried using archive.org to find the old westwood rankings for red alert 1, but can only find tiberian sun: http://web.archive.org/web/20001018094553/http://games2.westwood.com/tsun_ladder/ranking.html

Can anyone help? I can't remember my old username, and it would be cool to see the old ladder and if anyone there is still playing...

Cheers!

Trip down memory lane.  I found one of me from 1999.  I also remember half of those names above me (ranked 14).  They would disconnect when i was winning.  I never figured out how they always got the win.  People suspected it was kill count but i know for a fact on a lot of those i had more kills.  Always wanted a top prize and never got it.  Would be in the top 5 and slowly fade as the dc's happened.

Very cool :-)

I found myself in 2001. I guess I played a lot that year. Highest place I could find #12.

Playing: path, island wars and sometimes nxnw.
Remember that many of the pros used different names to gather points and than donated the points to themselves. So usually the top5 was full of cheaters :D

Around the late 90's, I remember thinking "Netscape Navigator (or Communicator, whatever it was) is awesome, I'll NEVER switch to Internet Explorer" :D. I never played any of the C&Cs online back then though because our dial-up connection was so slow, not to mention all the cutting out every time my mom's fake-nice boyfriend called :D . But I didn't mind, single player was still tonnes of fun  :).

Yeh some top guys were no doubt cheating like that, and d/c too. I mostly played path back in '97 for a year.

Looking at Steeldart's ranking pic there, interesting to see Jjfjr at only 10 in the rankings with 9 losses, because he would go on to be 1 of the strongest ever according to Milo: "JJFjr proved himself to be better than everyone else still playing, beating me 8 to 1 in 1v1s and pretty much devastating the rest of the competition". But that was before cncnet came along, so wonder how he'd do now. Does he even know the game is back up and running?

Absolutely spot on mate and you remind me of how infuriating it was in TS. The top 10 back in '99 and '00 was littered with people who would always dc when losing yet always got awarded the win. They would also always appear to have a good connection rating with the green smiley face which was a total lie!

I like you also wanted the prize badly but the number one spot meant the most to me. After all who doesn't want to be known as the best at a game :)
