hehe, but does it make sence? if you "sell" your CY, no troopers will appear that you can go to search for crates. sure, you can hunt crates with your MCV also.
-
i want to be a judge of course, and i will show you my latest map i created today. heres a screenshot (it is a crate map): How to play Crate Maps? - Setup your game settings: Start with MCV only No Credits TechLevel to lowest - Do this ingame: Build up your MCV to a CY Sell your CY Search with your troopers for crates Collect Crates (Money/Units/maybe a MCV? Wink ) Eliminate your enemies or create alliances Have Fun!!

you won at least, well it seems that you are going to win. it is all okay. all-kind cheaters suck, yes! btw: what map did you play?
-
uuuh, good question. we havent exactly planned this yet. i think if 2 players live far away, westwood chat will be the best alternative to CnCNet, because WChat has a faster connection. But you cannot play custom maps thruogh westwood chat so only 1on1 games can be played. To play custom maps thruogh WChat you need to mod a bit and it will be complicated for newbies etc. i recommend to use CnCNet Client of course!! 6 player games and custom maps are working via the CnCNet Client.

I think you confused something. It is not selecting the Patch for C&C95, it is to locate the Path of C&C95 (where the C&C95.exe is located!) You will see in this video, you need to select the correct path of your C&C95 game! As Irony wrote, TFD uses regulary this direction: C:\Program Files (x86)\EA Games\Command & Conquer First Decade\Command and Conquer\ Select this path. You are not able to select C&C95's executable !! If you cannot select it thruogh CnCNet you can manually change this. Goto your CnCNet Install Directory. Right-Click cncNet.xml and select edit. As seen in this video, you may change it manually there. Please dont change anything else there and notice those added popups in this video. You can pause this video of course, if important popups are immediately disappearing. CnCNet Client - Select C&C95 Path CnCNet Client - Select C&C95 Path My current C&C95 directory/path is: E:\Westwood\C&C95+ because i am not a TFD user. i am using a C&C standalone edition. I showed you in this video: "Explains how to setup the correct C&C95 path and showing that CnCNet Client automatically adds 'C&C95.exe' into its configuration file (cncNet.xml) after selecting any folders!!" (Red Alert for example)

oh, be careful please.
-
Download my FullRA+ from here and everything is okay. no need for TFD or Westwood Chat to play RA1 (v3.03) online. Dont forget to read the Readme!!

i remember this map

i highly loved to play WipEout 2097 and Wip3out SE on the PS1, also i loved to play Streetfighter EX2 Plus. Nobody was able to beat my in any of those games, hehehe. But today, i dont play any PSX games anymore. No Consoles for me. only PC's.

the chat didnt work properly on early beta tests of the CnCNet Client. but if you can do that, it would be nice. this embedded browser is a nice idea, i guess. very easy to code. this cnc-comm chat should own more channels then, as you maybe do know from the C&C3 internet lobby. so players can choose any channel they want to be inside, to talk and meet before they are going to play....

..i also thuoght about that irony
-
aha i see... what red alert 1 edition have you installed? a minira? a fullra? installation thruogh original disks? The first Deacde (TFD)? -> if a minira or fullra, where did you grab/download it? i recommend to download it here! and please dont use the MiniRA. -> if original Disks or The First Decade, reinstall Red Alert and apply that 3.03 patch again. i think you havent installed red alert correctly. A guide will help you to install it thruogh original Disks here!
-
i also created mix files (mappacks) with XCC Editor once... the whole C&C1 game crashed or didnt load up when i put that mappack into the main dir. that database.dat should be deleted or as nyerguds told to set the correct type of a mix.

loading and watching, yay nyerguds!! -
I thuoght about tournament games in C&C1 thruogh CnCNet as well few days ago. (would fit with: Online Competitions). Especially for this weekend but i havent posted this idea yet. I think there are nice custom tournament maps already created but in my opinion those map sizes are too small for 3v3 games or if you like 2v2v2. 4 Player maps are nice, so i recommend: if playing tournament maps you should change a setting in your conquer.ini. 'Players=6' to 'Players=4' !! if keeping 6 all the starting positions on 4p maps are screwed up [...] anyway i want to show you a few maps: -> Aquamarine (6) [@Irony's Mappack] -> Central Escape (4)/(6) [@N3tRunn3r's Mappack] -> Vales of the Templars (4) [@N3tRunn3r's Mappack] -> Crossed (4)/(6) [@N3tRunn3r's Mappack] the final round should be: => Secondary Tiberium Impacts (6) [@N3tRunn3r's Mappack]

i see. thank you for your reply. once i had this error as well. not long time ago. is norton antivir/internet security installed on your laptop? do you get sometimes inverted colors as well?

yes, win98 doesnt have any compatibility setups, thats why it causes problems. a registry will be added/written into a directory which maybe doesnt exist!!! i am talking about this directory in the regedit under the HKLM. maybe this special folder in the HKLM doesnt exist in win98 but will be NEW written thruogh this setup. causes errors. maybe it exists and confuses anything else there. maybe this directory is used by anything else as well. i cannot be 100% sure maybe only 65% or 70% lol, but those errors pichorra talks about handles about compat-issues on newer systems. i guess! alright, an other idea is, as nyerguds mentioned already, to disable the high resolution. if this also havent helped you, keep the 1.06B patch still and overwrite your C&C95.exe with my C&C95.exe. here you go (unzip it):
-
hi pichorra. i recommend to respect nyerguds a little bit for his work. do you know how long he needed to work on the releases of the 1.06a/b patches? To make you all happy? in my opinion: C&C was built to play 1on1 games only thruogh westwood chat. with a modified game code to play up to a 6player game 'online' should be maybe a problem, if you play 50 mammoths VS 50 other mammoths. but i think a changed program code should not be the problem. you do know that the new CnCNet Client was a free-time project of a mate. he also worked very hard on this project and should get a bit respect for it. a 50 tanks VS 50 tanks battle maybe causes crashes. who knows. we already played a ffa 5 player game online with nearly no lags. you can watch them here: CnCNet Online Gameplay 2009-04-19 (Part 1 of 6) No crashes, no disconnects, nearly no lags. but i have to mention: we didnt play that hardcore. it was more a just for fun game. At least i think i do know your problem: It is a compatibility issue. V1.06a havent set a compatibility mode for your C&C game yet. I guess you never needed to set any compatibility modes yet, because you have used Win98. You should change the compatibility mode of the C&C95.exe into Win95 if you are using WinXP or into Win98/Me if you are using WinVista. Due that 1.06b automatically changes the compatibility mode for each PC which was mainly thuoght for XP or Vista Operating Systems, thats why it can cause those problems at all on your Win98 system! V1.06a havent had this auto-set yet. That is why you are able to simply play without any compatibility modes on your PC due C&C95 doesnt need to have any compat-modes on older Operating Systems while others needs them for newer OS'es! I hope you understand a bit. Why downgrading to 1.06a while 1.06b is highly improved etc. I guess you havent read the full changes list. Anyway: "I" recommend to uninstall your current C&C game and to clean install it, patch it with latest 1.06b, right click the shortcut of C&C or directly the C&C95.exe which is located in your main C&C directory, select properties, goto the compatibilites tab and change it. if you still use Win98 so fully disable the compat-mode please. This compatibility issue causes those ingame Video errors as well. (Tested on Sole Survivor)! Get either Nyerguds' full-standalone C&C game which is already patched with 1.06b, but then you need to disable the compatibility mode after installing or get the original Westwood ISOs of C&C1. Dont be afraid: C&C1 and RA1 are already FREEWARE!! If i have forgotten anything about this problem or you have any more questions or problems, please be cool and ask with nice words into this topic about this 1.06b patch. Many Thanks & BEST REGARDS N3
