The 'RA Jokes' section was so bad it was actually funny Yeah if you can compile a collection for RA 3.03, it would be really awesome. I've enjoyed and continue to enjoy Chimas' TD collection from time to time.

If you're only recording multiplayer RA2/YR matches (which usually don't go for that long), Bandicam has a free version that allows you to record 10 minute files.

Hahaha... don't you guys just love helping people :D

Ok, works now. I had to resize the image dimensions and make it smaller (from 100x140 -> 86x120), which for some reason actually made the file size larger Thank you gentlemen, live long and prosper.

My avatar is an animated GIF file which works on other forums, but not this one. I've seen others with animated avatars here so it's possible. How did they get theirs to work? Thanx, bye.

Too late, they're alive now and kicking... Muwahahahaha!!

It actually takes place after Red Alert 1. RA2 and YR don't exist in the MO timeline. But it's still in beta stages so who knows, maybe by the end of it there will be twists and turns with the use of the chronosphere or something and somehow have a connection with RA2's and YR's events .

C&C Generals ZH & C&C 3 suggestions? (mods)
fir3w0rx replied to Scara and Spud's topic in Newer C&C games
With newer C&C games (Generals, Tiberium Wars, Red Alert 3...), it'd be best to ask at the C&C:Online Forums. If you do decide to boot up RA2/YR, Mental Omega is definitely the best mod for it. Adding interesting or energetic commentary, especially to these kind of vids often helps, but you don't want to bother with commentary. Online matchups (1v1, 2v2) are a dime a dozen. How do you plan to "spice things up a bit from the norm" with your YouTube vids? -
Sole Survivor is C&C's unwanted child that was kept in the basement. It wasn't even included in any of the packaged releases like "The First Decade" or "The C&C Collection"! But in all fairness, it was released at a bad time. Unlike other C&C games, It was made solely for online play at a time when people didn't even know what "online" meant Had it been released when the internet was in every household (and also with better advertising) we would have seen expansions of it, maybe even another C&C universe! I only know little about programming, let alone making a server, but to me Sole Survivor looks like a mod of Tiberian Dawn. Wouldn't that make the server for both games somewhat similar? I don't think you can get it brand new anymore, but you can still get it second hand from ebay or Amazon.com, and probably other online retailers. Once you do get it though, your next problem begins... getting it to work! If you can't be bothered going through all that hassle, another option would be to play "Dawn of the Tiberium Age" in "Survivor" mode. You can't choose specific units like dinosaurs or whatever, or see your specific upgrades at the top of the screen, or die and keep respawning until the time runs out, or just about any other features for that matter , but it's the closest you can get to playing Sole Survivor Online.

Today we're pirating movies... tomorrow we're pirating lamborghinis!

Yes! It works!!! I better get back quickly before I get stuck here

If only you could get EA's approval (which I highly doubt), or somehow bypass the copyright , you could visit lulu.com to turn this into an ebook and make some money out of it, or at the very least have the satisfaction of writing your own book. There are a looOOoot of 'hacking' books out there, but nothing specifically on classic C&C.

Possibility of merging CNCNET with Xwis?
fir3w0rx replied to Hefeweize's topic in General Discussion
I linked this video at xwis in a topic about both servers sometime last year. My post was removed within minutes https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=z5OXON8vIaA But this is a great idea, just like when Street Fighter merged with Tekken -
Ahh, the unofficial TS ladder ... GIVE THESE GUYS A LADDER ALREADY!!!

People have been playing RA2/YR for over 14 years without this option, so as long as it remains as an option and not permanent, then great! At first I was gonna say that this option should only be allowed in ffgs (for-fun-games / non ranked games), but as long as both players know what options have been enabled/disabled it will be fair, whether ranked or not. But that said It should not be in Quick Match games though because in this mode players don't have a choice with the options. This should have been implemented on day one by Westwood, like it was with TS.

Yeah I've heard of that bbs thing (Bulletin Board System right?). I used to have walkthoughs for some of my dos games like Leisuresuit Larry, Police Quest and Space Quest that came from there and also cracks with text files saying something like "This was brought to you by (insert hacker group name here and bbs number here)". These dinosaur modems was another really frustrating thing; everytime someone called I'd get disconnected with only half the boob downloaded

THREE THOUSAND THREE HUNDRED AND NINETYEIGHT DOLLARS... FOR TEN MEGABYTES???!!! TEN MEGABYTES?!?!? Woooow. Back in the olden days, $1 could buy a lot more than it can now, so $3398 would actually be a lot more than it sounds! How times have changed. I feel sorry for the kids from that era It makes you really appreciate what we have now though ($3398... fk me... for 10Mb???)

I used to have Blade Runner because I love point n click adventure games (I didn't even realize it was a Westwood game). Awesome game, but the movie was even more awesome. 5 1/4 floppies - The disks with the hole in the middle I must be old coz I remember playing games on my older cousin's Commodore 64 when I was a kid. I remember having to change disks a lot while playing games, it was really annoying
