  1. if its crashing before any code is executed then the source wouldnt help, the logfile stuff is the first thing it takes care off dpi scaling is supported, but some people try to run high dpi settings on very small resolutions and it would draw out of the screen. it works fine if your screen is big enough to handle the scaled size yes i still need to make enter/esc working on many places, only did it only a few things yet. each message box and settings stuff shows on top to catch attention it does not install, it is just a self extractor. Using the program files folder would require permanent admin rights to be able to use the client so it defaults to the current folder which most likely is the download folder of the current user (no admin rights required there)
  2. source code is not available for the client, but it wouldnt help you anyways the error logging should always work, even if its crashing right on the start .. something on your end is broken if you are sure you have allowed it in your security programs then i would suggest to try to re-install the .net framework 2.0 .. thats a bit of hassle tho
  3. it is part of windows 7 only XP users need to install it manually
  4. well, that is very strange .. i guess something on your pc is blocking it completely for any reason
  5. Can you provide some more info? OS ? do you see the login screen/updater or do you crash right away? can you copy/paste the error log please (gamefolder\CnCNet5\Logfiles)
  6. arda has been canceled ages ago, it doesnt support cncnet and never meant to support cncnet.. so there is nothing we can do about it
  7. you can pick any name you want, this name was just an example normally the file is called "ra95-spawn.exe", cncnet updates it when new ra features are added ... if you want to use your own custom .exe then we are ofc not able to update it since you added some special stuff and you have to use your own updater you should add the mod name and custom game type to cncnet5.ini, it will turn most of the standard ra updates off to make sure it wont break your mod (check red dawn as example)
  8. you can use your own .exe, not sure if i remember the name of the key correctly but try this: RedAlertExecutable=ra95-mod.exe it does compare the .exe files using this key also means that the updater will never update this file again, so you have to take care of the updates on your own!
  9. your ip range was banned cause someone from that range was part of a botnet, i removed the ban now

    Ping issue

if you are on windows then its caused by the firewall (could also be the ISP, but that is very rare) On linux/mac its normal, ping will be blocked in wine but there are some workarounds for it (google)

    Ping issue

type "/ping google.com" in the game lobby to make sure the ping test is working if it says 4 times N/A then something is blocking it and it will show "very bad" all the time even if your connection is good
  12. Tiberian Sun can lag badly for some people if you use windows 8 or have bad settings. We got a couple of fixes for that now but none of them are perfect, for some they work well for others not But you guys should always check your pings just to make sure your connection is fine
  13. never heard about that error, i will try to reproduce tomorrow
  14. That is nice, thanks for the support
  15. official tunnel servers are listed on top, thats why those are mainly used and the unofficial ones are listed on the bottom and end up with less users. (this list is sorted automatically by your distance to the servers) Sadly we had problems before, people been putting servers up which werent working and all games failed to start if someone tried to use those servers. We had no access to these servers so we could not solve the problem on our own. Thats the main reason why official servers are listed on top while other servers are listed on the bottom But yes, its always good to put up a server if you have a spare one If you like to have it on top to get more users then we would need to have access to the server so we can fix it up if there is a problem
  16. do not use the cncnet package for singleplayer/lan in the original game menu! it was never meant to be used for that download the full game from nyers site if you like to play SP: http://nyerguds.arsaneus-design.com/cnc95upd/cc95p106/ the cncnet version is a completely stripped down version for multiplayer and the cnc95.exe was never tested in SP singleplayer = c&c95.exe cncnet = cnc95.exe - The reason why cnc95.exe wont show these menus is the fact that it cannot read sc* mix files, the cncnet files should never interfere with the original game installation and therefore the name of the mix files has been changed to sa*.mix e.g. "sa-ext-sb.mix" (this file is for the extended sidebar, it would break your original game installation if we would use sc* files) so, in other words ... if you like to test around and use the cncnet cnc95.exe in SP you must copy/rename all your mix files starting with sc* to sa*

    Little help

no it doesnt do that, it adds 1 registry key to bypass the dll registration
  18. i forgot to add, the client also checks if you minimize/maximize the window So either that or mouse move/key press Why dont you just host a game if you are waiting for someone to play? inside of a game room you cannot go into away state, all sounds will be on and you can hear if someone joins

    Little help

    or, try this: http://funkyfr3sh.cncnet.org/files/TiberianSunDllFix.exe
  20. yes, i can enable the screen shake for skirmish on the next update AI players are sadly not supported for cnc95, not sure if they will be added in the future cause they cannot build anyways It is set to 5minutes, thats a pretty long time If someone didnt move the mouse and didnt pressed any keyboard keys for that long he is for sure away! It has been added to reduce the network traffic, getting the channel list over and over is causing the most traffic on cncnet5
  21. you don't need to be online, the skirmish button in the game launchers start the client with "-noupdate -skirmish" to send you right into the skirmish lobby without getting updates and no login screen will show up either but you need to start it once with a working internet connection first to download all needed files not sure if iran added such a skrimish button to his launcher tho
  22. this usually happens when the unit limit was reached, but it should never happen at the start of the game except you set the game up to start with tons of units or you modified the rules.ini to lower the limits
  23. i created a new wineskin package, but im not sure if it works since i created it on windows: http://dev.cncnet.org/files/RedAlert1_Wineskin_Mac_OS_X_TEST-VERSION.zip it comes with a game launcher, 2 map editors and the single player missions let me know if it works
  24. https://support.google.com/youtube/answer/1722171?hl=en that site didnt change for longer time :/ been testing recently, they are still messing the quality up where do they write about updates?
