Implementing JDosBox onto community web portal (need a new section?).
Nyerguds replied to Myg's topic in General Discussion
On cncnet? How would you do that? This system is based on hacking extra stuff into the exe. With the dos executable, this is practically impossible. It can barely be disassembled due to its inbuilt DOS4GW memory manager. -
I could ask the modellers of the Tiberian Dawn mod for C&C3 if their models can be used for this stuff. I still got those
-
Heh. I got all files from the N64 version. Problem is, no one seems to know the actual file formats used in it. Also, these models kinda suck, tbh.

Tschokky's C&C-RA (almost total) conversion
Nyerguds replied to Tschokky's topic in Modding Discussion
This is coming along nicely -
Then they probably changed that with The Aftermath. I remember very well that enabling stealth crates in the old days gave me mammoth tanks that gave the submerging sounds when they uncloaked.
-
I think it only does that in the phase transport missions... they messed with that somehow just for those.

No wonder I've always thought the big remap piece was the barrel xD

Game engine. Don't play at such high resolutions. The game doesn't like having too many objects on the screen at the same time.
-
"not responding" does not equal a crash. It is your Windows incorrectly assuming the game has crashed because the game isn't responding to any user input at that moment, just because the map animations don't accept any mouse clicks or key presses, since they can't be skipped. But it is entirely YOUR decision to kill off the game there. Normally, the audio should tell you the game is actually still continuing normally during all that, and if you wait you'll end up on the map selection screen. Anyway, the problem can be solved by enabling Windows 95 compatibility mode on the C&C95.exe file. I'll see if I can update the current patch installer soon to address this problem.

yeah they should rank people by level of a-holeness and immaturity. Now that's a ladder I'd like to see!! There is a lot of stiff competition, though. You can put me and hifi on the bottom of that list, since we are the best. Come now. The both of you excel in both of these areas XD

Why 'Ban' Yuri when America is just as OP
Nyerguds replied to TyphoonAttackSub's topic in Red Alert 2
So... on water maps they have relatively fast, cloaked, super-powerful and very long range artillery as lowest tier water unit? Wow. -
Note that technically, in RA1, this is actually the submerging ability of the submarine, and will have the submerging sound associated to it
-
Ummm. Did you download the "yr_music_update_v100b.zip" from the first post? There's a "readme_v100b.txt" right there in the zip file.

The one at 004dbc37 is a crash I documented before. Documented as "Crash that occurred when scrolling down and to the left. Related to showing/hiding the mouse cursor." http://forums.cncnz.com/topic/15009-crash-research/ No further info. But if it's somehow reproducible on his system, that'd be kinda interesting actually.

That was more a comment to 55aa that he shouldn't assume such things, but yes, it DOES mean that if it is anywhere under "program files" you need to run the batch file in Administrator mode. Right click-> run as administrator. Curious though... did the game work before you installed the music patch? Read the readme file? There's a section on uninstalling
-
"unless your game is installed where it really shouldn't have been" - incidentally, where both TFD and Origin install it by default?
-
Eh, those "accurate numbers" would require a randomization in the accuracy of the weapons, so not sure if that'd work. I don't know if anyone knows the actual inaccuracy chances and spread radius of the C&C weapons. There's a specific "is inaccurate" flag in C&C1 used on the artillery to make it extra inaccurate, but besides that there's nothing in the actual stats, as far as I know, while most weapons seem to have some level of inaccuracy. Knowing C&C, this might actually be hardcoded per weapon.

Sorry, that was in reply to Mechacaseal. I haven't seen any streams on youtube except from big companies.

I think this was fixed by adding the ant missions in an sc*.mix file. I got a file that fixes that (and a version that adds the ant missions' briefing video) on my TFD fixes page. http://nyerguds.arsaneus-design.com/cncstuff/0_files.html#ra_antmiss http://nyerguds.arsaneus-design.com/cncstuff/0_files.html#ra_antbrf

I think you can see the serial if you look at the game's info page in the Origin client.

But that's not about the vortex, is it?
-
Don't think it exists in RA2. Chrono tech has come a long way there, and is even casually implemented in all allied harvesters, after all.
