Sadly, no.

I really feel sorry for everyone with Win 8/10 problems (not just on this forum). Not to be a smart ass or anything, but you guys don't know how good it feels to have everything (games, apps, everything) working more or less perfectly. I think the moral to the story is: Whenever a new OS is released and you have to have it for whatever reason, either keep your old PC, or dual boot. But on-topic: I don't think the games are 'merged' enough. I'd prefer it if ONE client was able to create/join ANY C&C game, everything centralized, but that's just me.

@Huub: What did you think of that^ modified Heck Freezes Over map? For more crazy brutal next level AI humiliation (for YR), but on any multiplayer map, download WARDEATHFUN's AI 'upgrades': http://www.mediafire.com/download/gnjqc2lrotwd77l/YR_-_Advanced_AI.rar Just extract/copy aimd.ini and rulesmd.ini to your YR folder then restart the game. To uninstall, simply delete these 2 files (after wiping your tears). NOTE: If the files already exist, rename those files to something else if you don't want to lose them, otherwise just delete them, before copying the new files.

Red Alert and Tiberian Sun ladder map discussion

I thought this setting just enabled the ability to produce another MVC (as some maps disallow this). I didn't realize there was a speed multiplier attached? If so, I agree that it should be false. No, you need a Tech Center to be able to make additional MCVs. Which maps don't allow this? It's become somewhat of a default setting for most players lol Stopping 3 engineers is hard enough in TS, let alone 1! -
October 21, 2015... Is anyone else re-watching it, or recently watched it again today? I'm a little disappointed that we still don't all have flying cars and hoverboards, but we do have big flat screen TVs, 3D movies (not quite as good as the Jaws 19 shark that tries to eat Marty though) and video games where you don't have to use your hands, like little Frodo Baggins' friend was referring to.

Is more than 8 players possible? How about drop-in mid game?
fir3w0rx replied to fir3w0rx's topic in Red Alert 2
Well, 'good' players might be a little hard to find at your level, but if you lower your expectations a little, 4v4 games aren't too hard to find here, especially at this time, and even more so at this time during weekends -
Hey Adam, is this your YouTube channel? https://www.youtube.com/user/tonysskeleton If so then I remember you. No RA2/YR ladder here yet, still in the making. But there is a tonne of ffg activity! Specially evenings (Europe time).

I highly disagree with setting Multiple Factory to true. Not having this build speed multiplier is one of the things that make TS very different from the others as unit spam is limited. This is the root cause of unit spam (which is fine in other games because big tank battles are awesome, but I think it'll ruin TS). But that's just me. -

It'll be the best MMORTS for a long time (like End of Nations would have been if it were finished ). -
You guys should give your input on the upcoming ladder to help speed up it's release: http://cnc-comm.com/community/index.php?topic=4689.0

Red Alert and Tiberian Sun ladder map discussion

Everything should be available because as long as both players agree to the conditions, it's fair. I think what's more important is: -how many points are awarded/deducted per win/loss -when does the ladder reset (every month? week?) -should a player that plays only one map over and over, get less points compared to someone who plays every map? -should you be allowed to rack up points by just repeatedly playing the same (less skilled) player? what's the limit? -maybe have bonus points. For example: +100 points if you played the most games during the month/week. Or +20 if you played on more than 20 maps. These are just some examples and are very brief, each point can be broken down further. A message about this post (with a link) should pop up in the lobby every time you log in, and every 10 minutes or so after that, imo, because a leaderboard is a big update. -
In the older C&Cs, with just ONE click, no questions asked, infantry are brave enough to: -walk across a tiberium field, even if it kills them -run solo through the enemy base just to scout -blow their selves up for Cuba -run into an enemy base with no weapon whatsoever just to try and capture one of their buildings -take on an entire army with just a sniper rifle and C4s -and many other crazy orders that their commander gives them. BUT... you can click a thousand times and they'll still refuse to go in the water (with the exception of Tanya and the SEALs from RA2).

Can't it be modded to have MCV units that can deploy and expand into entire bases? What's 'server-based' and what are the other C&C games called; 'server/client-based'? (I have no idea) -

So I guess when it comes to the number of simultaneous players, Sole Survivor was way ahead of it's time (I think 50 players max O_o ). -
8+ players? Has anyone here ever tried to do this? Are there any mods out there that allows this? Any idea which part of the game to start looking into: which INI? EXE? I'm asking 'cos I think it'll be so much fun if we could have 20+ players going at it. The more the crazier. 'Drop-In'? Can any modders/hackers/programmers out there foresee this being a possibility one day where 1 player is playing a campaign mission, then mid-game a 2nd player drops in and helps out? Maybe you can have a player in a co-op mission and have a 2nd or even 3rd MCV just siting there with no 'owner'. Then when someone else drops in, ownership of one of those MCVs is given to them. Remotely possible? How about dropping in to observe? It'll be great if you came to the party late, you can still drop in mid-game to observe the match
-
Do it then, I bet you can't. (See, I can reverse too!^)
-
Oh wow, that's all I used to ever know: nop or jmp over blocks of code I didn't like! Hmmm, maybe even I can do this... haha yeah right
-
20 minutes??? Only 20 meesly minutes??? Then why not just do it?... please... Mr. FunkyFr3sh sir. I'll buy you a beer... wait I don't live near you... I'll give you money for a beer, a whole case dammit! Just watch an episode of The Big Bang Theory while you do it. When the episode is finished, so is your patch!

Ah... GAMERES = game results, got it.
-
Oh ok. I'm not sure what the going rate is, but it sounds reasonable. Anoyone here with a spare 500€? Btw what's a 'GAMERES format'?
-
Thanks but, that's like saying "To learn how to bunny-hop you'll need a push bike" . I mean, what specifically would you need to know to make the game output results to where you tell it to? Pretend you're trying to explain this to a high school student.
-
Oh ok. So... what would you need to know; tcp/ip? udp? both low AND high level language? I'm not planning on learning then making the ladder myself (I'd rather spend my free time playing, + it'll take me 100 years to learn), I just wanna have some idea about what goes on behind the scenes regarding such a project, and I also would like to have some understanding of what you guys talk about regarding these games in general.
-
Hey yo Alex, how much would you charge to make the necessary code? Just curious.
